i did not say that. What i said was exactly this.:

Therefore i did not single her out, as you make it seem.

and it is true that those who do evil, but if we look at the text:

"He will reward each one according to his works: to the ones on the one hand, who, by patient persistence in doing righteousness, seek for glory, honor and immortality, He will give eternal life. But to the ones on the other hand, who are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, He will give indignation and wrath.” Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man who does evil: to the Yahdai(Jew) first, and also to the Greek (Gentile) But glory, honor, and peace to every man who works righteousness: to the Yahdai first, and also to the Greek."

one that person has shown noting ill mannered, and seems to be here honestly seeking, not here playing religion like some people seem to do here, NOT IMPLY YOU AT ALL! you also seem sincere, but I dont know eiter one of you but some in general...

Here is the Truth, those who are righteous, do righteousness
Those who are unrighteous, do unrighteousness.
Honor and Glory and Peace to them that do righteousness
Tribulation and Anguish to them that do unrighteousness
You reap what you sow, whether good or evil.
If you do Good, Blessings
If you do Evil, punishments
Scriptures plainly teach these Truths.

^i^
It seemd like you were only presenting only one side and that person did not say anything I read that was against that, sorry if I offended you.(edit) im sorry if I misunderstood your intent and misrepresented you off hat misunderstood intent.

I agree for it is PLAINLY written;

Yahchanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

Hi. Thats a great and valid question my friend. Now, go with me to Proverbs 1:7. The Bible says that wisdom begins by fearing God (and so does Prov.9:10). What does this mean? Proverbs 8:13 defines it for us: " The fear of the Lord IS to hate evil....."
And WHY would you hate evil? because when you do evil you WILL be punished for it. You reap what you sow, you repay for the wrong that you did, tribulation and anguish upon EVERY person that does evil deeds.
i hate evil, if i do that which is evil, i will fear Him because He will punish me. He will punish me, because of two things, 1) He loves me and 2) His Word says He will, and He CAN'T lie.
Here is the Truth, those who knowingly and willingly commit sin, love to commit that sin. Because if they hated that sin, they would not knowingly and willingly commit it now would they?
Better learn to hate sin, before it is too late. Good News though, its not to late, there is still time, you are still breathing. ONLY when Christ comes or you cease to breath any more will it be too late.

sin and evil also has a terrible impact on those around us, close or far.

I actually , to a certain extent, agree with those who say that fear means fear.
Look at the OT, they all knew God and they were terrified when faced with him.

That being said, once we HAVE come to be scared of Him, that should make us live more like He wants us to, which gives us reason to rejoice rather than fear.

we know His fury has been poured out on Jesus, but He is still the one who knows all we have done and thought, and who will judge us. I don't think it was mere surprise at the bright light that struck Saul to the ground.

"Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king." (I Peter 2:17)

In this verse, we read of "honour" or "respect" in relation to what our proper attitudes towards "all men" and "the king" should be and we also read of "fear" in relation to what our proper attitudes towards "God" should be. Peter used two different underlying Greek words here, friends, and he did so for a reason. The underlying Greek word which is here twice translated as "honour" in relation to what our proper attitudes towards "all men" and "the king" should be is "timaō" and by following this link...

Greek Lexicon :: G5091 (KJV)

...you can see the 21 usages of this underlying Greek word in the New Testament. On 19 occasions it is translated as "honour" as in "honouring" our father and mother and on two occasions it is translated as "value".

CONVERSELY, the underlying Greek word which is translated as "fear" in I Peter 2:17 in relation to what our proper attitudes towards "God" should be is "phobeō" and this underlying Greek word appears 93 times in the New Testament in the following verses:

Let's not deceive nor delude ourselves, friends.

Substituting "respect" in place of "fear" in these verses SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK!

No, the "fear" which we are to have towards "God" IS FEAR...AS IN TREMBLING!

That many/most professing Christians today lack the same is more than evident AND THE CONSEQUENCES ARE DEADLY!

He/she who has ears to hear, let him/her hear...

I often hear people explain the fear of the Lord as a mere respect or reverence. But I feel as if respect or reverence does not come from fear but love. The subject becomes even more confusing to me when I read something like 1 John 4:18 that says that "perfect love expels all fear." How can we fear God while he expels all fear?
Love Magic :)

†. 2Cor 5:11 . . Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to
persuade men.

The koiné Greek word for "fear" in that passage is phobos (fob'-os) which
means: alarm or fright.

A variation of phobos is the suffix attached to a number of common fears
that we call phobias; for example:

Ophidiophobia (fear of snakes)
Acrophobia (fear of heights)
Cynophobia (fear of dogs)
Astraphobia (fear of thunder and lightening)
Pteromerhanophobia (fear of flying)
Mysophobia (fear of germs or dirt)
Claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces)

The phobia to which Paul admitted is the one called theophobia. Apparently
it was his wish to convince others that the route he took to a cure for his
own theophobia would work for them too.

Yes but my love for the Lord over shadows any fear I may have
Fear the Lord... trust the Lord

The fear that perfect love casts out is a fear that has torment. There is no torment when we fear the Lord or trust in those things that he has spoken unto us through His word. Fear means that we are to give more heed to those things that he has spoken unto us so that they do not slip away from us. To fear the Lord is to trust in Him and the power of his might. It means that we do not lean or give great value to our own understanding but rather we lean on Him. To fear the Lord is to honor and worship him in spirit and truth and to esteem His word above all that is necessary in this life. To fear the Lord is to live by every word that comes from the mouth of God because he can be trusted. I hope that helps.

