So what are you saying?

There is no such thing as being born again?

Or you think the Light being spoken of in 1 Tim 6:16 is the Kingdom too?
Let me guess, you have three pennies in your hand.....but somehow I know your heart doesn't really care to hear so I do appreciate the questions. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Proverbs 17:16

(But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me?)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:24

Then Jesus repeats Himself, but adds clarity:

5Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit."

so that from above = water and Spirit.

But it could also be that He was referring to 2 different things, since in the first He says "...see the kingdom...", and in the 2nd, "...enter the kingdom...".
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
John 8:42

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor 2:9

if your just born of flesh, its not enough.
You're real close.

Jesus was saying John's ministry of repentance (through the waters of baptism) was not enough to see the kingdom. Repentance births a natural kingdom and nation of people, not a spiritual kingdom and nation of people.

You can see how important of a message this is to Nicodemus and the Jews who have been prepared for the coming of Christ through John's ministry of repentance but who now have to experience the necessary spiritual birth by the Spirit of God through Jesus' ministry. Both must happen in order for a person to see the kingdom of God.

Jesus is speaking of both the physical and non-physical aspects of being born again, water and the spirit. It is through water and the spirit that we are born again and saved.

[...]

Jesus telling Nicodemus that one must be born of water and the spirit is no different then when He said whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. (Mark 16:16)
And not just the act of water baptism, but repentance in general. John's water baptism was how you repented and became a different person, that new person in a sense being born of water. Thus 'water' is a metonym for the birth of a man through repentance.

But that is not enough to be in the kingdom of God. It's enough to be in the natural, visible kingdom of God, but not enough to be in the unseen spiritual kingdom of God. Both 'births' are necessary to enter into the kingdom of God. The Jews had the first part down through the ministry of John, now they have to follow through with the second part, the spiritual birth, through the ministry of Jesus.

"I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me... He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."-Matthew 3:11

It's quite possible that being born of water and the spirit refers to simply being born of the spirit. Jesus nowhere made a direct connection between being born of water and being born of the flesh.
