So what is redemptive vulnerability? To be vulnerable is to be susceptible to being wounded or hurt. In the context of community, vulnerability is opening up about one’s humanity. It’s to admit that we are not perfect people. We have not arrived. We are broken, unfinished people who live in a world that itself is broken because of the fall. We experience depression, burn out, cancer, sadness, death, grief, disability, disease, relational strife, loneliness, lust, anxiety, and the list goes on.

But our story doesn’t need to end with brokenness. Redemptive vulnerability — a vulnerability that leads to life — is where we share our brokenness in order to display the surpassing power and sufficiency of Christ and the gospel, which transforms us increasingly into the likeness of Christ. Vulnerability is not an end in itself. Rather, our vulnerability should point us, individually and together with other believers, to the sufficiency of Jesus. It looks at and hopes in the redemption we have in Christ Jesus and the work of the cross.

God Uses Weak People for His Best Work

Paul calls the Corinthians to remember that they were not the cultural elite, the politically powerful, or the materially rich, but rather the foolish, weak, low, and despised (1 Corinthians 1:26–31). The principle at work here is that God intentionally uses weak things to accomplish his glorious purposes. The reason God does it this way is so that “no human being might boast in the presence of God” (1 Corinthians 1:29). God alone is to get the glory.

God doesn’t need the powerful, influential, or the cultural movers and shakers to accomplish his work. God actually goes out of his way to give disproportionate impact to the weak, humble, and foolish so that Christ receives all the glory. God intentionally uses weak people to do his best work. When we recognize that we are weak people, we can stop trying to keep up a façade and instead look to the sufficiency and goodness of our God that brings redemption, healing, and comfort to our struggles.

Yes,those that have been reborn are no longer under the law(only able to give an appearance of doing right)but we are under Grace In CHRIST,receiving sustenance from CHRIST.

First GOD loves us and then we are able to love.
The spirit Is willing but the flesh Is weak.

The spirits of just men was made perfect and that's the part that GOD looks at but we are still right here In our flesh bodies that has not been glorified yet and

Although we are heaven bound,we should do as Paul said, present our bodies a living sacrifice ,renewing our minds transforming to be like CHRIST , proving that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD.

Now that is indeed profound the spirit is willing and the flesh is weak goes deeper into what I was trying to explain.

First, wow! I bet you aced all your vocabulary test in school. (I would have trouble spelling both words. lol)

Second, on the concept that money is a promissory note, (yes, I misspelled promissory too lol) that can be redeemed for good or services, let us go at this at a different way. I bought banana's earlier today. To do that, I had to go to the produce section, grab the nanners, (in case that's a regionalism, nanners are what we call bananas, sometimes), take them to the checkout line, let the cashier swipe the bar code, and then gave her money in exchange for those nanners. Which part of that was the "state of being redeemed?"

And, if you say it was when I gave her the money for the bananas, then why is it taking so much longer for Jesus to redeem me? Didn't his death on that cross redeem me even before I was born? Why should that take longer than grabbing some nanners at a store?

Don't take this as an insult. It's really not. I honestly don't get what you're saying and I'm trying to put it in words we can both understand so you can explain to me what I'm not getting from what you said. AND, I really like the vulnerability part of what you're saying, so I'm only missing how the adjective applies. (Hey, I stink at spelling. I'm average on understanding grammar though. lol)

Lol in other words we will be given new bodies our bodies will be redeemed not the Spirit because our Spirit bears witness with Gods Spirit that we are the sons/daughters of God but we still go through trials in these Jars of clay the vulnerability happens when we are open to admit our struggles knowing we will be covered in Christ.

Actually kirsharena Christians are already redeemed and not in a state of being redeemed. Redeem means "to buy out." Romans 3:24-28 and Galatians 3:24 and Galatians 4:15. There are of course other verses. And your right, God's power is demonstrated in weakness. 1 Corinathians 1:27 and 2 Corinthians 12:10.

