The Bible tells us clearly not to put our trust in money. Our eyes should never be on money and money should never be our goal.

It is unwise to put your trust in uncertain riches. Rather, turn your eyes upon and put your trust completely
in the person of Jesus. Don’t make the mistake of pursuing the provision and missing the Provider.

The Word declares that it is the Lord who gives and provides us all that we need for our enjoyment.

Beloved,
when you have Jesus, you have everything. You have peace, righteousness, forgiveness, wisdom, health, power, provision, favor and every blessing. Now, this is true prosperity and good success.

So anchor yourself on Him and not on material things, and enjoy the security and unshakable peace that is found only in Jesus

Interesting, these verses came to mind:

"
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ" Eph 1:3

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." 2 Cor 8:9

It's funny that when the Israelites left their bondage, they were suddenly very wealthy it sounds like. The Egyptians were throwing jewelry and wealth at them and saying, Go! Just go!

But...that probably added a lot of weight to their backpacks and it was useless to them! There are no drive-thrus in the desert!

That wealth is what built the tabernacle.

Put our two posts together and it makes a fine contrast between walking in spirit and walking in flesh

Wealth could be used to gratify the fleshly lusts - if we choose to walk in the flesh - the calf.

Wealth could be used to honor God- if we walk in the spirit - the tabernacle.

Good point..maybe it was the Lord's "workout" plan for them as they carried the gold with them?..lol..the Lord is not opposed to His children having things..He is opposed to "things" having His children!

Even today, Many people work to be rich, they adore money. It becomes their idol.

"Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom." Pro 23:4

"For
the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Tim 6:10

MATTHEW 19

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Easy for Joseph Prince to say that given he's the tenth richest pastor in te world and he used to make a mere $50,000 a month. (wiki)

Sorry, but I think you have us confused with the Prosperity Message and the Name It and Claim It crew. We're not. We trust in Jesus, not Joseph Prince (Or Joel Olsteen.)

These are wise words, whether they came from the mouth of someone God has given wealth to or from the mouth of someone with little wealth! Wise words. :)

Just to keep the slander down to a minimum....here is a quote from your own source about his supposed wealth..don't believe all the lies you hear about your fellow brethren...and even if he was that rich...what is that to any of us? Joseph of Armithea was a disciple of the Lord and he was rich....

It's good to get your facts right before slandering people especially fellow brethren...

"Prince, also the executive chairman of the church council, acknowledged that he was "well-paid" but also added that "money doesn't have a hold on me", dismissing allegations that his salary was $50,000 a month.[SUP][3][/SUP]

In October 2014, a list published by entertainment website richestlifestyle.com placed Prince as the 10th richest pastor in the world, with a reported net worth of S$6.4 million (£3.13 million).[SUP][22][/SUP] New Creation Church dismissed the report, claiming that his actual net worth was 'substantially lower' than the reported figure.[SUP][22"

Amen..it is so easy for rich people to trust in their wealth and not in the Lord Himself. It is also easy for poor people to trust in themselves as well...it is never about the money - it is always about "Who do we have our trust and life in?"...us and what we can do?...or in the Lord Himself?

I find this truth to be forefront in every are of life from money on down to family, doing ministry, etc.

So 6.4 million or less? And he is in the top 10? Then pastors financially are really not wealthy group. But on average, they really shouldn't be.

MARK 12

42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

The article said that he was not in the top 10 and that his net worth was substantially lower then what was reported.

I believe the Lord will give wealth to those that are kingdom minded so that they can be a blessing to others.

The OP is not about a man but in trusting in Jesus for everything and not money. Let's keep the focus on the Lord here ....thank you..

I said what I meant to say. I'm neither for nor against money. But I'll trust someone more who didn't get most of his money by "preaching the gospel," I'll trust someone more about what he preaches if it weren't always the prosperity message instead of the real message, and I'll trust someone more if he practiced what he preaches. Tell me he isn't rich and he didn't make his money over books about the prosperity message. Poor people just don't get carted off to different countries by private lear jet to preach God's message. And believers wouldn't be preaching along side Joel Olsteen, they'd be preaching to Joel Olsteen.

I don't trust the guy nor his message. A good lie is always wrapped up in 90% truth. It's the other 10% that's the problem.

I am not saying I want to be rich by any means I just want a way to buy me a huge piece of land in the middle of no place build myself a cabin and grow a huge garden and be at peace with the quite country and enjoy the tranquility of what is around me and get rid of the crazy ways of main society to much hurrying, grumpiness, self centered egotistical idiots oh I am sorry I lost my thoughts there. anyways the peace of what god gave us would make me feel richer then any person who works 80 hours a week and drive a different car everyday to their horrible demanding job
