Yes Christ was faithful unto the cross,. so why do so many of God's, well intended children, try to take Jesus "faithfulness" in John 2:8, and claim that it is their faith, when Gal 2:16 reinforces the fact that it is Jesus faith that justifies his children?

It is my understanding that you are not rightly dividing the truth, when you cannot see that the scriptures plainly reveals that there is a "world" that God loves, and there is also a "world that God hates"

The world that God hates;
Matt 13:38 - The field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom, (the world, that he loves, of his children), but the tares are the children of the wicked one ( the word of children that he hates).

John 14:17 - Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive.

John 15:18-19 - If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated me. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own, but ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 16:19-20 - Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and he said unto them, Do you inquire among yourselves of that I said, a little while, and ye shall not see me, and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? Verily, Verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice, and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

John 17:9 - I pray for them, I pray not for the world, but to them thou which hast given me.

John 17:14 - I have given them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Rom 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world

1 Cor 2:6 - Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect, yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world that come to nought.

1 Cor 2:12 - Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 Cor 3:19 - For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.

1 Cor 5:9-10 - I wrote unto you in an epistle, not to company with fornicators, Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters, for then ye needs go out of the world.

Gal 1:4 - Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world.

Eph 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

James 4:4 - Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is an enemy of God.

1 John 2:15 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him

1 John 3:13 - Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

1 John 4:5-6 - They are of the world, therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God he that knoweth God heareth us, he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

1 John 5:19 - And we know we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

I only read the first 3 lines of your post, because it does not make sense going on to read the rest when the first 3 lines are erroneous because of your carelessness in reading the bible or maybe it is because you might be corrupt and blind and thus cannot see to discern the words of God aright.

I will not give you the proper verses because in doing so it might condemn you to death, as you will not have sought with your heart and mind and soul to find God but instead plagiarized other's work (my work) to sneak into the kingdom of God.

Therefore I will give you a clue as to what is going on here. I hope you take it seriously because your salvation depends on it. In fact Peter warned us in 2nd Peter 3 that Paul's words will damn many to destruction as they are hard to understand.

OK, the people who were saved by Jesus's faith are the Jews of the 1st covenant who were not made perfect by the law.
We in these last days are saved by God's grace towards us and our faith in Jesus Christ.

I hope you really search the bible to find the answer; a child of God will not stop searching the bible, similar to how Jacob fought with the angel all night which resulted in his broken hip, in order to receive God's blessing.

The bible states that we do not throw our treasures (God's treasures) to dogs and swines less they trample them and also come and trample us also. Personally I do not know who you are and I have said enough. If you love God, you will search the scriptures.

I have to apologize to you for my harsh rhetoric concerning the hard things of God. Jesus did give Thomas a chance to believe in him, even though Thomas did not believe at first.

Also Jesus did tell his disciples who failed to drive out evil spirits out of a man that these things come only by fasting and prayer.

But most important for us, Jesus in Revelations 3:10, told the Philippians that he would keep the temptations that would come upon the entire world from coming up on them because they have kept "the word of his patience"

These events could not come to pass with plagiarized understanding (stolen words); we have to have a first-hand experience with our risen Lord. Similarly stealing the works of a great scientist does not make me a great scientist, and especially if that great scientist has flaws it will condemn me. Even if that great scientist does not have flaws in his works, I will still be condemned because I will not understand his works, namely the countless hours that he put into it to bring it to fruition.

There are no shortcuts into the kingdom of God and Jesus says this:
Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

...FAITH, is what God requires of you, to give you His "Gift of Grace" that is "the Gift of Salvation" ...which is given to redeem you from your sin, and give you eternal life.

So, the OFFER of Christ on the Cross is to EVERYONE, but, this Sacrifice that Christ has accomplished... .this full payment for all sin... is not given to you, is not applied to you.......unless you come to Jesus and BELIEVE by FAITH and "faith is counted as righteousness", and you are "Justified BY faith"...
Amen! Romans 3:24 - being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Romans 4:5 - But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works.

Romans 5:1 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, (apart from additions or modifications) we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

With all due respect, I understand where you are coming from. I do believe that before anyone can understand the scriptures the indwelling of the Holy Spirit has to reveal it to them, and that being after they have denied their own entelect. That did not happen to me until I was 62 years old. I am now 87.

I also believe that the indicator that we are on the right path to believing the truths in Jesus doctrine is that all of the scriptures must harmonize with each other without eliminating any of them. There are quite a few scriptures that I cannot explain, but I believe that I have been revealed enough of the basics of the doctrine to feel the comfort and security of it.

You stated that after you read the first three sentences of my post, you did not read the rest. Would you reconsider, and tell me how you would interpret the other scripture references that I posted? I realise that I posted quite a few, but that was to establish my point.

