Well, we can disagree, but I have Scripture to back up my view, what do you have? :)
Oh my gosh he is an idiot.

For real dude, the psalms were songs about everyday angst that david went through; how he was so down. If you think about it David perfected "emo" music. i think music is an expression, of who you are, or should be. As far as knowing how to worship God, i don't think much of anyone does that right. Especially your common found baptist church. Sacrifices were offered as worship, not many ppl o sacrifices these days...

Now I for one along with others who have in the past disagreed with baptistrw will attest to the fact that the man is DEFINITELY NOT i repeat NOT an idiot. Thats all I got to say about that.

Roaring Kitten you are on it...Amen! I am so glad God revealed that to you. Hip Hop is in the same boat as Rock and Roll...such artist as Jay-Z, Rihanna, Lil-Wayne, Wu-Tang, etc...the list can go on. This music are tools used by Satan to inadvertantly draw people away from God. When Satan was in heaven, his gift was music and when he got kicked out God didn't take gift away...Satan is still using music...When you listen to music that does not glorify God and raising your hands to it...who do you think you are raising your hands to...surely not God. Whom you yield your members to that who you are a slave to. Some of the music that are created today in Hip Hop and Rock and Roll have backward messages in them...Marilyn Manson and Jay-Z are some people who have backward messages in their music. Saints of God better open their eyes to what God is trying to reveal in this last hour. Be blessed!

If a music is evil, then so is language. Both can be used to speak of love or hate. In and of themselves, both are ways of expressing thoughts to be understood by others, and are not inherently evil. When abused, they can be evil. The words I am typing are from the English language. Words in this language can be used to heal or to hurt, but we wouldn't say the English language is evil because I could use it to curse or speak of evil things, would we? I hope not. Music is but another thing like to language, and as we have different tongues, like English, Music has genres like Rock 'n' Roll. Can Rock 'n' Roll artists spread evil through their music? Yes, just as English speakers can promote evil with words. But, then again, the musical style of Rock 'n' Roll can also be used for good, just as English can be used to evangelize.

Satan can only lead you away from God if you let him. It's not the music that takes you from God, it's YOU.

When the bible was written they would have had their own form of secular or pagan music, so can anyone find a bible verse that condemns a particular form or style of music?
Peace be to you

Pantara becoming lyricks
I'm becoming more than a man
More than you ever were

Driven and burning
To rise beyond Jesus

I'm born again
With snakes eyes

Becoming... God size

I found my life was slipping through my hands
Perhaps through death my life won't be so bad

I can see you

I cant even print the rest on this page

wonder if anyone ever wonders why its so easy to remember some of those satanic lyrics where you try and try to memorize a biblical passage but seem to stumble to get it down word for word. This is the way of satan... I remember one day around 1984 a friend who was into witchcraft taught me a long chant about money... i could recite it word for word to this day satan so firmly implanted it in my brain. even just typing about it it scrolls through the back of my brain & i say GET BEHIND ME SATAN. Dont for a minute think that antiChristian lyrics or chants dont have power... Words ABSOLUTELY have power. If satanic words dont have power than the same would have to hold true for Biblical words and we definitely know this is not the case. Do not be deceived, guard your mind from the trash and if you are in an enviroment where the trash prevails, as i hear bad music in the background... in my brain i'm singing "then sings my soul my savior God to thee... how great thou art... how great thou art." Harley Angel we have many unbelieving friends who we associate with who are into a certain type of music, so no we cant just say shut it off when we are at a bike ralley... I think that its important for us to be their beacons of Light in this dark world, that when their hearts are ready they will know we are Christian by our love and they will come to us to assist them spiritually. I perceive that this is who you are, someone who lets her light shine in a non judgemental way. It was interesting there was this big guy at a bike rodeo i was at and he had a satanic version of psalm 24 tatooed on him & it ended with him being the toughest guy in the valley... first i said oh you have psalm 24 on your tatoo then I said OOOOH... hmmm I think i like the original version better cause I'm pretty sure the Lord is even tougher than even you... with a laugh and a smile... suddenly there were 6 bikers and me in a discussion about my faith in Christ because i didnt judge those TERRIBLE words he's permanently imprinted on his body. I think that we are all a part of the body of Christ... many on here could not bare to be around someone who would tatoo such a thing on their body & thats ok cause the Lord gives us each our ministry whatever it be. I do think I need to spend more time arming myself prior to seeing our biking friends although I do spend time in prayer and request the Lord give me HIS perfect words for any I encounter so to glorify GOD I need to better arm myself with the Word of God as I felt i failed God by not being able to properly recite the 23rd psalm (didnt know the end of it).

Oh my gosh he is an idiot.
I'm sure you do not realize just how serious the Lord views such accusations at a believer.
See what Jesus Himself said:

Mat 5:22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire.

I would think an apology to the brother would very much be in order...don't you?

What has always bothered me is WHY do Christians have to copy worldly music when we are supposed to be a "unique people", and to say that we do imitate worldly music so as to draw unbelievers in is a BIG COP OUT!!
We should be composing our own sound not imitating some music that is evil personified!

Music can't be evil personofied. Music is music, it'sjust sound waves.

People are evil and good. Music is only as evil or good as what it's being used for.

