In my walk with the Lord I have heard this statement more times than I can count. I also wonder where has it come from
and I want to know what do you all think about none christians telling christian how they are suppose to act?
I am a KJV reader so I speak the way it does according to this Bible, and I am not a grammer expert, but will do my best,,,,
do you understand why is it that God said, .....

Be ye Angry; but sin not.. but if you get angry,,, you are not christian like?

Rebuke, correct a brothern in the spirit of meekness and in love.. But if we tell some one that the life their living, if they go unrepentent and die in their sins, it is now considered as judging?

And this is the greatest to me, and very hard to understand where do people/ christians
get it from.
If you disagree with them and tell the TRUTH, not your opinion, But the Word of God and the revelation and not your own interpretation; it is said that you can not go against " Their Opinons or Their interpretation " not what God has revealed to them by his Holy Spirit as the Bible say, God will lead us and guid us in ALL Truth by?

The bible clearly tells us to preach the Gospel truth, why has it been omitted, were we just talk to people and tell them that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of, as to tell them it is ok that you are the way you are and I am not the one to let you know that without Christ Jesus, you will die and go to hell, I am not the one to help you ackowledge that God has paid a price and you don't have to live the way you do, and I am not the one to tell you that sins will be punished if not repented of through salvation in Christ Jesus.
It's as if to say that I got my salvation and I will not be right in God sight because of pass sins as well as I am not perfect yet so I have to wait till "I " deliver myself ( pull the plank out my eye to pull the speck out of your's but what about those who pulled the log out of their eyes and can see clearly what is in the eyes of their brothern?
and what about the Blood of Jesus does it not no longer do what God said it will do ( wash us as white as snow) and what God said he will do by his Word ( cleanse us of All unrighteousness) since when is it that we have to do it by ourselves, and of ourselves?
there has been so many things that man has adopted as doctrine. please tell me what is it you have seen and hopefully someone can help me understand,,, and that I will know that I am not the only one that God has shown this to.. I know there is nothing new under the sun.. God has also giving me the understanding why.. I will post that later... yes I do believe what he has said, and everything line up with the Word of God. Just want to know if anyone else see and hear the same things. and what did the Lord tell you and how to handle it..
do we just keep preaching? or do we just let them go to hell as with those they tell these things to? do we tell the truth at all cost? or do we sit back in the cut and see many be deceived with false doctrine no matter how simple it seems? do we just pray and keep our mouths shut, because we already know what others will say? even if what we know they will say is not according to scripture? uggggggg !!! so many questions,,,

So tell me what, when, where, and how... I will appreciate it if the response is backed up with the Word of God... because man's opinions is one of the reasons I am asking all this. no offense, hope none is taking... but if we take the time and ask God he will help you to answer all things... but if you want to give your opinions.. they are welcome as well but will not weigh against the Word of God. it will be just that; an opinion, God's Word is truth and fact when rightly divided and kept in it's contents of where and why it was written... THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS,,,,,

yes cookie so true, but being legalistic with doctrines of man doesnt help in any way, me personally i say scripture in "it is written form" then get hammered for chapter and verse, if it was good enough for my Jesus to say "it is written" its good enough for me, i say that cause you made that a pre requisite, your perogative. In saying that i ll say no more, and yes i can go "back it up with scripture " but better for others to ask, seek and knock for if they are truely seeking the truth they will seek it forthemselves

with love and all due respect in Christ Jesus

The Bible says be angry but sin not.

You may get angry because of the way a person treats you,or an unpleasant circumstance in your life, but do not sin because of it,like curse or fight a person, and don't hate the person.

That anger is only known to us,so nobody knows we are angry, because we do not show it,for we will be angry, but we are not to sin because of that anger.

The Bible says let not the Sun go down on your wrath, and put away anger from you.

If you get angry do not sin because of it,but keep your Christian attitude, and put that anger away from you.

Nobody should know you got angry, for you keep showing your Christian attitude, and get that anger out of you.

God knows that we will get angry sometimes, but we are not to sin because of it.

If someone breaks into your house, you might get angry, but do not sin, like if you know who did it and go beat up the person, and get rid of that anger.

