Does this mean to watch for current events to align with God’s Word?

It means to warn others about the soon coming Judgement of God if you are a watchman(christian).

That's right, and to warn God's people. See Ezekiel 33. It's the idea of a lookout applied to watching for events coming to pass that God forewarned us about in His Word.

For the end, see how our Lord Jesus used it at the end of Matt.24.

Ezekiel 3:17-19
- Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

Isaiah 62:6 - I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

Ezekiel 33:6 - But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take [any] person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Amos 3:7 - Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Luke 21:36 - Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

2 Corinthians 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Ephesians 6:12- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.

I always pictured a dude in armor with a mongo staff/sword ready for action on the highest part of the castle wall looking out to protect the others in that castle. (And I also tend to have a mental picture of Jimi Hendrix singing "All Along the Watchtower." lol)

But I watch for the signs of God in daily life. Not for the future, 'cuz I don't know the future and I'm busy trying to get through today. Little signs he's working on my behalf -- traffic being easy when I have to get to the hospital in a hurry, a tiny flower that shouldn't be there in November, when I needed to know he knew what I was going through right then, destroying my every goal but replacing it with his goals, etc.

I watch for God.

I think wisdom teaches that we should be watchmen over out own lives in order to keep ourselves holy and blameless.

Allow me to correct the twisted KJV on Hebrews 13:17. The Greek, if you please. Be persuaded by those that guide you. Yield to their teaching.
This particular twisted scripture has done the most damage to the body of Christ than anything.

Really? The most damage of any other possibly wrong teaching/interpretation? That is saying an awful lot. On the other hand, being persuaded to the point of yielding amounts to submitting and obeying. So I do not see the huge harmful twist you are purporting the KJV has foisted upon the unsuspecting.

It would suggest to me that we should be aware of what's going on and let our Christian brothers and sisters know if there is trouble.

1. The Bible talks about "The Children of Seth" or "The Children of God" who went down from the mountain, FALLEN ANGELS.
2. The book of Jubilees talks about "The Angels of the Lord and the Angels of God", the ANGELS and WATCHERS.
3. The books of Enoch only talks about "The Angels, children of the heaven" and the WATCHERS.

We found "All Fallen Angels" where also the Bible is talking about and their offspring were Giants, Anakim, Demons and Monsters.

There are countless stories of Fallen Angels and Gods of the Bible, and also in many myths and legends from all over the world. Many of these Gods were worshipped in ancient times and they were abundant as well as exceedingly mysterious. Playing the harlot and whoring after other Gods brought destruction to early man.

The most important stories about these Gods, Demi Gods, Demons and Monsters we can find in Mesopotamia, in the Sumerian, Acadian and Babylonian stories regarding the Anunnaki, Igigi and Sebitti.

You can somewhat see Paul in this also,

For example,

Ezek 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come,
and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned;
if the sword come, and take any person from among them,
he is taken away in his iniquity
;
but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day,
that I am pure from the blood of all men.

Acts 20:27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

He speaks of being pure from the blood of all men in respects to all the counsel of God.

You can following the same out in respects to iniquity in the words of Paul and departing from the same as well (Acts 3:26, 2 Ti 2:19, and warning every man in Col 1:28 to present every man perfect in Christ).

Or like in Jonah, I'll post that if I can find it.

If you study other cultures Egyptian, Aztec, Mayan they all have similar stories and myths about sons of God coming and breeding with humans. This has been going on for hundreds of thousands of years! The genes are still in us from these sons of God... Is the reason we still war against each other. When we become uncontrollable God just wipes us out and starts over. We are not alone in this galaxy. Some civilizations last longer and become mighty with the understanding they attain. Today we have great technology vast riches yet have not attained spiritual consciousness to live with one another.

He says in Jeremiah...

Jerm 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

Jerm 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

For example (after the fleeing the commission of the word of the LORD the first time) the word of the Lord came again to Jonah a second time.

