What a nice selection of scripture, so inspiring.

However, I don't think it is important at all what we believe. There is truth, and truth is God. God created us, and scientist and bible students have been trying to figure it all out ever since but never truly have.

What any of us think has no effect at all on what is truth. It is just as we get closer to truth, we live a more joyful abundant life that doesn't end with our physical death. Trying to make what we believe come closest to truth is what cc is all about.

It is good for people to share what they believe. We learn from each other.

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

That is the Nicene Creed. It is the Christian profession of faith. Every Sunday we make a solemn profession of our faith by reciting the Nicene Creed. It is a summary of faith expressed by the Councils of Nicaea (325 A.D.).

Can you recite it from memory?

People could learn from each other. They seem to prefer attacking each other, though. How come?
When people attack instead of learning and looking for truth together, it is not from God. We are brothers and sisters learning together, and like your initial post, building each other up.

Of course. Why do you ask? If you don't mind my asking.
Because creeds are all well and good, but the words I live by are the words of Jesus Christ. These are documented in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

As I indeed do. As we all should.

Yes, resurrection. That is correct. Those are the four Gospels of Jesus Christ our Lord.

God bless.

Resurrection, the Nicene Creed was written by a council of Christian ministers in the year 323 or so (Took them three years of working to compose it) when so much was written about Christ with different ideas of Him that the world had to have someone decide who Christ really was, and what they were to believe as the truth. Some were even saying that Christ was not God. This so rings of truth that most churches use this to explain themselves, even though it isn't in the bible.

It is right to question it, and check it with the bible, but it checks out. Some of what was done at that council doesn't check out, like when they changed the Passover as a celebration of Christ freeing us from sin to a celebration they called Easter. Some say that checks out with bible, too, but there are questions about that. But the creed does check out, I have never heard of one person questioning it. Also, the fruits of that creed in our world are great.

Hi Ress. not that I expect you to answer me, as you never do lol; I was just wondering why it is that you never mention the book of Revelation of JESUS CHRIST to Saint John? after all, its only an exact copy of Genisis, with the only difference being that Genesis is the physical examples of spiritual Revelations. Revelation = To Reveal.

In the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus is extensively quoted. Never heard anyone say that Revelation is an exact copy of Genesis before. I suspect that isn't true.

Genesis; Our Father's Truth, fully & completely. with the rest of the Bible being nothing more than the recorded proofs of what He said in Genesis.

If I were to lift up a part of the Bible, it would be Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, because I believe Jesus is God in flesh, and these four books document his life.

Well, instead of commenting on 100 threads all at once, I'm just commenting on the two I started today. That gives me time to have a discussion.