You might get angry because of the way some people treat you,but do not sin because of that anger, like curse of fight back, and get rid of that anger.

thank you, may I ask what do you think about when Jesus got angry and we know it was righteous anger... why was it allowed for him to show his anger and used a wip, and hit people with it?
and also when he cut down the Saudicees and Pharicees with all the things he called them many things that was really not nice. and told thing about how they lived there lives?

I know he is God in the flesh, but how can we follow if the one who leads is doing something contray to what he is teaching? ( not saying he actual is) but other will say,, he is God, or it is righteous anger, or as I heard lately; he was not Christ while he was on earth or there was no christian while he was here.
christians was called christian in the book of Acts first... but we know it was only said because we are followers and believers of Jesus Christ and all that he talk and done.
didn't Jesus have believers with him every day, did not they also follow him, his teachings, and his miracles while he was here?
doesn't the bible teach that he is God, the Word of God, John 1,, in the begining was the Word and the Word was with God, the Word was God,,,,,,,, and the Word was made flesh? and Peter say, "Lord thou art the Christ the son of the living God " to him before they crucified him. so if Christ can have righteous anger why can't we.

I know we are not to go beating on people,, one reason you might loose,, lol and another you might end up in jail. but to be angry and tell someone what they have done or to do something that need to be done. don't make you not Christ Like.

if you want to tell someone to get out of your house, because they are disrespecting it and you are upset/angry because of them; do you wait till you calm down to ask them to leave... say the Husban/man or even the women of the house have to forcefully remove this person; not to hurt them but to get them out of your house; can we do it? do they allow this person to stay inside while being rude and outright disrespectful, till the police come even if it will take the law a long time to come? as christians what are we to do in situations like this or anything simular?

It's not a sin to be angry. For those of us who properly study scripture, we know that the bible says it is a sin to be angry without a cause. , look it up, Matt 5:22 "whoever is angry with his brother without a cause".

Jesus is not talking about getting angry because you were offended, sinned against, hurt, or because of seeing injustice, or because of the devil or false doctrines. Jesus here is talking about people who have murderous and hateful hearts and hate people without cause!

Hi Cookie

Be ye Angry; but sin not.. but if you get angry,,, you are not christian like?

We do get angry. But we can't stay in anger. If we do we are in sin. If we stay in anger it will turn into hate. God does not stay angry long. We are to forgive right away and get over it if we are children of God.

Remember how Jesus told things in parables? He didn't always come right out and say you and you are doing things wrong. He knew they weren't ready to hear this.

Don't cast your pearls before swine. Lots of times we can't walk right up to someone and tell them of the wrongs they are doing because they aren't even filled up with God yet, or if they have been in God for a long time they could think they are perfect in his sight. They would just get all mad at us and then how could we try and minister to them. People are broken and need to be filled up with love.

We must be very careful not to be condemners. All people are all equal in the sight of God. God loves everyone the same even when they are in sin. Sometimes they just need to be shown love and shown the right way by watching us.

Sometimes when we know we can't talk straight to them we must pray for the Lord to talk to them. If they get mad at us and turn away from God because of us we will be held accountable.

I do not read KJV I read Complete Jewish Bible...lol like it matters....

26 Be angry, but don't sine - don't let the sun go down before you have dealt with the cause of your anger; 27 otherwise you leave room for the Adversary. 28 The thief must stop stealing; instead, he should make an honest living by his own efforts. This way he will be able to share with those in need. 29 Let no harmful language come from your mouth, only good words that are helpful in meeting the need, words that will benefit those who hear them. 30 Don't cause grief to God's Ruach HaKodesh, for he has stamped you as his property until the day of final redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, violent assertiveness and slander, along with all spitefulness. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted; and forgive each other, just as in the Messiah God has also forgiven you.

Anger is a valid feeling given by G-d.... can we sin (do I) in it YES... the whole thing needs read in context.... the fruit of the Spirit is self-control.... and He gives us just that even in our anger. And forgive before bed-time... a thing that helps me... I ask myself will I be angry for 40yrs over this...no...20?...no...10...OY!!! I might as well choose to foregive and let go now.

thank you all, praise be to God for your insight, and I can recieve it for it is the truth in the Word of God... I know there will be times as Mahogysnail as pointed out and as to the resons we will get angry, as well as the rest as to how long we should stay angry.
That is one of the first things God taught me is to not " Hold " a grudge. but I need the Lord to calm me down when it comes to people misuse of his Word. it is one thing if you want to believe a lie but a hurtful thing when you teach it to others.....it has become the hardest thing to walk away from. Yet I praise God he do help me with understanding of why people will do that to his Word.
again, I thank you all and God bless you

hey cookie,

well, 1st things 1st. how can any non-Christian say how a Christian should act?!!

