Jesus didn't kill Himself, Stephen didn't kill Himself either. Saul did, he did it out of cowardice didn't he? God told Saul.to kill himself? No, Saul.asked his armor-bearer to kill him, but, Jesus, oh, YES! Jesus willingly gave up Himself when the time had come for the Son of man to be delivered up...

Big difference!

Jesus didn't kill himself intentionally. His accusers INTENTIONALLY killed Him.
Well, then I guess it's Man attempting to get himself killed: 1, Lions: 0. That sounds a little confusing though, doesn't it? Anyway, this is kind of beside the point. For someone to make a claim about Scripture you'd think they'd have Scriptural evidence to support it. I don't disbelieve this teaching because I've had someone I cared about commit suicide. I disbelieve it because I've seen no evidence for it. In all likelihood there's evidence explicitly against it.

Matthew 12:31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Now if someone can argue how suicide is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, then they'd have a case. But let's keep in mind that there are different kinds of blasphemies, too, and the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is a very specific act. And let's also keep in mind that rejecting God's work through Christ (i.e. the Gospel) is the only sin that people are destroyed for.

Matthew 12:32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Let us stop splitting hairs here, Jesus had to allow Himself to be murdered by man. Just as suicide by police seems to be a valid term for most, so is this. He gave His life willingly. Many have done the same over time. Some for valid reason some for invalid reason. I know my Savior gave His life for all who accept His beautiful and wonderful gift. He is my Savior and of all repented sinners. How could anyone possibly diminish His gift by using the word, suicide. Like it or not, laying down one's life is just that.

Now my point here is to listen and believe Him when He teaches Judge not and you will not be judged. I ask people not to judge anyone to damnation, this is not ours in this present age to do. The only judgment Jesus, Yeshua, has taught us to execute is to judge for ourselves what is right, not for others and, God forbid, not for our Father. He says through Paul, He will justify the ungodly, so do not judge anyone to damnation, it is not ours to do.

Suicide (from Latin sui caedere, to kill oneself) is the act of intentionally ending one's own life. It is considered a sin in many religions, and a crime in some jurisdictions. On the other hand, some cultures have viewed it as an honorable way to exit certain shameful or hopeless situations. Persons attempting or dying by suicide sometimes leave a suicide note.

Do not confuse the question in the post by including Stephen who was spontaneously murdered by an heinous crowd of unconverted Jews! Confusing varied examples is confusion.

Some considerations....
the statement that Jesus commited suicide, false, for Jesus gave himself up as a living sacrifice for us, in obedience to God Our Father.
Suicide is not an act of obedience.
There is no debate that we should not judge those that commit suicide, for this is God's judgement alone.
But there is another considerration as to suicide.
It is a sin act of violence, we cannot judge the heart of those that do this, but suicide is flesh based.
Wether one is smothered in despair or doing so out of hate.
Because suicide is an act of flesh.
A freind of ours did this about 20 years ago, a coworker of my husband.
He took his life to punish those in athority, his letter stated this, speaking to his death as payback.
But the ones that trully payed the price were his children and wife.
The memory, hitting them in the face every time they walked in the doorof their home, as it was there that he took his life.
From his children he stole a father, protector, provider and the love that should have been given to them.
He stole the love that should have been given his wife, the marriage, the helper, the comfort, the streangth, the life promised.
He stole and corrupted the friendships that were and should have been, my husband was devastated by it.
At first wondering why, but then, seeing it for the act of selfishness that it was.
But forgiving and praying that God would be merciful to his friend.
I agree we cannot judge, but we cannot excuse through understanding.
Simply because suicide is a sin, that takes ones own life, and brings great injury to those that loved the person.
Thus why what Jesus did was never suicide, for Jesus gave His life in obedience to God Our Father, as a living sacrifice for our sins.
Suicide is not done to help any, but steals life and injures many, a rejection of love and life, an act of flesh.
Thankfully we have a loving God who is merciful and whos understanding no one can fathom, who is the one who judges.
What ever the reason one commits suicide, compassion yes, understanding yes, but never excuse, for one of the many streangths given of God is to fear Him.
Scripture says that the theif comes to steal, kill and destroy, suicide as all sin is the tool of this theif.
But mercy and compassion are the fruits of the love of God, may we always be covered in these fruits.
Never excuse any sin, but always, show mercy and forgive.
As mercy and forgiveness are also fruits of the love known and given in Jesus.

May we pray always, for those that struggle in this or any sin, that the salvation and love of Jesus, will open the eyes of their hearts, and heal them with His love.

In Jesus, God bless

The thing to remember that if a person decides to commit suicide, he or she is already in a personal place of torment. Happy people don't commit suicide. Miserable ones with no hope commit suicide. Think of all of the reasons to take your own life. They will not end simply because your body is gone. They will multiply a hundred fold because they are mental and spiritual issues, and now that the body is gone, there will be nothing left but the bad feelings and self-condemnation. Wouldn't that be hell?

Yes, if a person uses a method which is slow, they can certainly repent, but repentance to the Lord brings love, peace and joy and happiness, and a feeling of oneness with the Lord, so the reason for suicide will be gone, but now there is no hope left in this life for the person to live in this world and enjoy and share them with others.

God's way would be to cast all your cares upon Him and kill of the bad feelings and doubts and fears rather than to kill the body and live with those things forever, or to repent and enjoy the fruits of repentance for a few moments.

Person should never deprive their friends and loved ones of the joy and hope which they could have given them by killing their own body.

It doesn't say anywhere that suicide is either a sin, nor not a sin. But Jesus knows what pain feels like. And I'm sure He understands that things happen for a reason.

You can look at it two ways 'To Hell with you, Sinner', or 'I forgive you. your pain was great. Be with me'.

Up to you. :)
