I read the book, & within the book it was clearly stated why God made himself in the image of a black woman. It was to address the mans issues with God and shaking up the preconceived image of God that the man had. This what I read into the book and it was not really about the actual sex of God. Honestly, I enjoyed the book. It is a work of fiction and a rather enjoyable one at that. If you took it too seriously or as non-fiction, I could see how it could lead to much debate.

The book is well written Ill give it that. But other than that its not biblical. The trinity is proclaimed in a poor and un-biblical way, giving God a image is also not biblical considering He is spirit and does not have a image other than we know that he has hands, feet, and a back (looking at where Moses talked to him), then making God into a woman which is not biblical considering God has masculane features. Thats my opinion.=)

I've read it. As a book of fiction...it's WONDERFULLY written! But for a book that's supposed to have some say in the Christian world...I didn't like it at all. I was kinda confused about the portrayal of God ...but I do think it makes the point that God can be anything you need, whenever you need it. But it also says that 1) we dont need to follow the 10 commandments and 2) The Bible isn't a book of instruction but only a book about Jesus' life. It's definitely not a book I would hand to a new believer and say....go at it!
