Resurrection seems to be very common in the new testament. I was just reading Acts 20: 7-12. It tells of a young man who got sleepy during a long sermon and fell off a 3 story building to his death. Paul goes down holds him in his arms and basically brings him back to life. Here is my question...

Why would Paul do this? If the man had been saved and gone to Heaven then Paul just basically took him from God and gave him the potential, to never return. If the man had denied Christ and gone to hell then Paul gave him a second chance... So did Paul do this for mainly others benefit for them to see the power of Christ if so is the soul of one mans life worth the souls of 20 others in the eyes of God. Or did he do this also for the man. Or only for the man?

I am not trying to question God's motives in any way shape or form. Just to understand the story in more depth. Also would love responses to have biblical backings preferably with the verse. Thank you :).

I'm just guessing, but i have a feeling this will become another 'when did the gifts disappear' thread.

It is not about the gift. But more so the reasoning about Paul's raising of the dead and if it has unintended consequences.

I always thought it just a sign that Jesus was given the power over death and that He entrusted His disciples with the same power.

Perhaps it is a parable and shows how even if we fall asleep and roll over off the ledge spiritually. God is able to bring new life to a person the world says was dead and had forsaken.

Interesting, i could not recall this straight away.

There is nothing like a demonstration of ones speech to take the peoples attention.

All for Heavenly Father and Yahshua the Messiah's Glory.

It certainly seemed to of put Life into the long speech being made.
