Eph 4:4,5 there is one baptism in effect by the time Paul penned the EPhesian epistle. That one baptism being Christ's human adminstered water baptism of the great commission the ONE baptism the eunuch was baptized with in Acts 8.
Actually there are 7 , but it is evident you do not let "REAL" Biblical truth stand in your way...so yeah there is only 1...

"unity of the faith" is not speaking about what each person personally believes for there will NEVER will be unity in that. 1 Cor 13 does not teach there will be a unity in what all people personally believe but there will be dis-unity until the end of the world.

As the article I posted points out, "the faith" refers to the body of teachings of the NT, as Paul preached "the faith", Gal 1:23.

Paul did not preach one faith to one group and a contradicting faith to another group, but taught the ONE FAITH to that ONE BODY, Eph 4:4,5. a question asked so often "What faith are you" is very unbilical for it is assuming there are many faithS each person can choose among.

That body of teachings was perfected/completed by the end of the first century with John writing Revelation and the gifts ceased, vanished away.

So the gifts would last "till" there is a unity/oneness of the body of NT teachings, which occured 2000+ years ago. Gifts were given to various functions (verse 11) but while the gifts ceased some of the functions continued. The office of an apostle was meant to be temporary in revealing and confirmation of that body of NT teachings along with initially taking the gospel to the world. Prophets ceased when gifts ceased. There are still evangelists, pastors and teachers but none have the gifts.
"There are still evangelists, pastors and teachers but none have the gifts." If they are not walking by the Spirit and receiving word of wisdom and word of knowledge or discerning of spirits - I wouldn't want any of them teaching me -

I must have overlooked something - When did Jesus Christ baptize with water?

You do not understand Eph 4:11 They are the gifts. A pastor is a gift given by God to the local assembly.

Hebrews 6

[SUP]1[/SUP] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
[SUP]2[/SUP] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

"The plural form of baptism is baptisms." http://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/the-plural-of/baptism.html

More than one. :)

Oh my goodness here we go again.

Is your congregation Jewish?

Ask your pastor what he thinks the perfect of 1 Cor 13:10 is if he can tell?

Tongues are actual human languages for the record.

"For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." (1 Cor 14:2)

There was more than one kind of speaking in tongues. There were at least 3. The one in Acts 2 referred to human languages, but not the one in 1 Corinthians 14. If it were human languages, it would be a "known" tongue, and men would understand it, but Paul says its an unknown tongue and no man understands it. In fact, it isn't spoken to men like the tongues in Acts 2, but unto God.

Okay folks and I know y'all gonna shout me down while I'm preaching good. there are tongues that are received at the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and then there are the gift of tongues and the are two separate things. The gift of tongues are used in meetings and our normally interpreted. The tongues received at baptism are a prayer and ex claimants of joy that the Holy Spirit prays through us.

I accept all the real miracles that are written down in the bible and reject all the fake claims made by people today.
Do you accept or reject the teaching of the Bible that the Spirit gives gifts to the body as the Spirit wills?

Do you accept the command of scripture, 'Despise not prophesyings?' What about 'Covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak with tongues?'

Eph 4:5 "ONE baptism". Out of the 7 baptisms found in the NT one is in effect now.

In 1 Cor 14:2,4 the word "unknown" in italics was added by translators and is not in the original texts and should not be in those verses.

No one is given miraculouos gifts today, those gifts fullfiled thier purpose some 2000 years ago and ceased, vanished away.

The 'despise not prophesying' applied to the first century church when they did have gifts, not applicable today. There are no prophets of God today, just false prophets.

Biblical teaching is readily accepted. Modern Pentecostal teaching is easily rejected because it does not agree with biblical teaching.

Biblically these are readily accepted but in the context of modern Pentecostalism they must be rejected. Prophecy today is the forth-telling of what is written in Gods word. This we do not despise as long as the speakers agree with the prophets of old. Conjecture drawn from mans intellect passing as fortune telling, not so much. Tongues as known languages are readily received but tongues as unknowable utterances are pure folly. Those who claim to discern spirits are the least likely actually to do so.

No need to shout as that falls flat on it's face without any help.

There is no record of any tongues that were not human languages. Paul is using hyperbole to make his point. God by the way understands us in any language so speaking to Him in an unknown tongue is impossible.
