Lynn,
what a good, unifying, thread, very thoughtful.....
sometimes our common weaknesses can force us to see our own humanity...
one of the things that is so sweet about this thread is that it asks us to honestly
humble ourselves.
TY

one of the things that is a constant, awesome, thing with me, is that in the whole of the salad-bowl,
He has chosen a 'peculiar people' to receive and to give Holy Love - after He separates us.

we have so much in common with so many other living, breathing, creations, but we are the ones
that have been chosen and given understanding, choices, intellectual capacity.....

the Love that our Father has for us is truly something that we will never understand until we are
called and chosen by Him and then only partly...but we do know, because He has told us that
there are un-imaginable 'things that eye has not seen nor ear have heard'....but we have been
promised so many things by Him, and we do know for sure that His Word stands firm and
we also must stand firm in our gratitude and walk.

for Hubby, he considers the countless times, even 'after-Christ' that he has fallen, been out
of the Will of God, yelled at Him in anger, spoken so much that he shouldn't have, actually,
dis-respected his Maker when at his lowest points......yet in all of this Christ has manifested
His compassion, forgiveness, and Love - so, looking at his record, he has to agree with
David in his perplexity, 'what is man that Thou art mindful of him?'

a great gift that we all who love Him have been given, is that He allows us to look-back from
where He has brought us from and He gives us new hearts to look forward and upward to where
we are going....

What has happened with this post is both refreshing and soothing. Also funny how often I wanted to say, "I know! I don't get that either!" lol

I don't know what heaven will be like, but I'd love to be standing by everyone who asked questions about God when God reveals the answer to them. I love the surprise when I finally catch on to just one small thing God does get through to me. Better than a four-foot stocking stuffed completely on Christmas Morning! I'd love to share those moments for others. I wonder if we all get to be there for each of those moments.

Alas,

What is the spiritual representation of this story? For real I cannot get it.
Judges 14:8-14
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And it came to pass, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]But if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may hear it.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.
Hey just-me . . .keep reading - It's like Jeopardy, IOW, answered with a question . . . Before sunset on the seventh day the men of the town said to him, "What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion?" (v18a)

I don't think I know or comprehend the extent of God's love . . .

For those of us who boldly say we don't know.... we have grown a great measure.
For those of us who say I know and do not...are only fooling themselves

For we are asked for only one thing.........just to believe.

What don't I know about God? I would say almost everything, I can be with him in heaven with him for millions of years and yet I would still only know .000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 of him.
His heart is one of a deep and endless ocean in which we sink in constantly and the deeper and deeper we sink the more and more we see and know of him and the more amazing and beautiful wonders and treasures and secrets we learn of him.

The more I know of God, the better I understand how unworthy I am to know anything about Him at all.

I'm looking forward to the "feast of tabernacles" during the millennial reign of Christ. From what I've read in scripture, we all will be enlightened to a great extent. Comeon Jesus! The Lion of Judah! Bring your Kingdom to earth and teach us all!

I suppose I will never know why some will turn from the truth into darkness.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Why prefer death to life? Why?

If you're anything like me, you can actually adjust to Duh moments. I get them 10-20 times per day. (Recovering from one. Apparently, doing a good job cleaning the kitchen floor takes more than 20 minutes. Duh! lol)

Okay, so are those tabernacles like the ones in Harry Potter? You step into a small tent and then it spreads out into a bedroom, living room and kitchen, complete with a bay window looking out and chandlers? Or is just the lean-tos described in he OT somewhere? (Haven't read the details in so long, I forget everything but we're actually supposed to cut down our own trees to make these tents.)

Because, got to tell you -- I really, REALLY like indoor plumbing, electricity, a TV, my computer AND air-conditioning! I'm just not an outdoor kind of person -- especially tents! Grasshoppers in my garden unnerve me! Mosquitoes! Snakes crawling in sleeping bags. BUGS! Hoot owls waking me up. Rustling in the bushes. Is it just a bird or a wild and vicious beaver?

What exactly is the/ was the pillar of fire?

Isn't it kind of scary, at night, in the woods? Or in the desert. Or wherever.

Amen! Your second paragraph is all the stuff I was just picturing. (Hey, there were no rabbits in Sinai back then, so what is that animal other than a rodent? lol)

Bring a shovel and camp out next to a river with a lot of plantain growing about so you can treat mosquito bites. LOL You then can be free from bumps on your skin, you can stay clean too. whoppee!!

Seriously all the foliage and the days and sacrifices of bullocks, lambs, and rams with "deals" of flour all have important spiritual meanings. By the way a deal is really a big deal. "Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah." Exodus 16:36 and "omer" is actually a "deal."

And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering. Exodus 29:40
