You guys like to move away from the scripture in question and jump to another. So, let's stick with the scripture at hand. The answer is given right in the scripture which states that Jesus was going back to the "Father’s house" to prepare places for us and that He would come back to get us so that where He is we may be also. If you would pay attention to the scripture you would understand this.

The reference to "My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them," is referring to the believer being indwelt by the Spirit of God. This is basically the same thing that Jesus meant when He said the following:

"
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me. "

They both mean that the spirit of Jesus and the Father would come in and indwell the believer, having fellowship with him.

I will not disturb you with Revelation anymore. Let's deal with the Father's house- where is it?
If Jesus goes to prepare a place for us where we will dwell with Him and the Father and then later say that if we love Him and obey His commands, He and the father will come and make a home in us- it only implies that the home for the Father/Son/Holy spirit is with the believers.

In the Lord's prayer, we say "..may your kingdom come..." You completely missed the point.
Do we say this while in heaven or while on earth? if we say this while on earth, it means the kingdom comes on earth as opposed to us going to heaven.

How many times does the bible say "god's dwelling place is with men"?

2 Corinthians 6:16
What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people."

1 Timothy 3:15
so that, if I am delayed, you will know how each one must conduct himself in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

Hebrews 3:6
But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are His house, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope of which we boast.

Conclusion: Heaven, is no other place than the believers heart and which kind of believer? the 144k faithful believers- in them, even the souls of the other slain saints will dwell with God forever, here on earth. This is the house of God, the new Jerusalem- hence the measurement the angel gives in rev 21 of '144 cubits in human measure'.
Go ponder that.

Two simple theological questions?

How do I get saved?
By Grace -

Eph 2: 8-9
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, [SUP]9 [/SUP]not of works, lest anyone should boast.

By Gods mercy

Titus 3: 5 [SUP]5 [/SUP]not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

By True Heart belief and calling out in confession

Rom 10: 8-10
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): [SUP]9 [/SUP]that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

How do I get to heaven? Assuming I got saved....
By Jesus - being risen on the last day

John 6: 39-40
[SUP]39 [/SUP]This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. [SUP]40 [/SUP]And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Being "Caught up" (Raptured) in the sky to meet our savior

1 Thess 4: 15-18
[SUP]15 [/SUP]For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are [SUP][d][/SUP]asleep. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [SUP]17 [/SUP]Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Therefore comfort one another with these words.

It is a comforting thought to know that no matter what era we live in on this temporary earth , those who are in Christ Jesus are always with the LORD , He will never forsake those in the end , He will come back Himself for them , He will not lose one , no not one , praise God and thank You Jesus...xox...

Amen, As paul said And thus we shall always be with the Lord. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Therefore comfort one another with these words.

What great HOPE we have in christ.

Titus 1: 2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,

Which we place all our hope..

Titus 3: 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

and this hope will never disappoint.

Rom 5: 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

And since faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

Heb 11: 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith will never be lost, because it will never disappoint to the point we lose faith. And knowledge of the fact we have eternal life is the basis for continuing to believe in Christ.

1 John 5: 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Hello again Deade,

Regarding the church being heaven, here is another scriptural proof:

"I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven."

Hi Ahwatukee

What we are is not what we will be when we receive our new incorruptible bodies.

We are already made aware the
kingdom of God does not come by observation or what the eyes see. The reformation has come. It was the apostate Jews that required a sign as that which the eyes see before they would believe. It appeared to blind them and they stumbled over the cross as part of Christ ministry, according to 1 Corinthians 1:22-23 .

The law or judgment of faith.

John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

I would offer. We understand God or walk by faith, the things not seen. The bride of Christ the new name God named His bride of born again believers. She is made up of male and female Jew and Gentile a new creation is Christian . A word that literally means... "residents of the city of Christ" the new heavenly Jerusalem typified by the earthly jerusalmen with Christ the founder of that city, her husband. The new heavenly Jerusalem is where our citizenship and birth records are stored. I would think no need for mothballs.

Two simple theological questions?

How do I get saved?

How do I get to heaven? Assuming I got saved....
Your 1st question was specifically asked of Jesus. And he told what YOU must DO to gain eternal life:

Mark 10:17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I DO that I may inherit eternal life?”

Jesus then relates that if you are calling Him "good", why not go all the way and call Him Lord instead of Teacher since only God is good? I don't think he made the connection right away. Then He answers his question:

Mark 10:
18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ”20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”

His answer is that he has never sinned. Interesting that although HE believed he had kept the WHOLE Law, he still felt something was missing for him to get to heaven. He wasn't trying to trap Jesus like the Pharisees that hated him. He earnestly wanted to know.

I am of the belief that this man came to know Jesus. I don't know for certain, but I love the idea that Jesus says He loves this man in the Mark account.

Mark 10:
21 Then Jesus, looking at him, LOVED him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

So we are given the 2 ways to be saved. Keeping ALL the Law. Your WHOLE life. If you can do that, then tell Jesus to move over as He sits on His Throne. OR accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior as He DID keep ALL the Law!

Two simple theological questions?

How do I get saved?
First, you try really hard to keep the law perfectly before God.

Matthew 19:16-17
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Then the Lord shows you that you are not keeping the law perfectly before Him.

Matthew 19:20-21
[SUP]20 [/SUP]The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

So now what? Eternal Life is through obedience to the law but you can't do it.

Matthew 19:25-26
[SUP]25 [/SUP]When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
[SUP]26 [/SUP]But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Only God can save. You have to know this in your heart before you make the next step.

Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

This is essential. You must come to Christ to be saved. But why would you come to Him and ask for something that you thought you could earn yourself? Your own "wisdom" would keep you from the very thing that you thought you were earning yourself.

James 4:2-3
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

How do I get to heaven? Assuming I got saved....
Once you learn that Salvation is not from you but it is from God you understand that ALL of your blessings come from Him.

Your trust and faith in the Lord is what will determine whether you dwell in the House of the Lord.

The same way you got saved is the same way you get to heaven.

The same way you got saved is the same way you receive all your blessings.
