· “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4.16).

In other words, love is the material makes up the Eternal’s building in us or the “place” where should we be built?

"He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love."

Why are you trying to use any book that requires you to first translate what it is saying into words you can understand, by saying: "In other words............" ?

"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22)

We are to be edified in the presence of the Eternal (which is love - 1 John 4:16), with love as the bond of perfection (Colossians 3:14) that unites us to the individuals He has placed in our lives.
There is no use in wanting to unite with individuals (loving others) away from Christ. But it is also no use trying to build our lives in Christ, but refusing to accept those whom He brings to us.
However, in this passage from Ephesians 4:16, what Paul wanted to emphasize was the importance of growing in wisdom and good works, but never forgetting love. After all, the brethren of Ephesus were known to make the truth a rigid law to preserve unity for good works (see Rev. 2.4).
Paul then shows that no growth, whether in the body, soul or spirit, makes sense if it does not focus on love and is not consolidated through love.
May Jesus, therefore, help us to always be moved by His love in order to make His love grow in the events of our life and in us.
