In the midst of your afflictions you have found yourself on a day of thanksgiving. The irony, how you may yet feel stricken yet the day calls for praise. What shall you do? Will bitterness be the anchor of your depression or will you find the peace of mind to give glory where it is due? Is there not one thing in this life that you are indeed grateful for? Be not cynical. Consider it.

Start small. Be sincere, find within yourself a place of contentment that in the hands of God lays every aspect of your life. This God, the one and true, mind you, is for you. Does this not ignite a fire in you, if not an ember? Thank you Lord, that within your grasp are the keys to my deliverance. Thank you Lord, that it is your will to deliver me, because you are faithful and true. Thank you Lord, that love keeps no record of wrongs and you love me. Do you see? How much praise truly can be found to share when you know the truth?

It is deception that binds you. It is gratitude found within the truth of His word that will be the first step to freedom. Lay your burdens before the Lord, He is with you. He is for you. Praise Him for this truth. Seek the truth, truly seek the Lord, but know the truth and let the lies fade. Once you know it, believe. Thank Him for the truth in prayer with full expectation of its reception. Why? He, your Father, is not a liar. For this too may you be grateful, for when He speaks He shows Himself to be faithful. As He spoke the world into existence, so will His promises be carried out. Thank you Lord.
