Peter addressed the Scoffers of Old who ignored the pre-Adam social planet or prehistoric as we would say. Genesis 1:1-2, Isaiah 14:12-14 Jer. 4:23-26 Eze. 28:11-17 Matthew 13:35.
For this they (scoffers) are willingly ignorant of(Scoffers in Peters day and writing) that by the word of God (LOGOS) the heavens were of old, and that the world standing out of water (this proves the prehistoric condition of our planet, the land stood out of the water or oceans. The planet was out of the oceans in prehistoric Adam follow with then read Gen. 1:1 no light, no land, darkness and destruction. Is that a description of the process of creation by God if so, it was in a chaotic condition the planet and water and land were already created. The other planets and solar system were here prior to this account of reconstruction! They were already created before the first day! There is no record that Logos said let there be a planet, Let there be water, let there be land. It was already here “bara” created not Let which is to make appear. So every “let there be is a reconstruction” not a “bara” created from nothing in the material substance.
Returning to Peters account. 2 Peter 3:5-7 where by the world (this word is defined as the kosmos or the social order system not the planet) that social order was deluged Gen. 1:1 the condition of the planet described therein. This was the prehistoric world ruled by Lucifer (not satan well not yet) But Lucifer’s rebellion luring this social system one third of the angels and all beings upon it were destroyed by a deluge the first flood. This is the response of Peter to the scoffers of the Lord’s return and the destruction of man’s rebellion instigated in our era by satan, who was imprisoned in the bowels of THIS EARTH? (for a reason, because of his rebellion upon this planet.) Soon to be removed and replaced by Jesus Christ as our King and ruler we being His ambassadors with Him for a thousand years over this earth restored until the Father comes to be ALL and in all in new the new heaven and new earth. Rev 21&22.
But the heaven and the earth that are now by the same word of Logos are kept in store reserved unto fire against the judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
The world that then was Gen. 1:1-2 cp. 2 peter 3:6.
