This would never happen to the true believers whom Christ has saved, this can happen to a believer who thought that they were a true believer and thought that Christ had saved them but in all reality they were never of Christ.
Why not? Even believers can be deceived, especially if the believer removes themselves from the Bible, other believers and get caught up in the world.

ok, simple question.

if a believer come to the point were they genuinely no longer believe in Christ, and confess He is not God, but just man or even to go as far as call Him a con are they still saved?
If we believe not (after belief) he abides faithful because he cannot deny himself.......<--written to believers

or

They went out from us because they were never of us

Can you explain how the Galatians can go back to the law for justification and continue to be heirs of the promises no matter what, despite the fact that Paul said they would not?
I suggest you re-read Galatians without the loss of salvation blinders on.....

a. Those who teach faith/works salvation = false teachers, and a double cursed gospel of a different kind
b. Those who buy into such drivel = foolish and deceived

Those who have been saved, justified, sealed and sanctified in Christ have been saved, sealed, justified and sanctified eternally having been born of INCORRUPTABLE SEED

Then why is Paul telling the saved Galatians that they have no inheritance if they go back to justification through the works of the law?

The deception occurring here is the church thinking that the Galatians are still heirs even though they go back to the law for justification. Paul says they have no inheritance if they do that, but the church says they do because they can't lose their salvation. Who's deceived, Paul or the church?

LOL! Easy to say "this can never happen" - but when you have a close relative who this has happened to and I know very well he was saved, your line of saying "but in all reality they were never of Christ" makes no sense at all.

You may say, "you cannot judge eternal destiny and say that your relative was saved". And you are right - God determines eternal destiny. But you started it by saying the opposite! That my relative could not have been saved! What right do you have to make that judgment!?

You are saved by grace through faith, this happens by believing with the heart and confessing the Lord Christ Jesus.

Works are simple the evidence of living faith, and are not something you can produce on your own, you need the Spirit of God because you can't produce the works without Him.

There is the person in the trinity called the Holy Spirit, He is still active like in the book of acts today, He never stopped.

90% of bible translations today are all well and good, and saying one translation alone is the only way is kinda ignorant.

that is what i believe... what do you think lol
Agree 100% with what you say - Most here will agree with you (not all LOL!)

And if you had not added post #2 this thread may have peacefully died . . . . :p

Calling other Christians ignorant for their convictions is also "kinda ignorant".

For salvation to be lost the following must occur.....

1. Jesus is a liar

a. I will never leave you nor forsake you
b. All that the Father hath given me I will lose nothing, but raise it up the last day

2. The Power of God is weak, inept and must fail

a. We are KEPT by the power of GOD through faith

3. Christ is weak and fails in his work of faith

a. Jesus is the BEGINNER, FINISHER and COMPLETES the work of FAITH HE BEGAN IN US

4. THE words ETERNAL and EVERLASTING are LIES by GOD and actually MEAN TEMPORAL and CONDITIONAL

a. HE that believes on the son is HAVING EVERLASTING LIFE
b. ....AND I GIVE UNTO THEN ETERNAL LIFE

5. The SEALING of the HOLY SPIRIT is UNDONE and GOD LIED

a. SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION by the HOLY SPIRIT of PROMISE

6. GOD LIED AGAIN because the seed we are BORN of is CORRUPTABLE

a. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

7. John is a liar when he writes we may KNOW we have eternal life (see point 4)

a. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

8. God lied again when he inspired...

a. NOTHING shall separate you from the LOVE OF GOD

and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON......

It must be tragic to believe in a weak, inept god that cannot keep his word, his promises and one whose power is unable to keep you saved after he saved you at YOUR WORST and while in a totally LOST STATE!
I would suggest you be a little careful about calling God and Jesus a liar - All those promises you give are 100% true for the one who believes in Christ, but none of them are true for the one who does not believe in Christ. God and not man determines eternal destiny.

Why are you equating inheritance with salvation? Inheritance is not salvation. We labor for inheritance and rewards. We do not labor for salvation.

so someone who lives their whole life for Christ then in the last years chooses to reject Him was never a believer?

i wasn't calling them ignorant for their convictions, i was calling them ignorant for trying to put said convictions on other people. its fine if you believe in only one translation, it is not fine if you believe in forcing that one translation on everyone, that is ignorance.

Jesus forgave his cowardice and he later redeemed himself in a heroic fashion.
yes but according to some during the time he rejected CHRIST he wasn't a true believer, and wouldn't be saved.

Never said that or implied that at all....simply quoted JOHN concerning those who go out from among us and quoted PAUL concerning some that lose faith.......

This is possible. We have whole groups of so-called believers living for Christ that haven't been given the Holy Spirit. They only think they are doing God's will. The faith I have God has put there, and nothing can take it away. It has been tried in the fiery furnace of reality.

not saying you did, just asking you a question. say someone, say they are even a spiritual mentor to you turns from the faith and rejects Christ, does that mean they were never saved? if so how could they have ever given any spiritual advice? this happens all the time in churches.

what if one truly gives up on faith? we know faith can die, we see it in james.