The first case of theophobia occured in the garden of Eden.

†. Gen 3:8-11 . . And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the
garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from
the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord
God called to the man, and said to him: Where are you? And he said: I
heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was
naked; so I hid myself.

Adam had probably associated with God in the buff before with no apparent
discomfort; but after tasting the forbidden fruit he developed a humanistic
sense of propriety; which is interesting because even with an apron of fig
leaves covering his pelvic area; Adam still felt indecent.

Anyway; point being: I sincerely believe that even professional exotic
dancers-- normally comfortable in the buff on stage --would react just the
same as Adam reacted if God were to suddenly show up while they were
performing. I also sincerely believe that theophobia is a lot more common
than most people are willing to admit.

Phobias are usually not a problem for people who have them until the object
of their fear is present. Take fire for instance. Some folk panic in the
presence of fire, but when the fire is removed, they calm down: same with
people who have a fear of dogs and/or a fear of deep water. Well; I kind of
think that's how theophobia works. People are able to easily maintain their
composure when they're chewing the fat about God on an internet forum;
but if a brilliant light were to show up, hovering over their domicile and
shaking the walls while calling out their name in a booming voice, they'd
lose it and succumb to an overwhelming anxiety attack; for example:

†. Rev 1:7 . . Look! He's coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn
because of him.

FYI: According the Watch Tower Society, the pronoun "him" in that passage
refers to Michael the arch angel concealed in a human avatar.

The koiné Greek word for "mourn" is kopto (kop'-to) which means to beat
the breast in grief; viz: the behavior of people at funerals. Well; I think it's
pretty obvious from the language of that passage that when Christ returns;
people will assume it's for the worse-- they're going to die; and actually for
many, that will be 110% true.

†. Matt 13:47-50 . .The kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the
sea, and gathering fish of every kind; and when it was filled, they drew it up
on the beach; and they sat down, and gathered the good fish into
containers, but the bad they threw away. So it will be at the end of the age:
the angels shall come forth, and take out the wicked from among the
righteous, and will cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.

You know, I think that this topic ties in to preaching things like hell and judgement. There have been so many great Christian preachers who have used hell, or judgement as a means to instill fear in unbelievers, leading them towards a desire to seek the truth about who God is.

As the Bible says in Proverbs 9:10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

And I do believe that for many people, that is the beginning of their journey for that wisdom and knowledge. However, that type of preaching and thinking is only effective on the lost, or the spiritually immature. What I have found in my own journey to maturity is that there comes a time when the fear of God's judgement passes away and is replaced by love and trust in Him.

As we begin to become conformed to Christ, we become capable and understand what love truly is:
1 Corinthians 13 :
1If I speak in the tongues[SUP]a[/SUP] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[SUP]b[/SUP] but do not have love, I gain nothing.4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8Love never fails."

I want to draw attention in particular to "it is not self-seeking" and "always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres"

As I am conformed more and more to these truths, the preaching on fear and self preservation as a motivation to seek God becomes foolishness, almost anti-scriptural. I desire God because He is good, I love and understand His ways and why things are the way they are. I desire to be like Him not to save my soul, but out of love for Him and others. If I do not become like Him, then will I not be leading the people in my life down the path to destruction, will I not be abhorrent to myself and the Holy Spirit living in me? I have backslid a good number of times in my walk. I have grieved the Holy Spirit and re-enslaved myself to willful and disobedient inward sin and worldly thoughts, it is a miserable prison that I never desire to return to. I honestly have no more fear of death, I am thankful for every day I've been given. Even if, on judgement day, the Lord found me on the wrong side I the fence and I was condemned to die, I would accept it, I don't need to live forever, my gratefulness for this life (with all its ups and downs) and love for God and trust in Him even overrides my own desire for eternal life and a magic "heaven".

Of course, I could never feel this way about God or about death if I still believed in hell as an eternal place of torment for sinners.

fear being thrown into hell as an unrepentant sinner.
once you know he can and will do it, look for Jesus. perfect love (john 3-16) then cast out fear.
repent and be saved.

Again, why confuse two totally different words? The fear of the lord is the BEGINNING. That means that when you begin to walk this godly path of whatever that may be, it is done not out of love, but fear. You were at its base scared of dying or burning up or whatever your ultimate hell may be. If this wasn't the case, you would "act as the world acts."

Sometimes being afraid can be use in this way, like I'm too afraid to hurt that persons' feelings.

When a person really gains a true friendship with Jehovah God they wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize that friendship. So a healthy fear of God is a fear to do anything that would displease him, and effect our relationship with him more so then any other friendship we have with people.

Psalm 15:1,2-"O Jehovah, who may be a guest in your tent? Who may reside in your holy mountain? The one who is walking faultlessly,Practicing what is right,And speaking the truth in his heart."

If we want the privilege of being a guest in his tent then our actions have to reflect that desire. The fear of displeasing our God and Friend Jehovah helps us to make wise decisions so we can have a close relationship with him and receive his protection.

In a way, we as dads are supposed to model this type of Godly fear to our children......unconditional love doesn't punish but it disciplines. Unconditional love is safe and accepts the whole person and it doesn't attack character... but moves out of love. We fear God because He is so gracious with us, doesn't assail our character when we fail but meets us at the place we are.... then lovingly guides us into truth and real love. It is disheartening (fearful) to dissapoint this kind of love.
