This story is recorded in Luke 21:1-4 and Mark 12:41-43.
Jesus says that she gave more because of how little she had as in comparison to everyone else who gave from that abundance. Here are a couple things to consider in this story.
1. What they were putting there money in was made out of a type of medal. The greater the value of the money the heavier it was, so the noise was greater.
2. What the widow has was not of any real value so most likely it did not make a sound that could be heard or barely heard.
3. Being poor as described in the bible she gave all her life savings to the treasury of the temple. The word penury is used with means extreme poverty.
4. Jesus acknowledges how much she gave above the others saying she gave more.
5. This let's me know its hot what you give that gets God's attention but what the condition of your heart is when giving.
