Demon possession and/or oppression is Biblical.

There are 2 sides to every story. Your side seems to want to prove what constitutes a false prophet, & my side seems to want to prove what constitutes a jezebel spirit, all the while talking about the same scripture. I ask for consensus & I'm told this is how it is. That's not a consensus. We obviously can't have a consensus. There has to be some neutrality before that.

If our ONLY nt example of how this so called Jezebel spirit works in the church, shows said person claiming to be a prophet/prophetess, doesn't it logically follow that JS types will operate in the church by claiming to be prophets/prophetesses? I'd think this would be a mandatory qualifier of how such a JS would work in the context of the church, since a Holy Spirit inspired author gave us this as the ONLY revelation of how the JS does indeed work in the church.

Why do you want to toss out the ONLY SOLID indicator of how JS works in the church as given to us by a Holy Spirit inspired writer of scripture?

Rev 2
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Sorry the Bible reveals that JS types call themselves prophets/prophetesses when operating in the church. That's a mandatory qualifier of how they work in the church context.

You can keep posting the
religious traditions of men as a way to gain insight into how JS works in the church, but please don't toss out the ONE indicator the Bible actually gives us of how JS works in the church.

As I have said in the op, & recently, this phrase is used for a point of reference. I wish it had a better name.

To say this woman in Revelation didn't have a demon spirit leading/possessing her to bring destruction to the church would be ludicrous.
Im not seeing the point at all. What are the implications or applications of this thread?

But isn't that an assumption when the Bible doesn't say one way or the other? People can do all kinds of things but it doesn't mean that it's a demon behind it. Remember some do it for money, some do it for their own lusts, fame, power etc. And the text just does not say one way or the other.

Yeah and they fit the ONLY TEMPLATE given to us by GOD, of how the "JS" works in the church.

This probably puts perps on the perp list they don't want on the list.
Regardless, the Bible reveals what it reveals.

Also if you rely on what Rev 2 reveals on JS, it makes things so easy and clear, and kinda throws a wet blanket on the fun of a Jezebel witch hunt, where everyone becomes suspected of being a Jezebel.

Rev 2 is clear.
1.Will claim to be a prophet/prophetess.
2. Will teach/lead into sexual immorality.
3. Will lead to eat food sacrificed to idols.

Easy to spot stuff folks. You can return your Jezebel safari hunt clothes to Banana Republic for a refund.

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Let's go thru this again:

Here's the latest template:

JS claims a prophetic office & exercises the false prophet's position. This office of prophet is determined by what we previously read in the Bible dictionaries.
JS does teach false doctrine
JS leads the church astray into spiritual whoredom
JS has to have an "Ahab" to have authority and dominion, which means someone in a leadership role to use them.

If they meet 87% of the qualifications of this template, what would you suggest calling them?

The claim you make about the qualifier you use to disprove the JS you use the OPPOSITE way to say the 87% is still a false prophet.

If your qualifier were correct, they can be neither a JS or a false prophet, because you state plainly that they have to CONFESS their status to qualify. If that's true, they're neither. No consensus.

Continuing......

Whilst there is an inevitable risk that a few may go overboard on the subject and start seeing Jezebel spirits at the root of every pastoral problem, wiser heads will recognise that to be forewarned is to be forearmed, and will be on hand to spot dangerous trends and deceptions in time to prevent great damage from being caused. If this book alerts people to such ways, then it will have succeeded in doing precisely what RT Kendal claims, and will save your church or ministry from great harm.

I believe this book sounds a call that we need to pray for these ‘Jezebels’ who are doing such damage in the Body of Christ to be exposed, as well as for people trapped by them to be restored to humble service. Pray especially for the pastors and leaders who are either enmeshed themselves or who have to deal with such conflicts. To paraphrase Isaiah 11:3-4, may they not ‘judge by what they see with their eyes, or decide by what they hear with their ears; but judge with righteousness and make right decisions.’

This is the end of this article. It seemed to have a few fuzzy areas in it, but overall to me it was very informative.

Or maybe the point is that we don't need to label things as Jezebel spirit, when the Bible already gives us a name.
What's that name?
False prophet.

