Saved means rescued, and you can't rescue yourself. Your saved by the grace through faith in Jesus, not the law.

SAVED means you believe and know that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and His blood washed away your sins. God loves you that much!!!! That He is your Lord and Savior and your joy now comes from Jesus because He is sufficient.

It is not saying you are now without sin because we are still human and we make mistakes. But we are forgiven! Praise God!! We are forgiven. That is the "saving grace" that you are forgiven of your sins once and for all and you have a seat at the right hand of God in Heaven when you leave this earthly life. God loves you that much!!!!!

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21).

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified" (Galatians 2:16).

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:8-10).

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost" (Titus 3:5).

No one is capable of saving themselves by their works that’s why the Just died for the unjust so that through His blood one's conscience is purged from dead works, their old self is crucified, and through faith they come into newness of life.

Well, not what Paul says...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

John adds this...

1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

It means you are saved,

1. From condemnation
2. From your works (which scripture calls filthy rags)
3. From a life of searching for something the hole which can only be filled by God.

ALL have sinned and are dead.

That is why we need saved. Because we can not stop sin.

Only one person lived a life free of sin and that is Christ.

He redeems us, justifies us.. and eventually (when we are ressurected, will glorify us (make us sinless)

Face it cobus, No one will be saved your way, because no one can stop sin.

John every sin we commit we walk after the flesh, NOT THE SPIRIT.... Read Romans 8 as well... There the same Paul says... Romans 8:13.... For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Let me ask you this, do you think Paul died a sinner or a man as holy as God is holy? I mean there is only ONE HOLINESS... God's. We are either holy or NOT!

You make it sound like this pile of flesh you are in now has a will of his own.... Flesh is only doing what teh spirit in that man tells it to do. Jesus had flesh just like you and I but HE NEVER sinned. And if Jesus is IN YOUR FLESH HE STILL DOES NOT SIN. Every person that has a holy life, a PERFECT life lives that life under the MOVING of God's Holy Spirit. Given on the day God filled you with His Spirit, and your spirit DIED! The sinning spirit died on the cross with Jesus. Do you think God said you should pick up your cross and follow Him so you can just carry a cfoss? Nope you are going to NAIL EVERY SIN on that cross, and if you nail the LAST sin on that cross, the sinning man you once were DIES ON THAT CROSS WITH JESUS...

Look who MAKES or CAUSE us to walk AS HE WANTS US TO WALK... and there is NO SIN IN THIS WALK right here in your mortal body God does this.... Romans 8:11.... But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

And look how God does this.... A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

God said... BE PERFECT... Matthew 5:48, and that is His statute for us,,,, and this is how God ensures we keep His statute... He gives us a NEW HEART, and A NEW SPIRIT... HIS!!!! And His will ALWAYS be perfect..... And the imperfect people has not the Spirit of God, as plain and simple as that. Romans says .... WE ARE NOT IN THE FLESH.... God says... WE ARE HID IN HIM.... Well the holy ones are. Does the Spirit of God not BEAR witness with the children of God... How does the Spirit witness? With sin or HOLY WORKS?

Jesus said if a person CANNOT confess Jesus came in the flesh.... IN THAT PERSON'S FLESH.... then they are NOT OF GOD... but the spirit of the anti-christ.... WOW!!!!
How does a person confess Jesus in him, with sin or a holy life? The SEED of God that remaineth in a saved person CANNOT SIN! It is uncorruptable seed... 1 Peter 1... 1 John 3.... Please do not make God's salvation a laughing and evil thing. It is still the most powerful thing on earth. NOTHING can stop God from making His cildren as perfect as HE MADE JESUS CHRIST....

That is what the Bible teach... Paul said... shall we continue to sin now that God gave grace.... GOD FORBID.... God forbid what? That we should sin... Romans 6. And did GOD not say this.... And please see the beautiful salvation of Paul and the others in this.... 1 John 4:17.... Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Now tell me this, if God makes my love perfect, and I not like Him in this world? As holy and as perfect as God.... That is not me saying this, it is GOD.... 1 John 4:17.

My friend JEsus cannot start to sin, the NEW creature you are made up to be is not you born again, it is CHRIST in you born again, and HE CANNOT sin. Christ does not have to stop sinning, that is your part, he will only LEAD you out of sin to stop. God said... HE KNOWS to deliver us from temptation.... He delivers by LEADING us OUT OF TEMPTATION.... We say.... LEad us not INTO temptation but DELIVER US FROM EVIL... If God delivers there is NO TEMPTATION AND NO EVIL OR SIN.

