My usual position is that the Bible is the absolute standard of truth; and anything that contradicts it is a lie or an error.

When the KJVO adherents make claims of unique inspiration for the KJV and refer to other versions as corrupt or even Satanic; and question the Salvation of those who read other versions; I feel led to point out that the KJV has the same problems that they ascribe to other versions. I consider the KJV to be the most beautiful and most literary version available; and I use and prefer it myself. However I will defend the many other versions which I understand to be equally God's Word.
If it is the absolute standard for truth, how can it have errors? Those who use "error” as describing the word of God are in error. God and error are not synonymous .

Bible is not God.

Error can be very easily made during manuscript copying or by a wrong translation, why not?
Never said the bible was God(strawman) I'm saying God is the author of it. Aka HIS Word. There are no errors with the Word of God . And I have yet to meet anyone here who has read a Manuscript. For it is simple : The KJV, NKJV, NASB, ASB ESV all are used by the Holy Spirit to reach the lost with the Gospel Message.

Only Theological Liberials make the so-called issue of error AS MAN SEES it. WOW Look what I found and error in what is known as the Bible. That is not the correct way to explain what is known as the Word of God.

There are no doctrinal errors but there are translational errors. The great truths of the bible are beyond question but there are little wiggles between the Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic getting into the English. Some of the words in the original manuscripts do not have a direct English translation.

So in the most important way you are correct and the critics worry about meaningless things.

A strawman is to equal a specific Bible and God or His infallible word.

Because Bible is a product of various processes where many men were involved. And these men made various errors. If we want to be honest and not just fanatic, we should acknowledge that.

Just one passage of scripture for you :

2pet 1:21 KJV For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Bible is not just prophecies.

Also, notice that Peter is talking about prophetic speaking.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 New International Version (NIV)

I love these facts about the KJV keep up the good work brother. Jesus stated that the truth shall set us free. When people change the Word of God they are corrupting the truth and presenting us with lies. The Bible says that when the devil speaks a lie he speaks of himself, he is the father of lies. It is sad and breaks my heart that there are so many corrupt so called versions that don't agree with themselves nor the true Word of God. I used to study out of other versions until I saw that the difference was so obvious by a personal side by side study of them and the KJV. Later I learned about the Greek texts and where they originate from. My prayer for all is that they will study to show themselves approved a workman who needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. satan is attacking the Word just like he did in the garden and many are being deceived. I owe my all to God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God wants us all to know the truth, He can not lie and will not lie to us. Let God be true and every man a liar. When mankind changes the Word of God in any way it becomes a lie, not of God.

It's always a problem with man. God did not breathe the scriptures in English. God moved holy men of God to write His word.

Moses recorded Gods word but the only part that God actually wrote was on the tables of stone on the mountain. That of course was the second set because the set Moses wrote he smashed.

Men wrote what God breathed in Hebrews, Greek and Aramaic not English, German, Latin or Spanish.

God has preserved His word through the translation process so 2 Tim 3:16-17 remains true and we can receive it in our language.

Which brother?
Neither CS1 nor trofimus are KJVO - far from it...

As for you I think that you need to do a lot more research - your current position is the one of deception.

2 Timothy 3:16 King James Version (KJV)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

According to the bible there is only one kind of scripture - inspired by God. If it's not inspired by God then it's not scripture.

NOTE: It did not say all scripture WAS given by inspiriation of God.

I agree in principle especially if you apply it equally to all the major versions. My problem is vocabulary. I lack a better word.

Also, The Bible is not in error but occasionally the translators depart from the Bible.

I encourage you to read The King James Only Controversy (2nd edn.) by James White. He addresses many of the issues in a rational and well-documented format.

As for "changes", how would you go about determining where a change was made, and what do you consider the "standard of measure"? Did you know that the KJV translators changed what was written in the Bishop's Bible and the Geneva Bible, two English versions that predate the KJV?

I agree with that to. this is why as defenders of the fatih as i'm sure you, the liberial theologians will use the word Error to discredit all of thew Bible. Liberial theologians have no integerity in Biblical study .

by proper Biblical interpretation . Known as the Circle of Context:

it starts with:

  • The word
  • The sentence
  • The verse
  • The Paragraph
  • The Chapter
  • The book
  • The entire Bible
This only works if :

  1. You are saved
  2. Prayerfully seeking the Lord
  3. Relying on the Holy Spirit
Then you will be able to apply tools to help seek ; meaning or what is known as “Authorial Intent”.

  1. What did the author say?
  2. Who did he say it to?
  3. How did they apply it then
  4. How do we apply today.
