Here is a Jan 16 quote from him talking about this...

Heaven Is For Real Ministries

Dear Friends -

I know there has been a lot of talk about the truth of other Heaven stories in the past few days. I just wanted to take a second and let everyone know that I stand by my story found in my book Heaven is for Real.

I still remember my experience in Heaven. I want to keep telling people about my experience because it has given hope to so many people.

People may have their doubts about my story, but the thing is, I wasn’t coaxed into doing this. I wanted to tell people about my experience.

In fact, I started sharing my story with my friends and people in our town way before there was a book called Heaven is for Real.

I hope that my story continues to point people to Jesus.

He really, really loves you.

Man, I hate to be the guy who tells you this, but that kid has admitted he made the whole story up.

Yep...it was someone else looking for attention. This stuff does happen and there are false claims for sure that can and have been done in the past.

What was neat too about the Colton boy is that he said he saw his other sister in heaven. The mother said..what one?. He said the one that died in your belly. The parents had never told their kids about a miscarriage they had. Cool!

Are we talking about the same kid?

I think I may have goofed.

I thought you were talking about this boy:

Sorry for the mistake.

Look how the author of this article calls the Colton kid....this is disgraceful in my mind....this guy who wrote this is either an unbeliever in Christ or an unbeliever in the fact that the Lord can take people to heaven.

Here is his quote:

"This makes Colton Burpo the only little adorable liar to still claim he died, saw God, and then came back and cashed in. "
While I personally don't believe those trips to heaven and back are real, it certainly doesn't mean they can't be true. And yes, the author of the article is disgustingly disrespectful.

Again, it was not the Colton Burpo kid. He did not admit he made the whole story up. That was the Malarkey kid he admitted he made the whole story up. Please keep it straight. Thanks. God bless.

No, that was Kevin Malarkey. But I wouldn't put it past Colton or his family to have made up the story or have embellished it.

The Objective Answer = Does it even matter? All we need to care is that Jesus is Savior and Lord... all else is irrelevant. If people want to go bickering on about race (which is really petty and useless), it won't make a dime of difference for salvation. At the end of the day, whether Jesus was white, black, yellow, red or a mix doesn't determine salvation. Whether or not you accept Him as Savior and Lord, however, does. I won't care on the day of Resurrection what color Jesus is. I'll just be thankful that he saved me (LOL)!

Well, not stupid probably, but a bit naive? Jesus of Nazareth........ He (in man form) was a Jew from the town of Nazareth, so, what color do you suppose he would have been?

I think that was the reason for the question...... most folks with any geographical awareness would assume He was a "swarthy fellow"... but all the representations/drawings/"pictures" of Him that you see show him to be long blond-haired, blue eyed, almost delicate looking. A bit confusing for some folks....

Sure, if one is either under 18 years of age, or completely unfamiliar with the Bible :)

However, in my experience, sometimes questions like this are what is called "fishing" questions.......designed to reel in folks then see what one catches..... :)

Yes, I agree. If the OP had asked the question, then followed up with questions that seemed to encourage arguments, I would be a little suspicious, but it seems that he/she truly wanted to know what others thought about it. Whether they are under 18, or not Biblically "knowing", I see it as our job to gently nudge them in the right direction (assuming WE know what that direction is, of course ;))
