We are in Johannesburg.

The humidity in Durban is high and if the temperature goes up to 30 degrees Celsius you are a non functional Zombie :)

We usually go there in April or September/October.

Cape Town is also good if you can get there when the wind is not blowing.
Many of the docs would show me pictures of their trips back home. They said that in JoBurg that they could see much changes every time they went back. More security needed by the homes..etc. It too looked beautiful in many places.

The surfers love Durban!

I like the mountain behind Cape Town. What is the name of that? Is it something to do with a Table?..or am I mixing that up?

LOL Table mountain, easy to remember.

We have good security in our homes in Johannesburg but unfortunately you need it. We just need to know and understand that God is still in control and His will be done :)

Me and my wife also considered emigration but God is keeping us here. Until he moves us we will wait.

What is making me angry is that people will pollute places with plastic bags etc and they can't clean up after themselves. Hopefully we can someday bring South Africa back to its glory days.

Speaking of Afrikaans

While in Scotland, my friend had set the GPS to French, to see if he could learn a few more french words.
.... then suddenly it stopped talking French , and I was sitting there thinking "That is the weirdest dialect of Dutch I ever heard", until I got curious and checked the settings ... and found out it had set itself to Afrikaans

:D

Thanks to everyone who has served, came home with their own challenges and paid the ultimate sacrifice, it will never be forgotten, especially beyond one day or a couple of weeks a year, you'll be in our hearts forever.

When I joined this chat last year, and abruptly came back last month I expected different beliefs but didn't expect still some Christians to act so judgmental and unkind towards one another. Yes some topics is a hot issue and people can become carried away but wow we sometimes see people's true colors. It's safe to say only Jesus was perfect and we will never live up to him. I'm sorry for the rant and apologize if this offends anyone but it's a glaring issue.

The best thing you can do is hold your head up high, keep doing what Jesus expects of you and don't get caught up in anything shallow. Focus on what's worth it!

Yes it is. I'm getting so I'm not even comfortable anymore. So full of anger, it's more like facebook. Such a low opinion of God, people think He's capricious and uncaring, uninvolved and weak, doesn't keep His promises.......it's a disgrace

Psalm 57[a]

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam.[b] When he had fled from Saul into the cave.

1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed.

2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who vindicates me.
3 He sends from heaven and saves me,
rebuking those who hotly pursue me—[c]
God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

4 I am in the midst of lions;
I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.

5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

6 They spread a net for my feet—
I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—
but they have fallen into it themselves.

7 My heart, O God, is steadfast,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul!
Awake, harp and lyre!
I will awaken the dawn.

9 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.

Laura Charlotte, which grade do you teach? I did a sink/float lab back when I taught first grade. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th now.

Throughout 2016 it's been primarily grade 1 and 2. However I've replaced other teacher's grades in the interim too. I'm qualified to teach early childhood and prep through to grade 6, nothing beyond, I'd have to go back to university to teach any higher. Your idea sounds fantastic, if you ever want any resources, let me know. I've been collecting for years on end.

I have been teaching middle school for five years, but I think I want to go back down to primary school. I loved 4th grade the best.

Thanks, if you haven't checked out pintrest, there are tons of stuff there. I get overwhelmed looking at it, though.

Prometheanplanet and mathisfun are absolutely brilliant websites. My supervisor reccomended one to me when I was studying and the other is just a God send for breaking down any mathematical concept in visualised or auditory form. I love teachers, they're so crucial in the emotional, social and academic development of a child. Amazing!