I have some views on the two gates in Matt 7:13-14, if you care to hear them.

I have some views on the two gates in Matt 7:13-14, if you care to hear them.

I did scan them afterwards but I will revisit them and give you my stance on them.

It is possible that we could be in the same boat as I too was apparently kept out of the church for 64 years, even though I was groomed in one as a child. Only 4 years ago God opened my eyes as I sought after him, and since then everything was given to me gradually with amazement.

In fact the end was given before everything else (that is the beginning and the middle). In that way we do not bounce around in errors but instead keep our eyes focused on the prize.

To be sure God is infinite and we stand before God in total awe knowing absolutely nothing as the only thing we can do is bow our heads to the ground in total adoration and fear of Him.

As Paul says God is everything. Knowledge is everything and yet it is nothing, when standing before God. Our hope (with patience) is what is necessary as knowledge puffeth up and can bring us down. When we know God everything else in this world is all idolatry as John says in 1st John 5.

1Jn 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

1Jn 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

The Lord is our shepherd.

Sheep also represent God's sustenance for us. hopes that we can be obedient and obedient like sheep. Disobedient sheep will become prey of wild beast and lose their lives if they are far away from the shepherd's discipline. We should be as a sheep obedient to God's Word. Obedience has always been so important in carrying out all the contents of the Bible. From the beginning of Genesis, when Eve was blinded by the ancient serpent's words, a seed of disobedience began to sprout in Eve's heart and mind, which was the result of disobedience to God's words. The origin of sin was human disobedience.

Abraham's offering of his son is obedience to the word of God, which is really regarded as as righteousness. To use a less appropriate metaphor, God asked Abraham to offer his son. It can be said that this might be hell for Abraham. But Abraham obedient to God's words. God did prepare a sheep for Abraham, and a piece of heaven, not hell, because Abraham did not question God's words, but just Obedience like a sheep.

#1 - Matt 13:38 - The field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom, (the world, that he loves, of his children), but the tares are the children of the wicked one ( the word of children that he hates).

Technically there is only one world, and we (sons of God) are all sojourners here. Abraham and David were also sojourners in a land with no resting place.

#2 - John 14:17 - Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive.

Technically again the prince of the air, Satan, is the ruler of this world. (Eph_2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:)

I use the word technically only because because God is sovereign over all and my explanation does not take into account God's sovereignty over all things. Therefore my explanation only applies to the limited context in which we are discussing and nothing else. (This sounds a bit confusing but someone who knows God will understand what I am talking about.)

#3 - John 15:18-19 - If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated me. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own, but ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

They hated Jesus without a cause because he lived in the spirit and the words that he spoke were spirit. The world lives in the flesh and their words are all of the flesh.
Rom_8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Jas_4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

#4 - John 16:19-20 - Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and he said unto them, Do you inquire among yourselves of that I said, a little while, and ye shall not see me, and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? Verily, Verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice, and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

This statement was specific to the disciples and also the apostles of Jesus, just before he went to the cross. It has a couple of meanings and probably much more (for God is infinite in his ways).
The first meaning could have a context of when Jesus asked his father in John 17, that his disciples be with him where he was going.
(John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.)

#5 - John 17:9 - I pray for them, I pray not for the world, but to them thou which hast given me.

This verse is one of many that should not really be debated; but basically Jesus was not here to save the world but only to pull those elect of God out of the world unto himself. They are those whose names were written in the book of life before the foundation of the world.

The above verse is a very complex one that we cannot really answer exhaustively as God's ways are past finding out.
Isa_55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa_55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Rom_11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

The Jews were condemned and blinded only because they claimed that they knew God, when they did not know him. It is better to hold ones tongue and let God be God. Hosea 4:6 is only one of many verses that shows us the plight of the Jews before God. Today many are blinded to this verse as they talk about God loves those who love Israel.
Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Today there are no people of God called Jews or Israel standing in this world. God has forsaken them and their seed in this world.
In this world they are now considered gentiles who have to come to God through the blood of Christ.

Technically Jews only belonged to the 1st covenant which is an old Testament covenant, which has passed away.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Now a monkey wrench has to be thrown into the whole mix here because God has not sought to explain to us about those Jews of the first century in great detail. It is not good to make guesses, that is, arriving at conclusions that the bible does not explicitly state for us.

We know that when Jesus was resurrected, his saints came out of the graves and went into the holy city. I know what I believe based upon old testament text, but I am not at liberty to say as the bible did not explicitly state it.

The bible is a very complex book that God reveals to his people as they progress through the ascending stages of faith. (as their faith grows). This leads to their sanctification which also is their salvation.

I believe this is a good place to stop for now.

