Just a reminder from Linus, forget the trees, and gifts, and shopping, remember a baby was laid in a manger to save a horrible sinful world, does it even matter what day we celebrate it on? or what used to be celebrated that day? The greatest news the world ever got. So lets put our differences aside and celebrate his birth

Sure, i would LOVE celebrating the birth of Jesus without the tree, santa, gifts etc etc, on another date than xmas, because the date DOES matter, don't you know? There's plenty on that topic in the forums already. So.... any suggestions about an alternative date? Preferably somewhere in summer or the beginning of autumn when He was REALLY born.... ;)

then you go ahead and celebrate Christ's birth on another day that you choose...you are free to do that....I will celebrate it on the day that I choose...I am free to do that.

do you know the exact day that Christ was born?

It is not that i hate Christmas in actual fact it was not long ago when it was one day i looked forward to...
From a child it was a time to receive gifts.

Being older it was a time when people would change somewhat and be happy and kind even if it was short lived it was nice to see people get along.

I do not know how each else has celebrated Christmas throughout their lives..

The people closest to me have not made mention of celebrating the birth of the Messiah.

The concern seems to be that i'm in some way missing out on something by not partaking in the worldly sense of celebrating this day.

People seem to be concerned with my children not getting gifts from "santa"!....

I consider that i'm breaking the tradition that most people close to me would find impossible to break because they are of this world.

While they find comfort in the darkness that is short lived my Spirit is full of joy and peace each day and i pray forever it be so.

The sad thing is that many prefer the gifts given to one and other and miss the Gracious Gift of our Lord.

The story of the Birth of the Messiah is heard during this time, and for some it may be they come to the Light..

I remember singing about baby Jesus all those years back...

For 20 + years i knew not why Yahshua the Messiah was born.. i thought some bad men had killed him..

i wanted to say this to bring light to thread that it is not of hate, but of Love.
So Peace and Blessings to you all in the name of Yahvah God and Yahshua the Messiah.

My heart is always celebrating the Birth of the Messiah i pray in Spirit and Truth.

I actually liked the suggestion to forget all about the tree, santa etc, and I think I reacted rather positively to this thread. I can't be bothered to comment on ALL threads about xmas btw, there are just too many of them at the moment. No worries, come december 27th it'll all be over for another year.