Was your computer made my a christian company, is your internet through a christian provider, is all your furniture made by christian people, are all your clothes from christian stores made in christian warehouses, is all the food you eat grown on christian farms? Probably not, but I bet none of it is "evil". And while you make your new "christian only" music, why don't you go ahead and make up new notes, new instruments, and new methods of writing the music because those "evil" people have already used them producing their "evil" music.

We are supposed to be a part of this world, but not OF it. Meaning, we are aren't supposed to give into wordly things or love the things we have on Earth. We aren't suppose to be greedy, or lustful, or hateful, or fearful. Those are worldy emotions. We aren't supposed to reject all things because someone at one time used it for evil intent. If you can read Harry Potter and not be drawn to witchcraft good for you. If you can listen to secular music and not be drawn away from Him, then awesome. It's just like an alcoholic, you stay away from the things that make you stumble, and you take the other stuff in moderation. If you can drink a glass of wine or a beer or a shot and not be tempted to do more, then have something to drink, if not stay away from it. If you can play a game of Dungeons and Dragons and not be drawn into the clutches of EL DIABLO, do it, but if you can't keep a firm grasp on reality, step away from teh gaming table.

Remove the stumbling blocks from your life, but don't go pointing and shouting EVIL at benign things.

As a songwriter/singer, I have grown to love the expressions of both christian and secular artists. I have always seen music in the way that some might see a painting. The writer is creating a picture through his/her musical expression. I have played the most popular hymns of the church since my youth but have grown to love the more modern forms of christian rock and expressions of worship as well . For me, music serves a purpose, it is a tool through which entering into the presence of God is enhanced and music evolves.

And having said that, I can not discount the melodic marvels in music which serve as entertainment, which, while they may not usher me into God's presence, have certainly served to brighten my day or identify with my pain. They are emotionally stimulating, much like a love story, or a well written poem. From the captivating tones of Kenny G, to the soothing music of Celine Dion, I would no more throw out these artistic expressions, than to burn the works of Shakespeare or Johan Sebastian Bach.

I love to dance, I love to feel the string sounds, the bass guitar, the latin drums and the carefully placed crescendos which weem to transcend reality itself, if only for a moment, sending you to another place and time, breaking away from the rush of society. I have no quarrel with any rock musician who expresses him/herself through their music. Whether their talent is in their hands or in their mouth, I think that these individuals make a contribution to the world, and some to the spread of the gospel. The expression of the heart is revealed in the lyrics. So I say let them write what they will, and play as they see fit, let their message be heard, and let the onlookers and the listeners determine what message is being sent and let us see if they in fact have something to say.

Legalism, in part, is the control of physical expression, and many churches subscribe to this philosophy, what to wear, how to speak, even defining acceptable forms of entertainment as they conceal their own inner desires to enjoy life more. I say let the musicians be free, let the godless be godless, but let us not crush the spirit and stifle the gifts/talents by projecting upon others, our interpretation of how they should use them. Analysis is the preferred duty of those with idle hands.

What do you suggest draw people to church?? especially teens, or those that arent saved?? Music was given to us BY god..... Where do you find in the bible where music cant be used to draw people to church??
THE WORD SAYS "IF I BE LIFTED UP I WILL DRAW ALL MEN UNTO ME" That is the problem, Jesus is not being lifted up and glorified. Instead they just want more and more members and have to entertain people to draw them into the church. Besides that, Satan was a cherub of God for worshipping God in music so it is not a mystery why he perverts that which God has ordained to be for him and him only.

David Mustaine, a member of Megadeath got saved and is writing lyrics. His band will also not play as back up bands that are noted Satanic worshippers and they have also cancelled concerts. I just found the lyrics for a song on their new c d. and I do hope that God uses it.

Dave Mustaine Says:
October 2nd, 2009 at 4:41 am
“Attention! Attention!! All citizens are ordered to report to their District detention centers! Do not return to your homes; do not contact anyone! Do not use any cellular or GPS devices! Surrender all weapons at once! Attention! This way to the camps!
I woke up in a black FEMA box
Darkness was all around me, in my coffin
My dreams aren’t all nightmares anymore
And this is what I dream every night
The Leader of the New World Order, the President of the United States
Has declared anyone now residing inside the US of A
Without the RFID chip, you’re just an illegal alien
An enemy combatant of America, welcome to the New World Order
This is the end of the road; this is the end of the line
This is the end of your life; this is the . . .
A society in a society, inside the fence life as you know it stops
They got their rules of conduct and we got ours
Be quick or be dead, you crumble up and die, the clock is
Ticking so slowly and so much can happen in an hour
I learned my lessons the hard way, every scar I earned
I had to bleed, inside the day yard
A system of controlled movement, like a giant ant farm
Any time is long time, now you’re not in charge of your time anymore
The Ex-President signed a secret bill that can
Land a legal US Citizen in jail and the
Patriot act stripped away our constitutional rights
They say a Concentration camp just popped up, yeah, right!
Refuse the chip? Ha! Get persecuted and beat by the
Tyranny of Mind control, for the mark of the beast
All rights removed, you’re punished, captured, and enslaved
Believe me when I say, “This IS the Endgame!”
