Really? What thread proved I did not know what the Church of Christ Believed? Strange, I never saw that one. I assure you I do know what the Church of Christ believes. People are not born sinners! The book of Revelations is not for today!! Its already past!! Salvation is by repentance and Water baptism only!! You must be water baptised to be saved! ...how am I doing?
What part did you not understand that this thread is not a bashing thread?
FYI, you've totally misrepresented the views of many in the church, AGAIN. You had a PREACHER of the Church of Christ tell you what the beliefs are and you still spew lies. The OP, asked to stop with the bashing. Out of respect I will not continue on in this thread about the issue.
You made your own thread titled "Church of Christ". Why aren't you posting in that one?

I'm having a similar issue with my church. It is not a matter of doctrine, it it just a matter of things in the church that are out of order and nothing is being done to correct these issues. I have been there for 7 years, and i dont want to leave. not sure what im gonna do

I think many issues within churches today is while their doctrine MAY be ok, their attitudes are not. They stray away, and then before you know it the congregation is a whole mess.

I used to attend a congregation that was very conservative. Then in the Summer they started having Wednesday services at homes. Nothing wrong with congregating at home, but when you have this huge building on a highway and the meeting hours are posted by the street and people drive by and see no cars in the parking lot during meeting hours then what does that leave people to believe?
Then I find out that after they meet at church members homes they have swimming parties afterwards. I went to one service at a members home. The preacher taught a lesson on modesty. As soon as the last prayer was said the teens were stripping down in their bikinis, and boys in their bare chests and hopped in the pool.

That was the last time I associated with that congregation.
The minister also left the congregation too.

Somone who wanted me to go to his church boasting during the services many of the men have bloody Marys in the recreation room. The person did not understand how I believe, and I certainly do not understand how he believes..........it was a co-worker at that time.

When I got saved It was through a pentacostal church, I became deeply involved, but after 7 years I started noticing practices and attitudes that didn't match up with what the Bible teaches, I myself became very judgemental, self righteous, legalistic, and religious, so I left, but now I feel lost, what do you continue to believe and what do you toss out? I'm trying to find a good church, but I've just about given up on that. Can someone help me?
Matthew 6:33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

1 John 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We are in the falling away that the Bible describes. If we read Jesus' words in Matthew 24, we can see it right in front of our face. I have heard from many people being born and raised in the spirit in the Pentecostal church, without going into doctrines of tongues and baptisms, I will say this one thing - hope it helps. My dad used to say, "People are their own worst enemies," so pray and read on your own and through hope tomorrow won't be hard to face. My favorite scripture is: Romans 5:1-5 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

I've seen this once before. You are inside a spiritual network (similar to soul ties) that says it is of God, but is not. So it is spiritually affecting you. You should leave that church like greased lightning, repent for following ungodly leadership and find a new church or none at all.
And what of "not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is"?
