The law is judgment without mercy; whereas grace is mercy without judgment, and mercy rejoices against judgment.
Hi lastofall,

Let me tweak that just a tad.

God's law without Christ is Justice without Mercy where as God's Grace in Christ is Justice tempered with mercy.

To have mercy means there's been a
judgment for a broken law.

When we're clothed with God's Grace in Christ, we've been judged tempered with mercy and continue to be judged with mercy every time we sin because we're in Christ. The judgment now is like a loving father towards His child for the purpose of discipline.

john 20:17 "Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to MY BRETHREN and say to them, 'I ascend to MY FATHER and YOUR FATHER, and MY GOD and YOUR GOD.'"

If Jesus is not God, we are all dead in our sins. If Jesus is merely a human being He has a sin nature and can't atone for our sins.

If Jesus is not God, we are all dead in our sins. If Jesus is merely a human being He has a sin nature and can't atone for our sins.
this is How He atoned for our sins

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

i understand How many see it, but where are the scriptures that contradict that God has an Only Son, Jesus, who He sent to save the World? No one ive ever seen say " Jesus was a mere man" certainly not i, but the important thing according to the Bible is that we accept that God Has an Only begotten Son, whom He sent into the world as Our savior. thats Christianities undeniable truth. the scripture below should kind of be really clear on What Gods testimony is concerning Jesus, and where eternal Life is found. did you know there isnt a scripture saying " if anyone doesnt say Jesus is God" but several saying " we need to accept Gods Only Son."

He is One with God, we are One with Him. doesnt make us Jesus. but " we are the body of Christ or One with Jesus. but im not Jesus.

1 john 5:9-12 "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified OF HIS SON. 10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that GOD GAVE OF HIS SON. 11And THIS IS THE RECORD, that God hath given to us eternal life, and THIS LIFE IS IN HIS SON. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the SON OF GOD hath not life."

Jesus is the Son of God, or it may read " God so loved the world that He came and died for the sins of the world" or something, its very clear that God Has a son, named Jesus, that is what christianity is all about. is He One with God? yep. is He divine and was He before the creation of the world? yep. Is He an exact representation of what God is Like? Yep. was the Father Living in Him ? yep.

can God be tempted?(james 1:13) Nope, was Jesus? ( matthew 4:1) yep. did John see Jesus? yep He touched and walked with Him daily for a time, even saw Him transfigured (matthew 17:1-2), does He later say 1 john 4:12 "No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us"

Have i ever said "Jesus is not God? nope, do I hold to the truth of scripture that Jesus is the One and only begotten Son of God sent to be the savior of the world by God? 100 percent.

indeed and this is How our savior saved Us

John 3:16 " For GOD so Loved the world that HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believs in HIM shall not perish but have everlastiong Life" or in other words

12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the SON OF GOD hath not life."

the Only path to eternal Life is to accept Gods Only begotten Son, God has already made it clear with His witness about His Son lol its not a complex thing to understand, a humans child is human, Jesus Was born when Gods spirit, fathered Him in the womb of Mary making Him the Son of God, and son of man. the question uisnt " is Jesus God? but rather " Is Jesus the christ and son of the Living God ?

He saved the world by putting Our sins on His Son, God cant bear sins, He is Holy sin cant touch or be placed on God, but if God Has a Son born of a woman, sins can Be placed upon His flesh and blood. God is spirit, spirit is in the word therefore the Word of God is spirit. and declared Long before conderning Jesus

psalm 2:7 "I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

and

matthew 3:16-17 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

and again at His transfiguration God says

matthew 17:5 "While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."

God continually witnesses to the fact that Jesus is His Son. does the Son bear His Fathers name? indeed as does a human son bear His fathers name.

im open to the scriptures testifying to that

In Romans it says that all have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Jesus as a man falls into that category.

There is none righteous, no not one. Apart from God, no one in and of themselves are righteous. Jesus born of human flesh would be sinful.

When Thomas saw our risen Lord he said, "my Lord and my God."
Isaiah prophesies of Jesus and calls Jesus God.

Have i ever said "Jesus is not God? nope, do I hold to the truth of scripture that Jesus is the One and only begotten Son of God sent to be the savior of the world by God? 100 percent.

Okay great! You believe in the trinity and believe that Jesus is God. Again, Great! I guess I misunderstood.

I have to respectfully disagree :)

Jesus had to be made a man suseptable to temptation in order to overcome it for us, thats the reasoning behind it all. adam fell into temptation and all born of adam became sinners, Jesus was made in the image of fallen man, yet Lived a sinless life, being tempted just as we are with a weakness in His flesh, yet He didnt yeild to sin, He resisted the devil in His flesh, and then carried mans nature to the cross bearing our sins. He was born in our image, and being the Son of God, walked as God commanded even to His own death on the cross. He never sinned, but He knows how we feel when being tempted which makes Him an effective High priest thats able to help us in temptation

hebrews 4:14-16 "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us HOLD FAST our profession. 15For we HAVE NOT an high priest which CANNOT BE TOUCHED WITH THE FEELING OF OUR INFIRMITIE; but WAS AT ALL POINTS TEMPTED AS WE ARE, YET WITHOUT SIN. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

jesus Knows what carrying the fallen nature feels like, so Hes able to help us when tempted, its another very important understanding that He knows what temptation feels like, and God cant be tempted because temptation is something that comes to the flesh of man.

james 1:13-14 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED WITH EVIL, neither tempteth he any man: 14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."

Jesus is our Savior.

Yep, God sent His Son to save us :) and for His obedience He was exalted to Gods Right Hand. God the Father is savior because He sent Jesus, Jesus is our savior because He willingly obeyed even the horrors of the cross.

acts 2:22-33 "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
25
For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:27Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.28Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

29
Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
