amen i agree!!! we need the spirit of discernment!!!!!!!to discern the spirits of those on television ect.!!!!not everyone has devine revelation from the holy spirit of truth!!!!!the apostle paul did forewarn though that, many false prophets have gone out into the world!!and thereby giving heed to seducings spirits!!!!!this is the spirit of error!!!!!at work!!!!yes!! we must be sober minded in christ at all times!!! and be very spiritually alert!!!!!!!!
I wonder how many of them were drawn to TBN and DayStar? Ha Ha. But, on the serious side. They DO have some pretty far out men and women on there. Everyone can be richly blessed if they will only purchase this shawl, ram's horn or prayer cloth. They all want to bless us with their divine revelation...for $55.00. That's fine. But, what if they did really receive a news letter from God...Would God not simply tell them to tell us for free. They are already on TV. To me this stunt is no different than selling animals and money exchanging in the temple. Jesus whooped them for the same thing.

(I'm speaking in general terms about the prophecy people and groups and all that.)

Does anyone find all of this entirely burdensome, tiring, exhausting, and simply time wasting after a while?

Seriously, we have an endless supply of people who say God said this or God said that, or I am this or I am that.
Then we have to take the time and wait, and wait and wait, only to know what we knew all along.
They were completely fulla lies!

Then once one person or group gets proven wrong, another person or group comes along with their claims.
And we have to repeat the same tiring, exhausting, burdensome, time wasting process all over again.

Sorry, but I'm speaking out of complete and total honesty!
I'M DOWNRIGHT OF SICK IT!

Aren't people sick of the process?
When are people going to wake up and realize God has already spoken in his word?
That's enough to figure out on its' own.
Now we have to pile on this endless supply of extra biblical claims to sort through?
AND IT NEVER ENDS!
NEVER!

I'm utterly shocked more people haven't become absolutely fatigued by the process and learned their lesson by now.
Maybe I am toooooo relaxed? I figure it like this. God's planning is a great deal better than ours. He will do what he will do just when he said he will and not before.

You guys need to chill with the exclamation points. It makes you seem nuts and it will discourage the casual Christian or unbeliever who visits this site.

As for the entire topic of this post, it is pointless to even discuss this. So what if the witnesses are Moses and Elijah? What do you plan to do with this knowledge? Did Jesus not say that no one but God knows the day of His return?

You don't need to know these things, or you would know. There are always people crying out the world will end tomorrow, ever since Jesus came.

If you knew He was coming tomorrow, would you change your behavior today? You should act every day as if He were going to return in a minute, an hour, or a day. That is what He wants.

2 Kings 6:30 And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.

sackcloth It can be spiritual.

Stick around and you will see a lot of useless threads. Most are frustrating and pointless...but they go on. Most agree to disagree. Nobody has committed a fatwah over anything yet.

Does he have his sackcloth and ashes packed in a bug out bag along with money and passport for his flight to Jerusalem?
I don't want to speak for him too much, but he is living a very ordinary life in Australia, and suspects God will arrange things when the time comes. He has no plans made. I don't know if he even has a passport.

I mean no disrespect to the man you speak of, but years ago my father claimed he was a witness and that he could see(he had been blinded as a child). He literally had a news crew down from Nashville and interviewed him.
Interesting thing is after the doctors put him on lithium these ideas went away. So did his anger, rage, and attempts to sacrifices his virgin daughters.
Im dead serious!
I believe you. But wouldn't you hate to have publically proclaimed that "Mr. SOandSo" thinks he is a witness, and he must be crazy, and then he turns out to be one? Obviously, there are only two, and it's God's choice, not ours, who they will be.

well when they start performing supernatural acts as it is written of them , that they will do. Then we can say they maybe are the two witnesses.

Revelation 11:

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

The only two ever to perform these kinds of acts where Elijah & Moses. No one ells. The same two, that appeared with Christ Himself on the mount of transfiguration .

Luke 9:

29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias-( Greek for Elijah) :

31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

Of Moses :

Exodus 7:20

King James Version (KJV)

20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as the Lord commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

Again of Moses :

Exodus 10:13

King James Version (KJV)

13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

Of Elijah :

1 Kings 17:1

King James Version (KJV)

17 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Again of Elijah:

1 Kings 18:36-39

King James Version (KJV)

36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

etc.

Until you see two do these two things, then they are not the two witnesses . Keep reading on in Chapter 11 of the book of Revelation.

the two witnesses are called the two lampstands...in the first chapter of revelation jesus explains that lampstands represent churches...

also interestingly in the original greek where it mentions the bodies of the two witnesses lying in the streets...it literally just says 'their body'...singular... to me that only makes sense in the context of the church being one body...

and i don't know if this is related...but in chapters two and three of revelation there are exactly -two- churches that jesus does not have anything against...

Forgive me, but those sack cloth costumes look mighty comfortable compared to the biblical variety (all itchy and scratchy and dirty and rough).

well that's the reason i had, but I'll have to study it more, that singular word you mentioned. Also will have to consult my pastor, to learn more about that chapter. So whatever I learn, its going to have to fit with the rest of the book.

Still the wait wait wait..... Remember the story of the city of Tyrus in Ezekiel 26... It was prophecied that this glorious city with the mighty walls and the gold and riches will be destroyed. And the walls of the city will made like the top of a rock, and this will be used in the sea as a place to dry nets....

Well seeing that this city were a few miles from the sea and quite high in elevation, the people must have thought Ezekiel is completely mad... But then the city was destroyed and flattened. And still the people would say... HAHA Ezekiel, the city is destroyed but the sea is still miles away!

Then as history reflects a certain treasure hunter heard that there is still much gold under the ruiens, and he obtained permission to dig for it. UNDER one condition... He had to remove the rubble and throw it in the sea... He did, and he would use ships to sail a little into the sea and dump the load. Later they dumped so much that the wall and tower rubble would be dead dry on low tide. And even today they still dry their nets on the city walls....

This happened over 300 years from each-other. I think it was 322 years before the rubble was taken to the sea. Ezekiel had it right, but we had to wait 322 years to see the whole prohecy being fulfilled. Wait is part of God's plan.
Noah did not build the arc in a day or two... took some time... Wait is also a teaching of PATIENCE, one of God's charactoristics. And something we learn in FAITH. So I would wait and see, if some-one makes statements.

It has to be in line with Scripture, or I immidiately dismiss the "prophecy" and the person.

It does not necessarily follow that Rev. 11 is drawing on Rev. 2 for the meaning of lampstands. In Rev. 1, Jesus holds the stars, in Rev. 2, He gives certain people the star, and in Rev. 22, He IS the star. This proves Revlelation does not necessarily assign only one meaning to each symbol.

In my Textus Receptus, it reads "ta ptomata auton", "(the) their corpses", all three of these are plural.
