Romans 10: 4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
Romans 10: 4 For the end of the law is Christ, unto justice to every one that believeth.
Oh..indeed ?

hmm I wonder if people ask this because Paul spoke specifically against homosexuality, the role of men and women, the law, etc

IE all the things people try to deny, so that they are not persecuted

I'm trying hard to keep count here, but it's a real task........sigh.......

Ok, lessee:

PAUL is a fraud, a false apostle........is that about right?

If so, then

Peter is a fraud, a false apostle..........
James is a fraud a false apostle...........(read Book of Acts)
EVERY apostle who was at the church in Jerusalem, and every elder, and every member of that church ARE FRAUDS.
God is a fraud and a false God...........Why, well, Goodness if a God who was so powerful and great as to be able to Create all that was/is/will be...........How on earth could He not keep the writings of this Paul fellow out of His Book of Truth? If Paul is a false apostle, then either God is a false God, or not nearly as powerful as is claimed...........

So, we are left with this inane assertion that Paul was a false apostle..............OR, we can simply accept the Word of God as Truth...........those who make such a claim against Paul, not only deny Paul, they deny the Word of God, and they deny God.

Inane to the n'th degree..................(but, now, that may be just me)

As for me and my house................................YOU ROCK APOSTLE PAUL!

There was a (short) time in my life that I entertained the idea that Jesus was a different God than God, and, I prayed to God to settle in the Truth to me. It wasn't long after that Scripture just flew at me from the pages. God answers prayer.

Now, regarding Paul, there is absolutely no way in the world Paul is a false apostle. This thread is though one I see compassion for the person because they are hearing things from Paul that make them think they are judging them, most, specifically, I reckon, it's 'homosexuality,' as Paul, in his epistles speaks VERY harshly of that act. But, Paul KNOWS that God Loves the person that is PRACTICING homosexuality, He just HATES the act. Pure and simple. And , God's consistent, completely consistent, He feels the same way of ALL sin , which is nothing more, or, less, than "seperation from God."

You can bet your last sea dollar that IF we sin, then, there ARE consequences, and, we ARE, therefore, having to deal with discipline ON OUR FLESH, and, we having sinned have CHOSEN to seperate ourselves from God. So, God disciplines His own, He disclipes those "whom He Loves." Get that last part? "Whom He Loves." :)

So, OK, so, Paul is pretty terse and brass-tacks speaking of sin, as, Paul does not shortshrift his feelings on things, although, there are times Paul speaks compassionately to folk, it's NOTHING like Jesus' shown compassion to some in the Gospel writings of Matthew , Mark, Luke, and, John . But, Paul is NOT Jesus, so, there is a distinction, hopefully, everyone can see.

But, Paul is speaking His words to parchments based on knowledge learned from God, as, in Scripture, opinion is FACT. And, it's FACT from the holy, breathed words of The Almighty, who is Jesus, Who is The Word, Who is God . :)

I bet he was a southerner..........say what you mean, mean what you say..... :) No doubt Paul spoke the Word of God, and he didn't mince around doing it! In today's politically correct world, where no one is allowed to speak the truth for fear of hurting someone's feelings..........why should I be surprised that there are those who would reject Paul?

God bless Brother........

How many of you think that Paul's teachaings are in opposite to what Christ said ?
It is not likely on a Christian forum you will find any support for this proposition, except perhaps among some atheists. I think, however, that you are right.

Are you familiar with the the works of the biblical scholar, Robert Eisenman? Eisenman, of course, is Jewish. He is no atheist -- as far as I know.

I see by your profile that you are "not a Christian," so I can understand why you reach the conclusion you do........maybe one day the Holy Spirit will move upon your heart, and you will experience the Joy of belonging to Christ.

1st Corinthians 1:19) For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 .) Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 .) For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 .) For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 .) But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 .) But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 .) Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 .) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 .) But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 .) And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 .) That no flesh should glory in his presence.

ooooh,,,,,,the strong delusion,,,,,,,,,,,,,"if they say unto me Beelzebub, what more will they unto ye?",begin with Paul, you do thourghly understand satin himself became,,,"an angel(messenger) of light",,,,,,,THE STRONG DELUSION,,,,that is the Jews of old set eyes on Jesus and said "thou art Beelzebub, the devil and the 12 are your fallen angels,,,",,,lol

you will begin with Paul and be afraid, then remember peter endorsed Paul and gave letter to Paul and Barnabas sending Silas and Judas as witness and James and john the same(acts 15;23-31),,,and (2nd peter 3;15-16),,,,so remove James,john,revaluations,1st john,2nd and third,,,,(because they endorsed Paul),,,,,,and acts and Luke for he was a disciple of Paul, and also endorsed him.,,,,,,,,

is Paul a false prophet?,,,is peter confused? is James tricked into endorsing the devil?,,,,is john a baby unlearned?,,,,,now they all have endorsed Paul as an apostle to the gentiles, which one of us are more the clever then these?,,,,,,,,remove the letters of Paul, then the letters of those who endorsed him,,,,,don't take my word for it,look at the scripture i provided of the testimony of the apostles.

the strong delusion will eat you alive,,,,"is Jesus the devil,or is he the son of god,,,are the apostles from the father or are they the fallen angels whom followed satin????",,,,,,,are you becoming a christian or are you becoming a Jew????,,,eat my flesh,,drink my blood,,,,,,whosoever eateth that which is sacrificed unto god or any manner of blood is no more part of Israel,,,,"this is my body, this is the cup split",,,hmmmm,,,are you offended that i say "eat my flesh and drink my blood"??????,,,,,,,,,

Ever notice how someone might throw a monkey wrench into a forum and get others to debate one another? Someone who just joined the site and this post gets so many responds? How i cant believe it's gotten this much attention. Never placing scripture in making this type of claim. But please, don't stop on my account. Reality shows don't have nothing on forums like this. Lord forgive me for being entertained by post like this.

why would atheists have an opinion one way or the other?
don't you all believe the bible is a hoax or summink?

perplexing why ppl bother spending their time fussing about a mythical dragon in somebody's carport:)

in reality - you do know there is a God, and you know who He is.

i know the heartbreak of finding out the world lied about santa. i was crushed also. didn't trust adults after that.
even the newsmedia went along with it - deceiving children - for fun. tsk.

however...such a huge effort at blurring what the traditional meaning of Christmas is - not withstanding the opinions of christians who hate on Christmas:rolleyes: - is a pretty good clue something is up. commericalism isn't the answer.
that is easily debunked.

