It bothers me to see so many of us thinking we have a lock on the Truth and everyone else is a heretic. The ego it must take to think you know it all above reproach is astounding. People hold positions like they were Marines holding a hill. Yet Truth is not a hill to be defended, it is a mountain to be climbed every day. To hear so many boast that they've reached the top just grieves my spirit. And I have to wonder what the Holy Spirit thinks about it as well.
Have your beliefs, defend them, debate them, hold them dear. But don't EVER assume that you are the last authority on them. And don't stick such assumptions in the face of your brethren. The belief you are afraid to test is the belief that is questionable. For it is only by testing that one is made strong.
Gee I think I read that somewhere before... anybody know where?
