Let me clarify what I think your point is. You think that the people who fellowship together in congregations are the problem with unity in the church of Christ today?

In some ways you are correct. To the extent that most churches today do not follow the pattern set up by the apostles in the first century church, and have chosen their own plans, it has led to division. This is because tradition has become more important then scriptures in guiding the Christian life. And if the scriptures get in the way, people just filter them and translate them to fit their preconceived ideas.

But your way is worse. There are certainly items in your list that are unbiblical. And what is the purpose of the church? The church was created for us, not for God. Teaching is only a small part of the church's purpose. What about love? How does one love one another in isolation? What about caring? How does one care about each other alone in front of his/her computer? What about support? How does one support each other when there is no other? How can we work to build each other up in faith, when we are alone?

Jesus instructed his apostles in how He wanted the church to be organized. It is man's pride and lust for self glorification that has led to the demise of today's church. But a broken church is better than no church at all. There are congregations that do follow the pattern of the first century church. I am a member of one of them. Search out such a congregation. No church congregation is perfect. However, I believe it best to follow Jesus' advice and seek to follow the pattern He set in the beginning to the extent that we are able.

I think that people that congregate in churches are being taught the wrong doctrine. Thats why my believe list is so foreign to them. They never heard it, were never taught. My point is ..that all that I've met who havn't learnt the Word of God in a church have the same doctrine, the same spirit. They understand the same. They never studied together, but they got the same out of it. Now you guys will imply that we dont have the HS and that we got it all wrong. But we searched for God, his truth and didn't search for a church to belong to, or friends, etc..It was God we wanted to know and we went to his written word to find him, then we went to try the churches to share our newfound love but couldn't fit in because what they were teaching contradicted what we had read and we noticed it straight away (i did at least) and went back for a while but couldn't take the lies in the end. If we had stayed we would of been trouble-makers. Not good. Best to walk away.

Yes true Dave, but when corrected do they say "We made a mistake" no, that would make them look bad, so they have to find a way to cover up and go around it.

I wrote the list so that anybody can pick a subject and challenge. I am happy and confident to take up that challenge. I have knowledge on those issues, I can guide to the scriptures of why I believe that. But like I've said before. I will not deal with scorners. I have nothing to prove to them. Only the ones seeking the truth. If someone says something to me that I dont agree with, then i dont mock them. I ask them how they came to this conclusion and we discuss. You get better
results in the end when it's done in love.

But quite a few people on this site say..False...never heard of that before...and accuse and dont even ask why I or we believe in that. They have already made their mind up and they throw in a little sarcasm along the way. NOT GOOD. Jesus said dont throw your pearls to the swine. These are precious jewels here we are talking about. You guys dont want them.

The purpose of the early church was to spread the word. They didn't have bibles to read for themselves so they attended church and it was read out to them. From there the word has spread. We have the Word of God on hand now, to refer back to..

Have you heard of Love thy neighbour. Do you think that we are only to love Christians? Do you think that not going to church is isolation? Everyday we walk in the spirit. Whereever we go. Our deeds go with us. We are not alone.

Sharing the truth on the computer is a way of talking to the world right from your loungeroom. Giving truth is support. The truth comforts. It is the comforter. All hope then is not in vain. God will never leave us alone. He will always provide a brother in christ for fellowship. He provides quality, not quantity.

The church had to start somewhere didn't it? It was organized, but it is corrupted now. Look at all the different teachings. They're all offshoots of other religions ordained by man and not God. God's church is not in a building made out of stone. Jesus told us that. Why cant people understand his speech. God is spirit and his church is spirit.

I wouldn't want to belong to a church that wasn't perfect, for God is perfect. If the church aint perfect and you know it, then something is wrong. The Word of God is perfect. It cant be tampered with.

Thank you for not being a smarty pants! We can do a challenge dave. Test the spirits. We can go to the scriptures on whatever subject you want. See which scriptures fit and which ones dont. I'm still waiting for someone sincere and I'm ready. I'll answer the best I can according to my knowledge.

Notice the pattern above. Baptism, followed by teaching, fellowship, communion.

Even the early church, led by the apostles was not perfect. There were problems with aid to Greek widows that had to be addressed. There were problems with those who wanted Gentiles to be circumsized that led to the first conference at Jersusalem. Paul had to take Peter to task for refusing to eat with Gentiles. And yet you think that you can do better than the apostles. Is that realistic? God bless you in your efforts, but I will take my stand with an ekklesia of bible believing Christians.

By the way, journey, since your church is perfect, you must be perfect as well.

Romans 14: 9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. 10 But you, why do you judge your brother ? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt ? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD." 12 So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. 13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this -not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.

Ponder the above in your heart, as you lump all Christian congregations into your stereotypic church, and judge them as unworthy for the Kingdom of God.

That may be scriptural. It is better to check the Scriptures to see whether this is so. The millennium is now.

I don't want to get into the whole filioque issue. But as for the silver plaques, I'm wagering they were stolen in one of the many invasions of Rome between the 6th century and the Renaissance. That or when the current Saint Peter's Basilica was built in the Renaissance the plaques were moved and lost. As for Saint Leo the III of course he is blessed he was the Pope and he's been canonized.

You say Angels are bodiless powers! Sorry but you are wrong. Look for example at the Angels who came to Abraham. They even sat down & had a meal. Then when in Sodom the people wanted to have sex with them. Just one example of many. Just do a simple search of God's word & you will find the error in your statement!!!!!
