I have some more questions. Dragonslayer are you less guilty than I am because I have tattoos? If I kill my son if ever he is uncontrollably disobedient, will there be enough of God's grace for me then? If I get my tattoos removed, will I have earned my right to call myself a Christian then?

Even getting your tattoos removed won't satisfy DragonSlayer because to remove tats you must scar the skin. Apparently you just can't win…

I used to be a witch and I have pierced ears. I guess I was saved only to be sent to hell because of the piercings. And then there's the issue that I think tattoos aren't a big deal. Sigh. Pray for my soul!

Hi Duchess. I think Slayer's intentions are good but he comes across the wrong way not meaning to. I didn't want him to feel as if I was attacking him since I was just sharing my understanding (which is often wrong). It's just that the scriptures I posted, if read, seem to be fairly straightforward in meaning and that anyone who condemns us for tattoos and piercings, in all actuality, are condemning themselves at the same time. Their blade turns back on them because they are as guilty as us all.

We can try to twist the word of God around to suit ourselves as much as want, but the bottom line, is that you are not fooling God. You may feel better about yourself if you talk yourself into thinking that things that God does not like, are okay. You can turn your conscience to support it, your friends can tell you its okay, people on this website can tell you it's okay. But the bottom line is that it is NOT okay. And if it's not okay with God, its just not okay. Don't fool yourselves. Be real Christians, not superficial. Tattoos are not okay with God.

In that case, take an awl and push it through his earlobe into the door. After that, he will be your servant for life. And do the same for your female servants.
To become a bondslave in the old testament you had to have an awl pounded thru you earlobe and into the temple door. Does this mean pierced ears are ok? Maybe..IDK.

Here is another scripture about ear piercing. Here God is speaking of the things He gave Jerusalem and how she has been unfaithful. So I can conclude a pierced ear and nose is OK, but I won't let my daughters or wife have a nose ring. LOL

9“Then I bathed you and washed off your blood, and I rubbed fragrant oils into your skin. 10I gave you expensive clothing of fine linen and silk, beautifully embroidered, and sandals made of fine goatskin leather. 11I gave you lovely jewelry, bracelets, beautiful necklaces, 12a ring for your nose, earrings for your ears, and a lovely crown for your head. 13And so you were adorned with gold and silver. Your clothes were made of fine linen and were beautifully embroidered.. Ezekiel 16

I don't believe there's a way of justifying tattoos. It's unnatural and God is known not to approve of things that are unnatural. If he wanted humans to be colorful and have designs then he would have made us born with wings,pedals,fur...all that. He's approved of wearing clothes, why can't you find expression through that? Or paintings or something. Hang those on your walls, not put in on your skin.

Anything that's done through your blood is a sacrifice. Blood is a very sacred thing. Jesus died on the cross to SHED HIS BLOOD for our sins. When a baby is born, there's alot of BLOOD involved with the birth. When God brought the plague to Egypt, he told the Jews to smear BLOOD on their homes. When you talk about your family, you refer to them as YOUR BLOOD. When you make an unbreakable commitment, you call it a BLOOD pact. Deceases are contracted 100% through your BLOOD. Your blood is the essence of who you are. It is your life source.

Now how do you feel about putting a tattoo on your skin? There's no way your not going to bleed. And believe it or not that ink gets absorbed into your bloodstream too.

Artificial cardiac pacemaker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How about artificial cardiac pacemakers? Those are unnatural too, that's why they're called 'artificial'. Should Christians refuse to use lifesaving medicinal technology because "God is known not to approve of things that are unnatural"? Please provide Bible verses.

Rom 2:1 Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. 2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. 3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? (ESV)

Wow. Go all the way why don't you? You NEED a pacemaker to live. You don't need tattoos to live. Let's keep this in perspective here and try not to troll.

This is the Bible Discussion Forum, that means discuss the Bible here.

2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

James 3 Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.

I gave my opinion and shared what I know.
Off topic;
I'm not known to give out verses because I'm admittedly not good at remembering things word for word expect for what verses I feel are important to me. Can I tell you what happened in the book of Job? Yes. Can I explain what the message was? Yes? Can I back up what I said with verses? No. I'd need a Bible for that. But I can assure you that I accept the Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul and love him just as much. I belong in the forum just as much as you do weather I am a believer or a non-believer. So don't you dare accuse me of being judgmental unless you are Jesus himself.

YOU don't understand ! Did you read well what I wrote or did you automatically deduce I was some kind of " fundamentalist " and just poured me with your own loose interpretation of Scriptures ?
Don't be fooled by your clouded judgment,
I have nothing to learn from people who think it's heretical to follow the Lord's Will as a little child !
Shame to these false accusations of yours !
Oh my the legalism.

If I believe it is wrong and even sinful to get a tattoo that is my own business. If I tell you will burn in Hell for getting a tattoo then I am being judgemental. Here people are sharing their opinions on tattoos and I can't recall seeing anyone here condemning others for having tattoos. Furthermore, there is a Scripture that does state "Do not get a tattoo".

Honestly, by you pointing your finger at others and saying they are being judgemental is a form of being judgemental.

So maybe we can all stop the name calling and strive for unity as there is no condemnation against those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)

Twisting scripture by saying it's okay to have tattoos and piercings. The Bible clearly states that we should not do this, as it is not pleasing to God. People keep trying to justify that it is okay and twist it around to suit them. That's what I mean by twisting scripture... twisting it around to suit us.

the levitical law you get this from about tattoos (pertaining to idol worship btw) also states we are to burn witches, kill homosexuals, and stone our children to death if they are too disobedient. have you participated in any of these types of killings lately?

And if not, why? are you twisting scripture in some way that says you don't have to participate in these types of killings? if so, can you please point me to the scripture that relieves you of these duties?

Clearly seems you just don't get the point. You are so far from it, that there is really no point trying to explain it to you.

And clearly the Bible teaches us not to kill anyone, so there are my verses that relieve me of my duty to kill witches, homosexuals or children. We are taught not to kill anyone at all. What verse relieves you of being able to have a tattoo?

the bible also teaches to kill them at the same time its teaching about idol worshiping tattoos and piercings. you say we are so ignorant of scripture, please tell me why you dont kill these types any more? the 10 commandments were given at the same time the levitical law to kill these types of people was given. please explain so we might understand using scripture why one is not ok and the other is.

When Jesus came, he said I give you a NEW Testament. In the Old Testament they killed these people, but Jesus said I tell you not to kill at all, but to love your enemies. Jesus did not change the law about marking or cutting your body, he changed the commandment about killing. Jesus has put the 2 NEW commandments into effect, which you could say all 10 of the commandments in the Old Testament include. In the old testament, 5 of the commandments were pertaining to God, and 5 of the commandments were pertaining to your neighbour. Jesus put all 10 commandments into just 2.... Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbour as thyself. Jesus taught to love your enemy, not kill them. If we keep those 2 commandments, we will automatically fulfil the whole 10 commandments. If you love someone, you will not kill them. There is no exemption from cutting your body or marking your body in the new testament. There is also no exemption on eating blood, as that is carried over as well. There are very few commandments carried over to the new testament, and these are some that have been carried over. Hey, if you want to get a tattoo or piercing, that's up to you. I am just saying what we read in the Bible that pleases God and what doesn't. Jesus gave us a new commandment to love, not kill, and that is why that part of the Leviticus law is overruled. I cannot find any part in the new testament to overrule the markings on your skin or cutting, and if you can, please let me know the scripture.
