Brothers, Sisters and Friends,
Let us notice the scriptures as found in Luke 15:1-2 which states.....
“Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmered, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
You know if you study the gospels it seems that the average people were constantly mouthed, belittled and called sinners by the righteous law keeping Pharisee(s). It also seems that this takes place today as well within many ranks of so-called Christianity as dress codes, laws and regulations have been laid down concerning the things listed above.
The sinner needs Jesus and Jesus received sinners, ate with sinners, drank with sinners, taught sinners and loved sinners.......Let us never get so high-minded and be so Spiritually Hypocritical of those around us who need Jesus....
I was/am a sinner and I thank Jesus that he is the great physician and has welcomed me into his (proverbial) clinic for a complete covering in his blood and righteousness!

And I don't recall Jesus castigatiing any of the 'common folk' but rather the religious leaders, pharisees, saducees and scribes.

The scribes and Pharisees did not consider themselves "sinners". WHY? Because they thought they had their sins forgiven by the sacriices don in the temple.

The Pharisees were NOT rightious according to the Lord Jesus. See Matt ch 23, he calls them hypocrites, blind men, blind guides, serpents, blind fools, etc.

"Go and learn what this means, I desire MERCY and NOT SACIFICE." Matt 9:13, Matt 12:7

Just considering who handed Jesus over to the Romans.
Exactly why they have suffered the last 2000 years which will culminate in the 1335 days listed in Daniel 12.....they rejected grace and will pay the price by going through the great tribulation....

I agree and will add.....they were white washed coffins filled with dead men's bones and made disciples that were two fold the children of hell...as in...

1. They had to get over their lost state to be redeemed
2. They had to get over their false religion to be redeemed

Yeah,

I think many who think they are doing Gods will today by all these rules and regulations and religious ceremony would Hate Christ also. Because he would do the same for them.

I meant too add (but you were too quick)

Galatians 4:28-29 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Even King David understood this truth

"Sacrifice and burnt offering you did not desire"

Seems like a lot of finger pointing in all directions....

I saw a sermon by Billy Graham several years ago where he talked about the cross.

He said something along the lines of, "while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." So we are all responsible for the cross, and should honor what HE did for us.

Matthew 23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
Matthew 23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Matthew 23:31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

That has always stuck with me...because it's true.

I also want to point out that Paul, Peter, and other NT writers spoke against sin.

Jesus, when HE healed the woman caught in adultery said, "Go and sin no more."

Also, when He healed the man who waited to get into the water in Bethesda was healed, afterward Jesus told him this:

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

There's a big difference between discussing what sin is according to the scriptures, and being a finger pointer...

"Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.' If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness," (Isaiah 58:9)

I keep hearing people say, "These law types..yada yada yada..."

Maybe it's a good idea that we all examine our own selves.

Yupp, you must finally be reading Paul...

Galatians 5:11-12 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Yes and Paul has even stronger words about the law+gospel types in Gal 1:8-9.

Well, I am glad that you acknowledge that I read Paul's letters. :D

He always pointed to Christ, and spoke much about the OT.

When someone believes "every word of God," that doesn't mean that they ignore Paul. In fact, most who believe every word take Paul's letters very seriously. So seriously in fact, that they dig in and find out exactly what Paul was talking about.

heart.jpg to you.....

one would think the warnings would register. apparently they do not. cursed.
Wow, you just come in swinging....

All I can say to your last few comments is ....WOW.....

Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Matthew 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Always saddens me when I see some go around trying to pronounce "curses" on others....
