It's so wonderful that you know everything ... e.g. what is ridiculous, and what is not.
There are plenty of your types on Christian forums, which is NOT so wonderful.
Do you think that a cat talking to a person, and a person getting through multiple levels of security to go into a morgue, and Michelle Obama being a guy are reasonable claims?

I wonder how the guy knew Michelle Obama was a guy..

You know I'm only going to comment on resurrection and healing. What would it take for you to believe people are being healed or rising from the dead? I'm pretty sure if someone provided video you would disclaim that as well and need to be there in person. Then when you were there in person you would find some other reason to not believe it.

Lance,
Rising from the dead! Are you testifying, affirming you saw a person raised from the dead? How do we know the cat spoke to the woman?

Biblical ignorance, poor teaching, lack of community in a real life church or small group, and let's face it, various types of mental illness can account for a lot of this unbiblical nonsense.

There is such a wrong emphasis on feelings and experience in the modern church. And if a church doesn't make you "feel" God, then it is somehow a dead church! As if preaching the Word of God could ever be dead!!

Certainly, there is room for experience. The Bible is clear we receive joy, peace love and the other fruits of the Spirit as we walk with God. But those "feelings" have to be experienced within a framework of truth, which is the Bible.

Further, there is a woeful level of education these days. Both here, and in political forums I am in on FB (For Canada, not the US!) it appalls me the complete lack of education people have! I'm not just talking typos and grammar, but a complete inability to express themselves. On FB, that comes in the form of degradation and swearing. I have had to leave many groups over that! In CC, it comes in the form of people coming up with nonsense like visions from their cat, or just plain visions that conflict with the Bible

We have an elderly friend, who is from Jamaica and was sick growing up, and was unable to go to school. He is a wonderful kind and and caring man. But he gets sucked into cults so easily, because he is unable to think critically about anything a charismatic leader says. He was brainwashed by the Oneness movement and it tars all his theology into nothing more than nonsense. He had all these visions he wrote down on how to interpret the Bible. The entire Bible! I went through (before Seminary) and pointed out the theological mistakes he made, and showed him what the bible said. This was not hard, as some things were so grandiose and so far beyond the pale, a child could have done it.

So, he became a teacher, and had large groups of people coming to his home, to follow his books, which he said were interpreting the bible, when in fact, they were just a total fabrication! Sigh!

Nothing surprises me about the internet. And I am not a believer at all in end times escapist fantasies like the Rapture. Yet, when I look at the ignorance which has resulted in outright apostasy, I sincerely wonder! I also wonder how it must grieve the heart of God to see the name of Jesus being shamed and lied about and dragged by any vision or dream or ill wind of change that people can imagine! The sky is the limit, when it comes to claims about God. Unverified claims, I am talking about!
I'm unedumicated. Does this make me any less a child of God? Does it make someone a lesser person in your eyes? I have to correct my wife quite a bit about making claims of someone is uneducated because they don't have as much college as her. Some people just don't have the education but it doesn't mean they don't have anything to offer on social media.

Did I say I witnessed someone raised from the dead? Now in third world countries this actually occurs quite a bit. As far as the cat. Well God has used animals before and He has used bushes sooooo can I say 100% this didn't occur? Nope not at all.

Tell me why should my gift that i had at the time be so untrue if God truly loved me and wanted me to know he was there after being bullied almost killed and raped as a child ?

Perhaps I misunderstood. I took your What would it take for you to believe people are being healed or rising from the dead? to mean you believed people are raised today from the dead, as like in the case of Lazarus, and others in the bible, including Jesus.

I do believe, as you, that God did use animals, as Peter the apostle testifies, to speak to people. I don't deny the inspired writings, they've been confirmed.

None of the cat's meows, however, have been confirmed to be speaking, nor has the claim of one rising today from the dead been confirmed.

I have to admit that if someone I didn't know told me the things mentioned in the OP I would be skeptical. That is to say, I'd be cautious to the point of being skeptical, but I wouldn't dismiss it entirely. I know that the Holy Spirit exists. I believe He can and does perform miracles. But at the same time I also suspect there are those who fake miraculous cures for their own selfish purposes or ulterior motives. Just hearing about some purportedly miraculous event from someone I didn't know or necessarily trust would not enable me to discern between miracle or fake.

So I'd have to remain cautiously skeptical without dismissing it outright. I wouldn't dismiss it outright because I believe it *could* be possible IF these people were working with the Holy Spirit. That, and because I wouldn't want to fall into the same trap as the Pharisees did in Mark 3.

Why not a cat? If God had chosen a cat, that's His choice. He instead chose a dumb-ass. Peter the apostle testifies to that truth. 2 Peter 2.16. Moses also.
Where's the confirmation that a cat spoke to a person?

I dont get you sorry... This is not a new age rubish coz when you sleep at night your still actually awake... then you dream sometime even waking up and wondering if your legs are ok after falling over...

Now wondering if you saw a vision from God or knowing it was is why we have so many revalations in the Bible... Not everyone will see Jesusand not everyone will be a doubting thomas...

Sadly some will be a doubting thomas for ever...

What is your evidence?

Joseph Smith spoke to angels and Jesus! You believe him, right?

Jesus was raised, plenty of evidence.

Far as out of body experiences. I was into Astral Projection quite a bit before I was saved and it isn't something I would want to even mess with as a Christian. I'm not saying God doesn't use it, this is just something I have chose not to mess with.

My Aunt claims a Christian lady Astral Projector to her when she was in time of need. The reason she knew this lady was a Christian is a few weeks later the lady ended up being a guest speaker at her church. When my Aunt asked her about it the speaker said God has used her in this manner before.

So is Astral Projection something a Christian should do? I'm not 100% sure on this.

It is called Faith that I believe miracles that happened with the Apostles still happen today and I'm not a doubting Thomas where I need proof that it happened. One thing I am sure of; Liars get found out about over time. So if someone claims they witnessed someone dead and then praying over them brought them back and then later on I found out they lied, well then that is between God and them.

Faith. Mormons say they have faith. Why not believe Joseph Smith?

Do you really believe there was a man named Thomas, who doubted that Jesus was raised from the dead? Why would you bring Thomas into this? Where do you read about Thomas?

John 20.
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
[SUP]30 [/SUP]Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. [SUP]31 [/SUP]But these are written that you may believethat Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
