Can marriage be without any of these?
What brings about a relationship? Is it love or lust?

I have always been single, so maybe I’m not in a position to answer this entire question. I think a person is better off not marrying someone they aren’t truly in love with. Marrying for no other reason than lust is a mistake, I think. It is better to master your lust than to marry for that reason.

Then again, the Bible says it's better to marry than to burn
(1 Corinthians 7:9).

LOVE, never lust
Love is respect, commitment, friendship, sacrifice, and a lot of other things. The word talks about not defrauding your spouse, but I wouldn't consider a physical relationship lust if you love someone. Lust is like the world, short and temporary. Love is like the Lord, long and everlasting. ( only Christians can truly love, because we have agape love )

"Making love" is not Biblical in the sense of what love really is. We don't make it. If sex is to be seen correctly in its spiritual application, then we also have to consider circumcision, the bride of Christ, and mystery of a husband wife relationship, the re-naming of Sari to Sarah, and the seed of Abraham. This is the Biblical topic that should be addressed, not lust and sex alone. The lust of the flesh is also much more than sexual activity. So why start a thread that narrows discussion that actually should be much more broad in relationship?

Good Q. 'It must be love' that brings about a good relationship. It seems that a good marriage can be without quiet many things. But one thing it can not be without is that both spouses are in the Lord.

Answer 2:

Another question: Is it lust long lasting if it was compared to love?

When you get old U could see it better.

is love carnal? the true agape love never lust. i think that the best relationship is the one that God leads you into and not the one that love or lust bring.

From experience, love and lust can work together. When you're in love with someone and you've gone past Courtshipping, then that mostly means that you're comfortable with them which can mean you're comfortable enough to talk sexually and break the Laws given to us by God.

At the end of the day you have to always think what's best. Respect Heavenly Father's Commandments and be thankful for bringing this person into your path, or disrespect him by breaking his Commandments and breaking the Law of Chastity.

This all depends on how strong your Testimony is. Yes, you may have the understanding that the Words of God says this isn't allowed, but if you've got a weak seed of faith and in your beginning stages of Christ's Path, then you're more likely to break it and God knows that, he doesn't expect a Flower to grow over night, but he expects us to try every day to draw ourselves closer to him.

I fell in love with my husbands heart and writing style before I ever laid eyes on him so there was no lust involved at all and we took time to write and call each other to get to know one another before the love hit too, but it was love that brought us together. I know I fell in love with what was on the inside before I ever saw the outside..... I believe in our case God was what brought about our relationship.