I was raised to believe the Bible was the Word of God, and for a time this was was how I understood the world. I could have been described as a creationist. Today I am an atheist, but before I turned away I pleaded to God to reach out and touch me. He never did, at least not in a way I recognized. So if he rejected me when I was receptive, why would he reach out once I had lost all desire to believe?

I am curious. In what way do you suppose God has "made foolish the wisdom of the world?" I can't see it.

Being "raised in the Bible to believe" does not make one a Christian...........recognizing that we are living a life of sin, apart from God, answering the call of the Holy Spirit who brings us under conviction, and with a sincere and contrite heart, falling on our knees and confessing our sinful existence to God, and asking for Him to forgive us of our sins, and inviting the Saviour Jesus Christ into our hearts is what makes us BELIEVERS.....disciples of Christ..........saved.........and worthy to be called His children. Just saying........I hear a lot of people claim to be believers, and they speak of their Mother or Grandmother, and how they were strong Church going people and such..............We are NOT born as Christians based on our earthly heritage, we become believers via God's Salvation Plan.

Don't know about this "creationist" thing, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, and this is how we should all be described. We being believers...........The Good News is: today you are not an atheist, now, you may be "border line" agnostic, but not atheist. You have already admitted that you believed at one time in your life that God existed, and you also say:

[but before I turned away I pleaded to God to reach out and touch me. He never did, at least not in a way I recognized. So if he rejected me when I was receptive, why would he reach out once I had lost all desire to believe?]

This statement, in an of itself, proves that you are not an atheist. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT! Agnostic? Probably. Seeking for "evidence" that God REALLY IS REAL? Yup. But not an atheist. Please accept this as "Good News" for it surely is in my opinion........ :)

God WILL NEVER forsake His children! Just saying. And you even admit "at least not in a way I recognized......." Being "receptive" is not "faith." It is not "belief." Being receptive is the statement/condition of an agnostic in my opinion. PLEASE BE SURE TO UNDERSTAND that I am IN NO WAY condemning you...........simple giving you my thoughts....

I will say this: I firmly believe that God hears all prayers prayed by a sincere and contrite heart............sometimes the problem is folks want the answer to be a

BOLT OF LIGHTENING --- THIS BIG!

When in reality the answer is a still, soft voice deep within THE SINCERE AND CONTRITE HEART.

I do not believe or accept that you "have lost the desire to believe..........." (PM me and I will give you my email, and if ever you just want to sound off or something, please, PLEASE email me........I will answer...) ...Now, I am no great Theologian, or any such thing.......but I will share with you what I know of Scripture, and of the wondrous JOY of God's love.

With regards to "the wisdom of the world," Just look at all of mans wisdom........is there REALLY ANY of it that one can PLACE THEIR COMPLETE TRUST AND FAITH IN? Any of it? This is how it is made foolish, because ONLY GOD is perfect, and through His Grace, one day His children will be perfected!

God bless...and thank you for responding

Truthfully, many atheists simply do not care. In the view of many God is not real, the Bible is a lot of malarkey, and so why bother with it. On the other hand, why wouldn't an atheist have an opinion about the Bible? I have my degree in history. I have a deep intellectual curiosity about many historical fields and a long standing interest in classical antiquity; and I would dearly love to figure out how a Jewish man in the first century was transformed into a god.

I have two sons. Both are atheists. One has no interest in the Bible and never gives it a second thought. The other shares my interest in history and like me would like to resolve the same issue. He is constantly studying the Bible and keeping works by biblical scholars close at hand as reference material. He is quite certain now that he understands how Jesus was transformed by Paul into God. Oh, his other areas of interest are Alexander the Great and Napoleon Bonaparte; yet he is neither Macedonian nor French.

I would argue that most biblical authors were sincere in their belief. The Bible is an old and complex document and just about anything I would have to say about it is going to come out as a generalization that is accurate only for some parts of scripture.

You know I also have quite a number of books on classical Greek and Roman mythology. How would you account for that interest? I own and have read many books on Hitler, including my copy of Mein Kampf. I am no Nazi so how do you explain that? You perceive the Bible differently than I do. For you it is the primary source for information on God; for me it is only one source among many for information on how men created God.

Oh dear. You have come completely to the wrong conclusion, and you’ve completely ignored the whole message of my testimony. Why would you do that?

Believe when I tell you, I am a true atheist.

Perhaps you could have come on His terms...not yours...to the Place where He bore your sins in His body...as a sinner in need of a Savior...not as a sinner in need of a 'touch'.

1) It is purely foolish to assume complex things literally came to life by random chance and accident, especially true when you come to the realize God is real. (Yes, we all will come to that realization either in this life or the next.)

2) To believe there is no god when sometime later you will see that He does exist. I hope you find that out before it is too late.

3) It is foolish to think Heaven and Hell do not exist when you go to one or the other places.

4) Of course it is massive foolishness to reject the free gift of salvation from God, the whole time you consider it a fairly tale. Then one day you find yourself there. Pure foolishness while you think you are wise.
