Does the Holy Spirit not do the "reaching"?
By all means allow me to rephrase so your super spiritual self is satisfied.

Funny thing about this whole subject your statement here. I know many brothers and sisters that are tattooed from the crown of their heads to the soles of their feet and were that way before coming to Christ and are sons and daughters of God, who the HOLY SPIRIT works through and reaches people with tattoos for Christ that you and I could never reach.|

I am being this way, because anyone of any kind of spiritual maturity knows that the Holy Spirit works through people to reach the lost, so I did not feel compelled to have to say it.

you don't have to be 'spiritual' any more than a 3 year old who trusts yahweh.

consideer it like smoking. a 3 year old watching someone pollute themselves with smoking or with tattoos can see the harm done each day to their body, life, testimony , and others around them....

when someone repents of smoking or of tattoos, the healing process starts immediately, as a 3 year old can see,
and even though the tattoos don't ever go away usually, the polluting power of them can by God's Grace.

the testimony of someone saved from smoking or from the deception/pollution of tattoos is that
GOD set them free by GRACE in JESUS, not in themselves or in their own power (but with their willing choice, yes).

and thus the testimony of the grace of GOD in JESUS is true and working so others can see it in the lives of those who have been saved.

That's subjective. Many people think tattoos look good, show not bad representation of a person and i've seen many Christians use their Christian tattoos as an opportunity to witness.
Disagree wholeheartedly.

Tattoos disfigure and mar the skin. God says not to disfigure ourselves or mar our bodies. It's unattractive, especially if you have them all over your body, and serves no biblical purpose. And you cannot "witness" to someone by using a tattoo..that's ridiculous, IMO.

I see that your self-righteous attitude has resulted in me getting a snide and non-Christlike reply. Spiritual maturity, indeed.

According to the flawed line of logic of those here who love tattoos, I guess I need to be a drunk to reach drunkards, a whoremonger to reach whoremongers, or a thief to reach thieves.
Funny that the Holy Spirit reached me through a man on TV I used to ridicule and didn't identify with.

Repentance is key. Once someone repents of something, they don't usually keep defending it with a religious fervor (like the pro-tattoo crowd here are).
Tattoos are just the latest fad. Because of that, hardly anyone sees anything wrong with having them. If the majority opinion were that tattoos look scuzzy and/or shady, I would suspect that most of those who defend them today would be on the opposite side and saying they look stupid. It's all about what's trendy.

Yes, I do know that. I'm just stating what I think is causing this mindset -- i.e. carnality.
The Bible was written thousands of years ago, but by an eternal God.

Friend, something that has been going on for thousands of years can hardly be called a fad. :p

But it is. You've lived a little longer than I have and even I've seen it go in cycles. I'm not referring to the small segment of people who always had them throughout history, but rather to the masses. If Christ should delay His return, I would think that we'll reach a cycle where most people think they're ugly again.
I might add that Christians never seemed interested in this sort of thing in the past, but the fads of the world are influencing people seemingly like never before.

it's multiplied greatly from being illegal twenty years ago in places, to being on many deceived people at church and sunday school... in the same cities where it was illegal....

definitely big time 'fad' the last few years, promoted wickedly and shamelessly, and all 'bad'..... like the rest of the world....

as in the days of noah, the world with its whole poopulation doesn't care - just goes on sinning more and more, worse and worse, until the end....
