I have heard it said that americans do not understand sarcasm. Then I met New Yorkers.

In the UK it can get so bad that giving a complement is not accepted because normally it is a sarcastic joke, a bit like this thread.

Can you be sarcastic about sarcastic jokes? It hurts my head...... :)

I'm shy on witty comebacks at present, but I must say this thread is, um, enlightening. At least 15 watts worth.

The rest of the BDF can be so 'delightful' sometimes. Glad to see some shine on it.
