For me we all are unique and on our own walk with the Lord, He will lead you but the following is from Scripture and i see as instructing us. He tells us how to walk and with Him in charge what our lives ought to look like :)
First we need to be sure we are saved. Many folks have the knowledge but not the spirit of Christ in them. Very important. We go to the cross and we are given mercy. When we are given this gift of grace, we will want to align our life to a life that is pleasing to God. Our fruit should be visible and we should live it not just speak it. Actions do speak louder than words. God is our focus....so from Him comes all good things :) Our lives may be filled with hardship, but it is when we are in trials that we can show Gods glory too. He does not promise us an easy ride! But He promises us never to leave us. We may not have what the world sees as important, material things will not be our drive. For a Christian, we are driven to give the gospel, in how we live, how we act, speak etc. Soup kitchens for example are great...but the soup won't save, only Jesus Christ can do that. Without our faith in God, nothing pleases Him. So, our heart and our treasure will be the same, we won't 'adore' Christ but spend all we have on ourselves....I see that as odd....We will be a people of love and forgiveness and we will lean wholly on Jesus name. We will,be looking and asking what we can do for Him, to show His love to a hurting world. Our confidence will be in Christ and in the Word. So knowing the Word, studying it, repeating it over our lives is normal for a Bible believing Christian....it is our sure foundation :)
But we are to be an active people....faith in action. In whatever way He calls us. God Bless, <><

I think there is a danger that when we say it's just love, we dilute the Word. But this is just my opinion :) I read in the word that love is the greatest commandment yes, but when we have this love, we will walk in obedience. There is much on obedience but it not spoken of so much these days. Is this because it's easier to leave out? Love the Lord God and leave out 'with all your heart, body & soul'. If we love Him we are to be obedient, it will be a natural sign of our love for Him. Our flesh will will be squashed as we are filled with His spirit to live a life pleasing to Him.
Be careful how you live amongst your unbelieving neighbors and friends. If we are obedient every day our unbelieving friends may one day glorify God. 1Peter 2:11-12
God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him. Acts5:32
Love the Lord your God...walk in His ways...hold fast to Him. Deut. 11:22

For me I have found my faith has grown as I have walked in obedience. If we love Him, we want to obey Him. But obedience calls for effort......God Bless, <><

Being a Christian means obedience to His word which, in a nutshell, means to have a relationship with Him and to EXUDE HIS LOVE to others.

Sister, there is a big differance in God's type of LOVE and this worlds type. And no human can recieve God's type as in 1 cor 13:4-13. Only being born in the Spirit opf God and walking in the Spirit can God's type of LOVE be fulfilled in the believer
And the fulfilment of all is LOVE GOD"S TYPE. once one gets thisthen olne can rest as we by belief are called to rest from opur works, recieving God's and thus God and you being in God then it is performed in and through you.
God's rest is available to all that believe
[h=3]Hebrews 3:10-12[/h]New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]10 [/SUP]That is why I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
[SUP]11 [/SUP]So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

[SUP]12 [/SUP]See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

[h=3]Hebrews 3:10-12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

God Sister by the cross has reconciled all to him and God is just waiting for us tocome to belief and see God's finished work is done, and all we do is respond to this amazing salvation provided to us all that believe through the cross
We are to add no works of our own, we are to be available to God for God to use us as God sees fit. EX: Noah used by God yes? Abraham used by God yes? Moses' mother used by God Yes?, and many others including Saul who became Paul used by God yes? Now all these Saints walked by Faith and moved and had their beings not being led by flesh, but by the Spirit of God, because they believed God, and thus God was not ever interferring in free will, for they said GOD please use me as you see fit.
This is the rest that is spoken of in Hebrews 3 and 4
Thanks I hope somehow this helps in your walk Sister and if not just toss it, we are all one in Christ for those that God has accepted by belief, I have recieved his Mercy and this is what changed my outlook

1 John 3:23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment

there are many scriptures on Love, But I think that where a lot is mistaken is what is true Love and for me the best place I found this is in 1 Cor.13:4-13
[h=3]1 Corinthians 13:4-13[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; [SUP]5 [/SUP]does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; [SUP]6 [/SUP]does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; [SUP]7 [/SUP]bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For we know in part and we prophesy in part. [SUP]10 [/SUP]But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

and we love because
1 John 4:19We love Him because He first loved us.
With this kind of Love how can one not Love anyone, we might not like what they do or have done and not agree with others, yet being Loved as God has shown us all by the Son going to the cross that he never had to go to for himself at all did. This is the Love that is most precious, please all of us recieve this

Brother in Christ, you have been asking for feedback. So why are you complaining?

The brethren are seeing what is lacking in your planned sermon. We are here to correct you if need be, out of love. To prevent you from stumbling, and from causing others to stumble.

Even though you meant well to highlight LOVE in your planned sermon, to discredit the sharing of the gospel, praising and worshiping GOD, attending church fellowship, and paying tithes and such and say that all it is IS JUST RITUAL/VAIN RELIGIOUS PRACTICE is so wrong on so many levels. Yes, GOD has called us to be people who have a heart for those who are in need, and to give support and care for them whenever we can. But it is so frightfully wrong that you believe and will assert in your sermon that these acts are better than the former mentioned above.

We are Christians. In the first place, Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with GOD: Holy Master to devoted servants. Loving Father to His children. Royal King to His royal priesthood. Holy Groom to His bride (Church). And the things we do in church as part of our fellowship and calling (sharing of the gospel, praise and worship, tithing, remembering the Last Supper), they are all borne out of our love for GOD and HIS commandments, and they are designed so that we as Christians would grow deeper in love with our LORD, become fully equipped with wisdom and discernment to protect us against false prophets and temptation, and to strengthen our spiritual life and our bonds with our brethren. So how could they be lesser acts compared to the reaching out that you are saying?

Think about it, as well as this other important point: if you do not saturate yourself with the Word of GOD, how can you possibly fulfill His 2 greatest commandments, which are 1) To love our GOD, with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and 2) To love our neighbor as we love ourselves? To be able to love GOD with every fiber of our being, we need to know HIM deeper, every single day. And that could only be achieved through prayer, meditating on His Word, praising and worshiping Him, and having fellowship with the brethren. And without getting to know GOD this deep, we can't possibly have the heart to love others as deeply as HE loves us. For who will teach us best about love, but GOD Himself, who is LOVE?

[h=3]1 Peter 2:17[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP]Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

[h=3]Romans 12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Return to the basics, brother. Do not be lost, even in your zeal to serve out of love. First things first. God bless you and grant you wisdom and understanding, putting your heart and mind in the right place, in Jesus' mighty name!!!

And the basis of any healthy relationhip is love.
without God's Love there is no life oin any person, for all they would do is oin stress, worry and frustration, and fear
When
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

James 1:26-27

[SUP]26 [/SUP]If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

[SUP]27 [/SUP]Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

This is how Christians SHOULD be. If Jesus was known by the flesh today, He would say to them now:

Matthew 23:14-22

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

I ask which is greater, the money and profit by it, or the people who gives these things value?