IN GOD THE SON,

Dear Sister,
I am very glad we are friends! I sent you a request I hope it went through - I know some I sent did not go through - either way I am glad we are friends now.

I like this article very much and I agree...
Even though I knew this already - I would have struggled to put it in words like this.
It is something the Lord has been teaching me for the past several years very slowly, day by day.

Since I never felt loved or accepted or wanted or even tolerated for most of my life, it was very hard for me to open up to people. My struggle was my fears. I did not want to be hurt by people - but now rejecting people first did not work as a tactic any more, since God had replaced my heart of stone with one of flesh.

Now I longed for relationships but I denied them to myself out of fear and so I was hurt either way. As I opened up and began to love my friends and be loved in turned, as I learned to trust people and be known by them - there came a time when God called me to leave them to move on and away.
The pain was so much... I was so sad, so angry too. Why did He cause me to open up and love people if he would take them away again?
So I went to South Africa, where I fell in love with the country, with the little children I worked with and with the church people and my mentors... I wished nothing more then to remain with them forever! I could cuddle and kiss the little ones for hours and never grow tired of it - I did not care that they were covered in dust and ringworms... It did not matter! I loved whipping their runny noses and even when they were so loud my head throbbed with reverberating high pitched screams...
Again He took me and sent me to a place I resolved to not go back to and this time I did not hold back my rage... I did not understand. Until He told me :

"I AM not taking away from you. I AM adding to you...."

He taught me that I always need to love people, every person no matter what, no matter why and no matter the chance that I will leave or they might leave me.

:)

I learned it is always better to assume the best of a person and to be hurt if it wasn't true, then to assume the worst. Because if I assumed the worst, it would hurt no matter what and often I would be wrong if I assumed people thought of me badly or did things to harm me on purpose.

I am glad He showed me these lessons over time, because it makes life a lot easier... A lot simpler.
And the Lord is always there if I get hurt to help me and to comfort me.

Romans 8:23-26 KJVS
And not only they , but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit , the redemption of our body. [24] For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? [25] But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it . [26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

How do you reconcile this statement with all of 1 Corinthians 15 that says our bodies will one day be redeemed as well?

Our bodies are bought but not fully redeemed until we see him face to face we go from glory to glory our Spirit is sealed but we dont have new bodies this is why we die to the self of flesh daily why do you think we are told to take up our cross we are not perfect but being perfected yes our body is his temple but our bodies must be a living sacrifice to be that temple

Paul wrote,I delight In the law of GOD after the Inward man.
The spirit Is willing.

But I see another law In my flesh, warring against the law of my mind and bringing me Into captivity to the law of sin which Is In my flesh.
The flesh Is weak.

I looked up Galatians 3:13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Past tense. Done deal.

The word "redeemed" is exēgorasen in the Greek and it means:

"(from 1537 /ek, "completely out from" which intensifies 59 /agorázō, "buy-up at the marketplace") – properly, take full advantage of, seizing a buying-opportunity, i.e. making the most of the present opportunity (recognizing its future gain). Note the prefix (ek) which lends the meaning, "out and out," "fully" (WS, 917.)"

I also looked up 1 Peter 1:18-19

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot

Again, past tense. Done deal.

The word "redeemed" in 1 Pet 1:18 is elytrōthēte in the Greek and it means:

"a ransom-price") – properly, to release (set free) by paying the full ransom; "to release, on receipt of ransom" (Vine); (figuratively) to restore "something back, into the possession of its rightful owner – i.e. rescuing from the power and possession of an alien possessor" (Wm. Barclay)."

So in Galatians 3:13, we learn that we have been bought completely out from the curse of the law because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ became a curse for us (on our behalf).

And in 1 Peter 1:18, we learn that we have been completely released from the power and possession of satan (the "alien possessor") because our ransom has been fully paid. We have been restored back to the possession of our rightful owner.

Love, love, love that!!!
