These are things that I was taught during my early years - and have since determined to be NOT biblical.

Things I no longer believe:

~ Pre-Tribulation Rapture

~ The Rapture occurs in secret.

~ There will be a Second Coming and a Third Coming.

Although it was never actually said this way, this is essentially what it meant. What was actually said was along the lines of:

"Jesus 'comes back' to 'rapture the saints' - but, because His feet do not touch the ground - it doesn't count as His Second Coming."

("This has to be the most ridiculously absurd thing that I have ever heard in my entire life.")

~ The '70th Week of Daniel' is "separated" from the other 69 weeks.

~ The '70th Week of Daniel' represents a 7-year Tribulation Period.

~ There will be two Judgments - One for the Saved, and One for the Lost.

~ There will be a wedding, a supper, and a judgment in heaven during the 7-year Tribulation Period.

~ Any passage of scripture making reference to a fig tree is somehow related to Israel.

~ The temple will be rebuilt.

~ The Gap theory.

~ The Big Bang theory.

~ The Evolution theory.

That is all I can think of right now.

Were you taught erroneous doctrine?

What do you no longer believe?

The scope of this thread is NOT to debate these issues in particular - but rather, to assemble a collection of short posts containing thoughts and ideas about the changing beliefs of Christians over time...

"one that more people actually might be willing to read"...
(the whole thing)

Please keep the wording of your posts confined to lists of what has changed in your beliefs and short comments about those changes:

How you came about the change...
What made you change your mind...
How old you were when it occurred...

etc.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE LONG POSTS FULL OF SCRIPTURE IN THIS THREAD!

PLEASE DISCUSS THE ISSUE WITHOUT TRYING TO PROVE ANYTHING!

PLEASE DISCUSS THE ISSUE WITHOUT MAKING A DISSERTATION!

If you want to DEBATE an issue - GO START ANOTHER THREAD!
If you want to PROVE anything - GO START ANOTHER THREAD!

A short (one sentence or less) "generalized" thought-provoking "suggestion of proof" is O.K. -- but, please leave out the long detailed explanations...

Thank You.

I no longer believe Jacobs trouble, a 70 year captivity can be rerun
by a 7 yr tribulation rerun by using other rerun prophecies that have
absolutely nothing to do with any of it.:) nice try tho.

I used to hold to reformed theology. I used to believe I was "born a sinner" and that "Jesus was punished in my place" and due to this I waited on God to change me instead of making the choice to obey the lead God had already provided.

I was so completely deceived by the doctrine of Original Sin that I even made a video to help expose this satanic heresy.

I no longer believe anything I was taught by the religious movement in this country, outside if being taught that Jesus Christ is my LORD and Saviour.

Through my life I have been a part of more than half dozen religions and have studied the teachings of many more religions and every one of them have missed the mark, and almost every one of them teach the exact same thing.

You talk about following the traditions of man through the these religions. WOW

I no longer believe Ezekiel 28 or Isaiah 14 reference Satan at all or that Lucifer is Satan's name...
I no longer believe the Pre- Trib crap either but that's been a while since I dumped that idea.

I'll just put a few on my list that I used to believe, and now know to be incorrect.

1. Christians should tithe to the everlasting priesthood (Christians)
2. I have my own family separate from other Christian families
3. Something besides God is mine (my inheritance)
4. I can have kids to call my own

Jeremiah Chapter 24

1 The LORD shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the LORD, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

2 One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

3 Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

4 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

6 For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

I use to believe

1)

Then I realized

1)

So, I have concluded:

'b' through 'z' is relative to each person's deliverance into salvation. But that 'a' is having a foundation on Christ. Because without that, there is no other points to be made, except that we need to be 'bz' in Christ.

These are things that I was taught during my early years - and have since determined to be NOT biblical.
* The bar-code is the mark of the Beast.

* The Illuminati are the conspiracy buddies of the Beast.

* The Catholic leadership is the Little Horn on the Beast

* Christmas is the birth of Jesus.

* Jesus was crucified on "Good Friday."

* Speaking in tongues is a sign of dwelling in the Holy Spirit.

* All Protestant preachers are conservative Baptist Christians without any human problems whatsoever and their children are consecrated.

* All tithes and offerings collected by the church were for the support of missionaries, elderly widows, abandoned mothers with small children and for the support of orphans.

* All members of the US Military, US Congress and all US politicians exist to favor and protect all Christians worldwide.

* Divorce is utterly illegal by God and remarriage of the non-adultering spouse is adultery altogether.

* God's predestination of human behavior.

That's interesting. I used to hate Reformed Theology, and then I paid attention to Scripture.

I no longer believe:

* premarital counseling prevents divorce

* anointing the forehead with extra-virgin olive oil removes an illness

* sprinkling "holy water" in a room removes/prevents evil spirits

* all mental illnesses are demons

* daily prayer prevents catastrophes

* there exists "apostles" apart from those mentioned in the NT

* a person outside those in the Bible claiming to have prophecy from God is indeed a prophet

* Christians in general tell the truth on a daily basis
