it has been aptly demonstrated that the verses the op used are only a partial quote...the op left out the rest of that quote because it does not support his thoughts oropinions

this is the original op:

now lets look at what Jesus REALLY said

18A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

19“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 20You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’[SUP]a[/SUP]

21“All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.22When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

23When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy. 24Jesus looked at him and said,“How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

27Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

now here are responses to the op that were posted way back

and I posted this:

post 207

making what Jesus said about money, is not at all the point of the conversation

there is nothing prophetic in the op...he quotes HALF of the conversation between Jesus and the rich young ruler and you are doing no better by misquoting the rest of us
Yep, you are right, the word does say all that. what I received from DM's post was what my post reply was about, which was a check up or a quick recap on the situations we come across in life that effect us. I found his words challenging in a way that made me examine myself and search my conscience turning all thoughts over to Jesus to prove them for the fathers glory.

I heard nothing more in them, I did not hear accusation, I did not hear bitterness, but I did hear concern for fellow brothers and sisters in Jesus, do you not hear this?

When ever I open the BDF section, I read whatever I feel drawn to. I trust Jesus to show me what He wants me to read. I do look at other posts but always know why I wasn't drawn to them when I have read them.

I will say this for DM his posts do sometimes seem controversial. I do have to pray and listen through the Spirit to what he says, and his language does feel close to the " " Law " " sometimes, and his avatar shouts "Law" but the Spirit in his words say peace and love through concern for his fellow compatriots in Christ. He is never turned or bamboozled into a reaction that offends, at least from what I have seen so far, and he only joined CC this year.

I also get the feeling he loves Israel and I would imagine he prays for the peace of Jerusalem quite often. I do not know whether he is a messianic Jew or not, it does not bother me one way or another, If he keeps any feasts or days as more important than another that is up to him, Jesus can handle him just as Jesus has had to handle me and I keep no day or hour as more important than another.

I feel I need to add this, when Jesus stood up in the synagogue in Capernium, he read from the word and sat down. It says "All eyes were on Him", the way it is portrayed it sounded like there was a hush in the synagogue, and people there expected more, so, Jesus gave them more. They did not like it but that's what happened. Jesus did not read every word, they all knew it anyway, He only read enough so He could expound the spirit of the word which is life, not the letter of the law which produces death.

When I started reading this it was Friday night, I had just had an 11 hour drive and I was tired. From Saturday through to Sunday I could not find this thread, but something I saw within what I read touched me in some way and I could not understand what it was so I massaged DM to help me find it.

I read your answer to the op again, and it seemed to set a tone for the rest of the thread. My heart is still heavy to think that a Christian site should show such intolerance toward one who has not or dose not (as I have seen so far) hold anything but love and concern for his fellow travellers on this kingdom road we all walk.

God bless you in Jesus name.
