Actually, one of the things I learned in Hebrew, was that we should FEAR God with terror. This reverence stuff is just watered down, modern interpretation.

I am on vacation and I don't have my Hebrew - English Lexicon, but here is what the internet says. The top meaning is terror. How many of us truly "fear" God?

Bumping an excellent 'word study' and thank you for it.....


"HE is Worthy........" ... if even those with six wings on each side of His Throne use two wings to cover their face as they continually cry out before Him, "Holy, Holy, Holy..........." - and Always will.

We haven't read enough about what goes on Before Him that is on The Throne, with those that are holy before Him that surround Him -- His Seraphims Isaiah 6 or 4 beasts Rev4:8 , the 24 Elders, His Angels, His Saints .... if one has read and had a glimpse of what has gone on in Heaven and always will - the view will be changed of just WHO we're talking about and the reaction of even those set apart for Him when they're With Him -- that should be how we approach Him now, even in prayer... for He is Holy, Holy, Holy - that even the Seraphim hide their faces from Him.

Paul also said, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God"......He also said another place..."knowing therefor the terror of the Lord we persuade men".....
