Not so much! Considering I was born and raised in Alberta, that is saying a lot. Oh, it is pretty for Christmas, and looks lovely on the mountain tops. But I can't ski anymore, and I fell badly on the ice from a thaw in January last year, when the melting snow puddled and then froze.

Give me warmth and a place to ride my bike, any day! My good news is that the day is ending, and most of the snow has melted. It's beginning to look human again.

Perhaps living in a place for half my life with snow from September to May has warped me?? Or two months of summer just isn't enough?
Most people dislike snow here too. It is easy to fall on ice. I remember seeing little kids trying to find halloween costumes that fit over snow suits because of blizzards. I actually live 2 miles from Canada....

Please only reference real places/countries, Angela.

Canada isn't real. ---Sheesh. You can get banned for lies, ya know?

Next, you're going to tell me you went on vacation in Narnia, right? :p
Not vacationing on Alberta, living there. Not high on the tourist destination list, except for maybe Banff, Jasper and the West Edmonton Mall. (And the Calgary Stampede, but I am from Edmonton, so not to mention that!)

As far as Narnia, I thought everyone with a bit of imagination and a wardrobe had been to Narnia? I think I must have read those books at least 30 times, including 3 times out loud to my kids when they were growing up. That's a lot of reading!

You mean you haven't been to Alberta?? Surely you have heard of the tar sands? They are a favourite target of climate change Hollywood Stars. I've been to Hollywood, too! Quaint little place in California!

Is this where all the nerds gather? I may be a closet nerd. I'm pretty sure I was born that way. It wasn't a choice that I made later in life..,.like when I was 9 or something.

Actually, went to Sarnia for a week-end many years ago but that was in Ontario across the Blue Water bridge at Port Huron, Michigan. I've been to Windsor quite a few times across the river from Detroit.

Been to Maine, my son played hockey in Portland for 4 or 5 years. So that answers the hockey question. Rinks were a big deal in our lives. 2 boys played high levels of hockey, right up to pro and University hockey. (Lots of winning rings between the two of them)

Daughter was a figure skater, competed provincially then coached for quite a few years to put herself through university.

Yep! Hallowe'en costumes over the snowsuits. Cops on horses?? Maybe a century ago?? Stanley Park in Vancouver??

What was the question?

No. I don't get much of a chance to visit places.......that don't exist.

Lala Land occasionally? Does that count?

You can tease us Americans too..we can take it.
Heck, I bet Americans take credit for inventing the horse?
Wouldn't surprise me?

does that make you a nerd or a geek?
i ask that question of a lot of 'you kids', and never get the same answer!
I have been called both....I think essentially they are the same thing.

Well, I know they mean the same thing. I am happy to be a nerd and in fact when I was in High School I was in band so, I was happy being a 'band geek'. Now I enjoy accounting, so that definitely makes me a total nerd. It makes me so happy when everything balances each other. What can I say I am weird and proud of it.

and that is the most sensible answer i've heard! :)

most people compare/contrast liking sci-fi, school, particular parts of school (i.e. math and science),
reading certain types of books, etc.

and all i want is a definition! lol

my SIL has a doctorate in engineering, and he's so stinking cute!
he was telling me a story of his early years in college and how much he enjoyed it.
then he sighed and said, i was such a geek then.
so i had to say........then??? ;)
