So, dismissing all that blithering mumbo-jumbo mumbling that means nothing, Who or What is 666?
The idea is so basic and simple and found in Genesis 3. It is connected with immortality and living forever. Those who believe in Jesus Christ and the gospel gain immortality and live forever. The mark will be connected with a false gospel and a false promise of immortality. A lie that you will live forever when you take it and a repeat of Genesis 3 when the serpent says "ye shall not surely die." By the way, Nero was pushing up daisy's by the time Revelation was written CIRCA 96 AD. There are no new things under the sun as the word of God states and the serpent will use the same tactic he did in the garden to deceive mankind into becoming "like unto the gods." Some of you are already playing "God" thinking you can correct the Bible with a concordance or your own intellect.

666 must obviously be 37x18 :rolleyes: so the question must be who or what is 18? lol

Or 9+9 or 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2

But I have a feeling that the question was not about this.
A fellow walks into a soda shop and asks if he can get change for an $18 bill. He says sure, you want three 6's or two 9's? I don't know what currency you use, so you may not get this joke.

Yeah, the joke is understandable even without using dollar :)

Good. Our currency in bills run from 1,2(very rare now), 5, 10, 20, 50, & 100. So the joke was to get real money from a fake $18 bill. I thought it was hilarious.

did anyone of u guys know that the king james bible translates three different words the same word?

sheol is hell
hades is hell
gehenna is hell????????

i wonder if many of my kjvonly brethren know of this. why do they translate it like that.
To clear up any misunderstanding that Sheol meant the grave or Gehenna as a real place in the land of the living as all 3 refers to the underworld, but whereas Sheol & Hades is the temporary hell before the spirits are resurrected at the great white throne judgment to suffer eternal punishment in Gehenna in body & soul.

Faith Defenders - Sheol, Hades, and Gehenna

its said that the new versions are attacking hell by removing it from the bible. but its three different words they still translate gehenna as hell in the new versions.
big uce VCO gave me this system where u can go to any bible verse u like and click on it and it shows the greek words or hebrew even.
u can click on the words and it shows how the words are translated. im still trying to figure out how to use this properly im not much of a computer guy but its pretty cool
Even then, lean on the Lord Jesus Christ for wisdom in understanding His words in how they are applied in the verses in the KJV.

So the Word of God should be dumbed down to your intellect?
For someone unfamiliar with 17th-century English, the KJV demands a fair degree of facility with language, and not everyone is language-smart. Intelligence has a great variety of forms, so it is not surprising at all to me that someone who is clearly intelligent in one or several areas (having earned a degree) is not smart in this specific area.

The mark of the beast being the number of man is relying on mankind to provide and not God. That is why the mark of the beast during the great tribulation will be the only means to buy and sell and those with the mark would have been warned ahead of time the consequence for receiving that mark to be able to buy & sell in that New World Order is the lake of fire.

There is no reason not to take that warning as literal.

At one time someone tried to make the UPC bar code as hiding the number 666 among the numbered codes. It may look convincing but another site debunked it. If you want to waste your time on that, you can search for it in the internet.

There is a biochip in Europe that you can put under your skin in your hand to buy and sell; do banking transactions by; but it is not THE mark of the beast yet because it is not the only means to buy & sell.

So the technology is here and the "practical" use for it in a new world order will be obvious when that fiery judgment comes on the earth, burning up one third of the earth ( the western hemisphere... yeah.. that's right... you can kiss USA good bye after the pre trib rapture... ) which will serve as a catalyst for the New World Order, gathering resources to distribute it fairly among those that are members of it as well as be able to keep their jobs and their homes and so forth and so on.

So that is what the mark of the beast 666 is; relying on mankind to provide.

Revelation 13:[SUP]16 [/SUP]And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:[SUP] 17[/SUP]And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.[SUP]18 [/SUP]Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

I think she's saying she prefers reading it in current day English.

I'm not sure there's any dumbing-down necessary for that.

I can read and understand most of KJV-glish, but it 's much easer to understand it in the 20th century English that we all speak. I can read it without having to see a word, and go..."now let's see, what does forsooth/peradventure/shew/whatevereth mean?"

NASB is arguably a more accurate translation, and it's in modern English, to boot....
Arguably it's not.
In fact the NASB gets it wrong out of the gate
with its use of the word "heavens" in Genesis 1:1.
The verse is declaring the beginning of all space and matter,
so the KJV is the only translation that gets it right.

No doubt all the arguments have been hashed to death on here, but the KJV
is inherently more accurate, and honest, than any other English translation.

E.g., the uses of "ye", "thee", "thou", etc., which were no longer in regular
English usage in the early 17th century, were necessarily used in the translation
of the Holy Scriptures to English so as to distinguish singular and plural pronouns.

The KJV is the only translation in which words
added to the text for syntactic clarity are italicized,
which makes it inherently more honest than
your NASB, or any other English translation.

Any honest person knows and admits that the King Jimmy has translated words, transliterated words, mistranslated words, added words, copied words and God does not inspire such fallacies......one such example is Galatians 1:6-7 and the word another used twice.....two entirely different Greek words, two entirely different definitions and yet translated the same.....PFFFFFF JUST ANOTHER MAN MADE WORK.....!

heres a thought: maybe the devil is confusing the church by creating unnecessary division because of bible translations?

Some of you are already playing "God" thinking you can correct the Bible with a concordance or your own intellect.

as mentioned earlier, some people think that Greek & Hebrew manuscripts can be corrected with king James's English translation.

what would that be?

Lol a Bible that uses an umbrella term for multiple terms, is not one that is correcting, it is distorting.

i feel like an idiot

that's good; in fact we all should:

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

(Proverbs 3:7)

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.

(Proverbs 26:12)