plenty of peoeple have seen my anger, some saw it while I was behind the pulpit. we live in a dying world where every time you turn around the government or someone in your neighborhood or somebody on your job or at school is trying to take God outta the picture! of course we get angry!! but guess what? I don't know of anyone or have I ever heard of anybody saying that was seen as an angry person. I don't get violent or cuss at people. I don't dream of evil things I can do to them, either. but I can speak my mind as anyone else, and if they sense anger in my vioce, then good!!!! maybe they're getting the point.

now, judging has become an ace card for alot of people. I've had this one thrown up in my face before by non-Christians, but I believe alot of Christians I know are a little off on this subject, too. in some cases it's completely right to judge. but people try to thrown that ace card up in your face when you do. that's because they don't know God's Word! Jesus Christ commanded, " judge righteous judgement" jn. 7:24 paul said, "he that is spiritual judgeth all things" 1st co. 2:15 we can't judge the intentions of a man's heart, because only God can do this....

so stand strong, keep the faith and keep fighting the good fight,

blake

I find that my anger is different from the anger that I feel from God towards certain things. When Jesus was at the temple, (and we should remember that He was filled with the Holy Spirit from the time of His baptism,) He grew angry with the people who were making His Father's house into a money pit, and this anger is righteous anger.

I say that we have the Spirit of the living God in us, and when we hear or see things which make Him angry, then we act on that anger. In the same fashion, when we see something that makes Him sad, or happy, or indignant, that we act on that also.

When Jesus said to judge with righteousness judgment, He meant with God's judgment, just as Paul affirmed when he wrote that he who is spiritual judges all things. When we judge from our own sense of right and wrong, we are not judging with righteousness judgment, but with that judgment which came from the fruit of good and evil, which was our death.

And how do we know God's judgment? We hear Him, we listen to Him, we ask Him and listen for His reply by His Spirit.

we have God's Word. He gave us His Word so we could know right from wrong. the Word comes before all. because the Holy Ghost will only back God's Word up. if you ever hear something you think is from the Holy Spirit and it differs from God's Word, it's not of the Spirit of God.

I judge this from the Spirit of God. In this you have made the word to be an idol. The Holy Spirit uses the word, to teach us. He is the teacher, and He is the Spirit of truth.

That is very true. He said that He did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Of course, He brought us peace with God, but to the world, and all that is of the world..........a sword.

We don't judge. We love the evil doers and pray. Yes we can know they are wrong. We are not stupid. We can pray for the Lord to rebuke them.

It does the Lord no good if people see us screaming at people and acting all mad. Do we think for a minute any problem on this earth is too big for God? Peace be still.

Yes the Spirit who lives inside of us gets very grieved and we can feel His torment over what all is happening. But we must remember we are the light.

No matter what sin anyone is doing we are forgivers. We pray and let God fight the battles.

I didn't read the whole thing but here is what I think from the parts of it that I did read! :)

When it comes to your question about~do you just stop preaching and let them go to hell? No...rather live strong and excel in your knowledge of Gods Word..As God wants you (us) too. And God will allow for that moment of preaching and prophesying to emerge!

You (we) are the Lords art work/tool(s)! He makes you (us) the way you (we) are for a reason! All he wants you (us) to do is live by His word and be ready to work for Him when the time is right.

Sit back and enjoy all the beautiful gifts and joys that God has provided you (us) with and be ready for the day that He works through YOU! :)

My Father is an Ordained Minister and shared a story with me a few years ago~~He was preaching to his friends, in college, on the steps one day and they all laughed in his face and ACTUALLY SPAT in his face!!
My Father was devastated and asked, "God..I'm not going to preach to people anymore. They always spit in my face and call me names and say how I'm not a good christian and I'm a freak!"
God spoke to my Father and said, John...you are doing all the right things. You have done what I prepared you to do with them! You didn't get angry at them and follow their careless ways..instead you fought back with my Word!"
That's all that God asked~that my Father prepare himself (God molded him and painted him) for when God was ready to use him!!

Again~those are just my thoughts about the part that I read!

God Bless!