Hey I will continue tomorrow, the pancakes are getting cold, and the day is freezing here in George. Love you all and may this be true to all of us....
Father let THOU WILL BE DONE IN US AS IN HEAVEN, and lead us not into temptaiton BUT FATHER YOU DELIVER US FROM EVIL... AMEN!

My friend JEsus cannot start to sin,
No he can't. And I am not Jesus, and neither are you.

the NEW creature you are made up to be is not you born again, it is CHRIST in you born again, and HE CANNOT sin.

No. The new creature is me being made alive IN Christ. he gives me the ability to walk like him, but he does not remove my flesh nature. Thats why paul and all the apostles spent most of their writings telling those born of God to mature in Christ and start to live like him, and warned us about the ability to fall into temptation.

yes, he CAN deliver us, And I pray he does. But it never says he WILL lead us out. He will not force us against our will. And he did not remove the sin nature. Again, we will not be glorified (perfect) until we enter heaven.

If you truly believe in Christ without any doubts, then you are saved. But I think that we all need to build up our faith in Him in order for us to believe in Him. The one that was on the cross next to Jesus was saved for he begged Christ to not to forget him when He enter into the kingdom. But the other didn't believed at all, because he had mock at Jesus.

Matthew 14:31
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

John 20:27
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Romans 4:13
It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

Romans 5:1
[ Peace and Hope ] Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

Saved means someone else had to intervene to save us from a certain death. Then one could also take into account that we are saved for a particular purpose, like a person saving money to buy something. I don’t think that is it, even though I do think that God has a particular purpose for all who are His.

I think a lot of people are told, from behind the pulpit, that we are saved so we can go to heaven. That is true as far as it goes, but that preaching only scratches the surface, and may distort the outlook of some who have barely read scripture as to why salvation is so important.

The Roman road can be used, but the substance of the gravity is rarely defined. If we are drowning in the waves, we holler, “help” and the lifeguard swims out to save our life. If we are miles from any body of water, there is no need for a lifeguard. If we are oblivious to the real reason of salvation, and are not acquainted with the avenue God has given to bring us to the salvation, He has set before us, we will never see what salvation is really for. If that’s the case, then the motions we go through in order to claim salvation mean little, if anything at all. This scenario introduces a false conversion, and is deceiving.

Take this verse to heart and understand that you are believing in something that isn't true according to John. You are really walking on thin ice, and I hope you don't lead others astray by claiming that born again people are just as righteous as Christ Himself. Listen close to this scripture. Repeat it to yourself again and again, and pray that God will enlighten you to the truth.

1 John 1:8-9 (KJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP]If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This is the present state of the one who wrote it and us. If I remember right is was Jesus' beloved disciple that stood at the foot of the cross with Mary, the mother of Jesus. I’m sure John took care of Mary as if she was his own mother. That's a true belief, and a true love, yet he admits that he's a liar if he says he's perfect as you claim yourself to be.

He does not claim to be perfect. He actually claims he is not saved yet, because he has not got there yet.

I didn't pick that up. I suppose I was picking up his comments that he thought human nature didn't exist because he was saved on another thread DOES HUMAN NATURE VANISH AS SOON AS WE ARE BORN AGAIN?

Mistake on my part, speaking of human nature ha ha :p

Jesus has intervened for it was the fourth day which the number four is a symbol for purification or judgment and which God was coming to judge the people to see if they had redeemed themselves by the laws; but there weren't any righteous. So Jesus came to shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins and which He has fulfilled. But the devil is making sure that no one to believe in Christ and which he has the right to put us to the test to see if we hold steadfast to our faith in Christ and which he is actually strengthening our faith. So if a person hits rock bottom that believe in Christ should know that they are being tested and the Holy Spirit will show them their weak points and how to strengthen it. But at the end, God will come and heal their wounds. That is why we must love our enemies, and those whom persecuted us for we are being corrected by our Parent and which make us a child of God because He is perfecting us (The blessed saved ones that are in the Book of Life). And for the ones that aren't being corrected aren't children.

John 20:29
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Matthew 5:11
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Hebrews 12:6

because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”

Job 1:21
and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

Well said brother. Been there, and I suppose I will be again. Baptized by fire, and skim the impurities off the top, and the testing of your faith is more precious that refined gold.

1 Peter 1:6-9 (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Doesn't he understand that purification begins with a new life in Christ, and as we mature we grow in faith? How sad.