Jonah 3:1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
Jonah 3:2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said,

Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

Jona 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way;

And God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

And again...

Jerm 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil,

I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

As the LORD hath said,

I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:

Similarly with Christ as here

Ezek 33:7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

Mat 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Mat 12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

They repented at the preaching of Jonas, and Jesus also was sent unto them to bless them (first) in this way

Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. (See 2 Ti 2:19 also)

Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

But right here again in respects to his blood will He require at the watchmans hand

Ezek 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

As Paul had said, "Woe to me, if I preach not the gospel"

But similarly says this as well.

Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

Acts 20:27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

As Paul can be seen preaching concerning the faith in Christ to Felix in Acts 24:25

As he (Paul) reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come,

Felix trembled
,
and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

There might be an example in a nation, as the disciples were sent to the nations also

i don't think it means that we should all be hanging out in the conspiracy theory section of the forums, or campaigning for the republican party.

i think it means to be serving one another by reminding each other to keep our focus on Christ, and building each other up in the Faith - and warning one another about being led astray by false doctrine or becoming entangled and engrossed with worldliness or worldly things, and by helping to encourage one another when the Adversary assails us with doubt, fear, worry and temptations.

pretty sure we can do all that without ever once dishonoring president Obama or mentioning the word "illuminati"

:)

so... you think it means that we should always be on the lookout so we don't get raped by alien angel/demigods?

ok.

i disagree with you, and i'm frankly disinterested in following that up with any more discussion.

NP was interesting I must of hit a nerve... is biblical history this was going on. Do you believe it has stopped?

There is archaeological evidence of a strong cultural connection between Sumer and ancient Egypt.
"Ptah and the other gods were called, in Egyptian, Ntr - 'Guardian, Watcher'."
- Zecharia Sitchin, The Wars of Gods and Men

During the fabled "First Time, Zep Tepi, when the gods ruled in their country: they said it was a golden age during which the waters of the abyss receded, the primordial darkness was banished, and humanity, emerging into the light, was offered the gifts of civilization. They spoke also of intermediaries between gods and men - the Urshu, a category of lesser divinities whose title meant 'the Watchers'. And they preserved particularly vivid recollections of the gods themselves, puissant and beautiful beings called the Neteru who lived on earth with humankind and exercised their sovereignty from Heliopolis and other sanctuaries up and down the Nile. Some of these Neteru were male and some female but all possessed a range of supernatural powers which included the ability to appear, at will, as men or women, or as animals, birds, reptiles, trees or plants.

Paradoxically, their words and deeds seem to have reflected human passions and preoccupations. Likewise, although they were portrayed as stronger and more intelligent than humans, it was believed that they could grow sick - or even die, or be killed - under certain circumstance."

- Graham Hancock, Fingerprints of the Gods

"The Anakim may have been Mycenaean Greek colonists, belonging to the 'Sea Peoples' confederation which caused Egypt such trouble in the fourteenth century B.C. Greek mythographers told of a Giant Anax ('king'), son of Heaven and Mother Earth, who ruled Anactoria (Miletus) in Asia Minor. According to Appollodorus, the disinterred skeleton of Asterius ('starry'), Anax's successor, measured ten cubits. Akakes, the plural of Nanx, was an epithet of the Greek gods in general. Talmudic commentators characteristically make the Anakim three thousand cubits tall."

- Robert Graves and Raphael Patai, Hebrew Myths: The Book of Genesis

hey I liked that song hehe.. Dudes in armor with staff/swords probably did happen in Ezekiel 33:6 and other scripture similier surely scripture wasn't being written only for future generations but people in real time battling raiders who were killing people taking land huh well I guess that's still going on in the world never mind... I like your quote about daily watching God experience I too find this quite fascinating the suddle little things in life that let us know his watching us too.

Im sorry you can't see the vast difference. Do we obey men on the one hand or obey God and His word? See 'The Great Ecclesiastcal Conspiracy'.
