GENESIS 3:14. Does anyone ever given it a thought what it means for the serpent to be feeding on dust? People often believe it is a punishment on the serpent for deceiving Eve but there is quite more to it than many could understand. God is only trying to set things right.
Adam was created in God's perfect image but not fully in His perfect likeness simply because he was created to know no evil. The creator knew the knowledge of evil is the opposite of what He wished for them.
In the knowledge of evil comes hate, sickness, anger, hate, deception, pains, sorry, death etc. This is the basic reason the creator thought it is not right for Adam to have this knowledge but He created an opportunity for them to be perfectly like Him if they so desire.
He planted the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the garden of Eden where He kept them and sternly commanded them not to eat of it's fruit lest they die.
They disobeyed God's commandment and did eat of the fruit of the knowledge of evil. It is the fruit of the knowledge of evil because they already have the knowledge of good, the fruit could only give them the knowledge of evil.

immediate they ate that fruit, God confirmed that the man is now perfectly like one of them because they have known what is good and also what is evil.
It is unfortunate that Adam did not know what is good and evil alone, he also learned the secret of how he was formed out of the dust of the ground.

Why do you think God told Adam the secret He had kept away from him for a long time. Adam ate the forbidden fruit and this act helps in edifying his human flesh above God's Spirit in him.
Someone might want to ask what I meant by edifying his flesh above God's Spirit. Adam was created to know and do good through the Spirit of God in him. The fruit of good is the life of God's Spirit while the fruit of evil is the life of Satan the devil.

The human flesh was created out of the dust of the ground and so she feeds from the produce of the ground. The forbidden fruit of the knowledge of evil is a product of the ground, the fruit of evil was eaten to profit the human flesh so also the evil in it was conceived in the flesh.
The human flesh was was corrupted with evil and activated to a life of evil the very day they ate the forbidden fruit.
The human flesh had conceived evil and must die because death resides in evil and not because God wants the human flesh to die. When the flesh dies, she dies together with the evil she had conceived and both will be transformed into dust for Satan the evil one who is masquerading himself in a serpent to come and make a meal of it all.
The aim of the creator for commanding the serpent to feed on dust is to return evil back to it's domain. Satan resides in the evil fruit Adam ate and the evil is conceived in his flesh. The flesh will die together with the content in it and be transformed into dust which the serpent (Satan) is commanded to feed upon.
