Haven't had time to read all the posts, but
A DESCRIPTION of a false prophet is simply this:
Anyone that prophesies to lead people away from Christ;
Anyone that has rotten spiritual fruit in their lives;
Anyone that speaks truth, but has their own personal motive for doing so
Anyone that speaks anything other than encouragement, edification, or exhortation.
The NT says we will know if a prophet is a true prophet or a false one by their fruit. If they are proven false, we are to IGNORE them, not stone them. IF we are to know them by their fruit, then we do not base our determination of them upon the fulfilment of what they have spoken coming to pass.
Maggie
Jonah's prophecy didn't come to pass because Niveh listened and repented, but he is still numbered among the true prophets of the Lord. i wonder if this generation will listen?

A good example of a false prophet,is the New Age religion,new christianity,to where they separate Jesus and Christ,and Jesus becomes a Teacher,an ascended Master,one of many ascended Masters,who work with mankind to help them to come together,which will mature at the age of Aquarius,the age of peace,where anyone can achieve the Christ consciousness like Jesus,and ascend to a higher plane,and divinity is in all mankind.

Jesus does not become the savior,the only way to the Father,but a great Teacher to help guide people to enlightenment,like people before Him,and people after Him,and anyone can receive the Christ consciousness,so their door to salvation is not Jesus,but resides in the person,who can be like Christ and ascend to godhood,by occult practices and disciplines.

Although they are false prophets,they are not too disguised,for it is really easy to see through them,that it is all about man,the theme of the beast system,and they do not like fundamental Christianity,although they think that in the many branches that it can serve as a John the Baptist,a nucleus through which world illumination may be accomplished,which they want the Christian Church to embrace the New Age concept of christianity,and they do not believe that the plan to bring in world peace can fully establish the Golden Age of Aquarius,until fundamental Christianity is outlawed or destroyed.

There are people who claim fundamental Christianity,but have beliefs that they held at the first that are wrong,or slowly changed through the years.Some people who are big leaders in the fundamental realm,so they claim,are dangerous when they change to a more relaxed position,not upholding Jesus.
interesting I haven't really studied the New Age movement though it is very pervasive and perhaps I should look more into its lies and illusions the Enemy is using to deceive God's chosen. hmm...

]WAIT!!!! what???? I live in North carolina my whole life...... 1999 I was 16 in high school at the time. hmm...creepy..]

"We opened the invitations up to the nine-targeted states hoping to get qualified intercessors from each state to stand in the gap for their particular state. As it turned out each of the nine states were heavily represented but one. That one state which was North Carolina was not at all represented. So we all spent the weekend in worship, repentance and intercession on behalf of the nine states. As a result the eight states that were represented were all spared the calamities for which they had been targeted. North Carolina experienced a hurricane that year that nearly wiped out an entire city. The estimated damages were in the millions. So, the one state that was not present had no protection against the beast.

However, because there was no crop damage done to the other states I was accused of being a false prophet. When I brought the hurricane damage done in North Carolina to the attention of my accusers and shared that it was the only state that did not attend the weekend of intercession, they were silenced. I bring this up because many are the times that Yahveh will give a strong word of warning, with it He will give the wisdom to avoid the prophesied disaster. If headed, the prophecy will never come to pass. Jonah experienced the same quandary regarding the tender mercies of the Father. He prophesied the complete destruction of Nineveh. Yet he knew all along that if the people repented Yahveh would not send destruction. He didn't give an either/or kind of warning. He simply said that Nineveh would be overthrown in 40 days. When the people repented Jonah got angry because he knew the city would not be overthrown, and he would be made to look like a false prophet. Yet, that was exactly why he was sent. He was sent to spare the city of its final judgment. Jonah may have walked away looking like he had mud on his face, but the Father's precious will had been achieved. "