See certain movements have created the entity "Jezebel spirit".
Then they go on a scripture hunt to see what the Bible says about their created entity known as "Jezebel spirit"
Then they stumble upon Revelation 2
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.[SUP]21 [/SUP]And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
And then after stumbling upon the verses they notice the word JEZEBEL!!!!!

Then they think.Hey I'm looking for the entity I created called a Jezebel spirit, and here is the word Jezebel, why this must be about the thing I created.

But then you read further, and the word prophet is used.
Not Jezebel spirit, but prophet!

So I've been referring to it with you as JS, because that's the term you use.
But then you asked what I'd call it.
So I said false prophet.

If you're locking down these "qualifiers", that means every JS & false prophet HAS TO promote eating food offered to idols & teach all of their followers to commit fornication.

Where are they gonna get the food offered to these idols?

With all the false prophets on TV, That's a whole lot of fornicating going on ;)

I'z just quotin Bible Stephen.
You can add all the conjecture to it ya want.
It sayz wut it sayz.

And if you're truly looking for what the Bible reveals about "Jezebels" that's your template right there.

The problem I think you have, is that you want a thing called a Jezebel spirit to exist.
But the ONLY part of scripture that uses that name, and how it operates within the church is found in Rev 2.
But that part has a very inconvenient trait.
It puts anyone who claims to be a prophet/prophetess on the perp list of being a potential JS.

So it leaves you in a tough situation.
On one hand to prove that a thing such as a JS exists, you need a verse that actually has the word Jezebel in it.
Unfortunately, the ONLY NT verse that uses that word, and how it operates in the church, also shows that the "Jezebel" claims to be a prophet/prophetess.

So if one is bent on believing a JS exists in the church, then one is FORCED into relying on the ONLY NT verse that shows how Jezebel works in the church context.
But unfortunately for some, the ONLY verse they have to rely on for such, puts the wrong potential perps on their perp list.

So then in order to use said verse to uphold their concept of JS, they try to finagle the whole claiming to be a prophet part out, because that doesn't fit said tradition.

So what I'm getting at is this.
If you're going to say such a thing as a JS exists and operates in the church, then you have to go to scripture.
The ONLY NT verse that alludes to a Jezebel in the church context is Rev 2.
If you're going to use that to hold up the existences of JSs in the church context, then you have to take EVERYTHING those verses use to describe Jezebels, and use that as a strict, firm template for how they operate in the church context.

After all, that IS the ONLY revelation given of how these supposed JSs operate in the church context.

You can't...
Assert JS exists.
See the word jezebel in Rev 2:20.
Say, "See JS exists, the name is in Rev 2:20"
Then you can't go about pinning traits to how JS works in the church that aren't in Rev 2.
Certainly you can't take away traits of how JS works in the church context as found in Rev 2.

And there is nothing wrong with going to learned teachers/researchers on this JS topic, and gleaning there knowledge if they have any. But certainly our starting point should be Bible, and certainly we should use all of the traits verses give us, and not hatchet off traits that may not fit a preconceived template.

What does everybody think about good christians being lured out by men/women who claim to be christians & actually commit whoredoms with many christian partners just to destroy them? Would that be a demon spirit-led plan, due to the millions affected?

Fair enough. So, since we've totally exhausted scripture on that part, WE MUST CONCLUDE that the "Jezebel spirit" is a misnomer. What we still have is a spiritual problem in the church with controlling people. That I believe to be a fact, but there isn't any proper spiritual name for it. It seems to be a problem Like Stilly said, using Rev 2 to set an incorrect standard. I hope it hasn't been done on purpose.

While the scripture use is wrong, most writings have agreement with the description of this spiritual problem. In other words, they know & have examples of a real problem, but they don't have proper scripture to back it up. This is what plagues spiritual leaders the most when when dealing with spiritual warfare: labeling it.

While most of the church believes in demon possession and oppression, there's not much scripture to lock it down to a science, so to speak. Perhaps that's why there's not much accurate writing/videos on it in the first place.

True. But it's all evil. If God's not behind it, who is?