I agree with you, if only that the bible tells us so, that obedience is better than sacrifice. But there is so much more.
We cannot be obedient if we do not understand, regardless of how much we want to be obedient. The phrase "the truth shall set you free" is tantamount to becoming one with the truth, that is understanding it, where 1 + 1 = 2. We can hold up one finger on each hand and count them and we arrive at 2.

The things of the spirit does not make any sense to the natural man. We can only understand spiritual things, if we ourselves become spirit, that is, become immersed in the spirit world as to be counted one with the spirit.

A cat cannot understand the world of a dog. Only a dog can understand the world of a dog. For a cat to be converted into a dog requires the supernatural power of God and that has to literally happen to us when we truly are born again into the spirit world.

We really cannot stay on the outside and understand it, because comes crunch time, theory has to give way to practical reality.

The bible is simpler than ABC to the one who loves God.
It is harder than Einsteins theory of relativity to the one who does not know God.

The truth has been before our eyes from day one, and is still here hopefully, as it will grow dimmer and dimmer as the end comes.

But Einstein could not see the truth because the world was in his heart.
But a small child will see the truth as he is not fixated or obsessed with the world.

If we do not know God, we can never know his will for our lives.

Truly seek and ye shall find.

The problem is that most will not truly seek because they have the world in their hearts.

Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

FAITH, is what God requires of you, to give you His "Gift of Grace" that is "the Gift of Salvation" ...which is given to redeem you from your sin, and give you eternal life.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. >>>'...word of God' is the Bible. Must read!!!

I appreciate your comments, and pray that our studies will reveal more truths, as we seek to please God.
To be honest there is really only one truth that needs to be known, and those who do not know it by now will never know it.

Jesus told the women who were weeping for him while he was going to the cross, to weep for themselves because time was up.

No it is not.

If it is. Then Paul is a liar. And we are saved BY WORKS. And we can all boast of how we saved ourself by faith
I see a play on words here by Jesus in John 6:29 when he said, "This is the work (singular) of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent," when He answered the Jews (who were taking a legalistic approach) when they asked, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works (plural) of God?" So Jesus was not saying that believing is just "another" work in a series of works in a quest to receive salvation by works or else it would contradict Ephesians 2:8,9. *Note the distinction between faith and works - "saved through faith, not works."

Believing is clearly not a work that merits salvation. Through believing, we are completely trusting in "Another's work," (Christ's finished work of redemption). Through believing, Christ is the OBJECT of our complete trust in receiving salvation. Good works which "follow" believing unto salvation are the fruit of salvation, but not the root of it.

I am amazed at the number of people that fall into the trap of religion and religious works as a means to an end..

All who have faith have been given gold. If we bury the gold, and do nothing to make increase of it for our Father, we are worthless servants, for tha faith which is gold will be tainted and unworthy..

Sho me your faith without works, and those with works will demonstrate vividly their faith, and have treasure awaiting them in heaven.

Believing on Jesus Christ means believing in his requirements that he has given to us. Many people came to Jesus asking to follow him, some of them having kept the commandments, tithing, etc etc etc. Jesus turned them away because they refused to do what he told them to do. It is even said that one went away sad, because he probably was very much interested in the salvation that Jesus offered but could not do a very difficult thing that Jesus required of him.

Believing in Jesus means that you believe in all the words that he says concerning salvation. Jesus himself did much work as he said he came to earth to finish his father's work.
God worked. Jesus worked (He was obedient unto death). Paul worked. And it seems strange that we as his children are not required to work. In fact we are promised rest from our work after we have finished his will.

Knowing his will is the most important thing in all of Christianity. If you know his will, it means that you have found the truth and the truth will set you free.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Heb_4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Heb_4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Believing is not so much as what as it is Who. Believing unto salvation means we cease from trusting in anyone or anything except in Jesus. This is the rest of Matthew 11:28-30. It correlates with life found in John 10:10.
Believing what Jesus and the Bible say are our means of sanctification. The truth in an ongoing way sets us free.

Your statements are true.
But those who would want to simplify and make a mockery of God's way of salvation, especially those who are seeking shortcuts into the kingdom of God,
should understand that words translate into action. I cannot say I love you in one breath and then go and prostitute myself with whores.

I cannot say I want to become a soccer player and do not practice.
There are some that say that God waves a magic wand upon their request to enter his kingdom and like magic they are changed from a wicked creature into a new born creature.

I will not say anything else, because really these people have been led into a dark place by God because of their evil heart. Yes, God will send them to live with Satan if they act like Satan.

Your fruits or works do not lie. (The bible states by their fruits you will know them)

Don't be lazy and allow these fast talkers to lead you into hell, else you yourself will deserve hell because of your laziness to read the bible, (a book that even a child can understand)

2Pe_2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Rom_11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
