Paul says that because of un-belief Israel was broken-off.

Romans 11:22...Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

This is after 10:9 that says that a person will be saved if they confess the Lord Jesus and believe that God raised him from the dead.
