Excellent thread, Sam! As a Pentecostal pastor, I totally detest this message. Here is the real prosperity message:
2 Chronicles 7:12-15 12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. 13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
The true prosperity message is true repentance and real submission to the Lord Jesus Christ. When we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added unto you.

I know of a person in Nepal, who was very active evangalist,very fruitful ministry he only went to school as a kid,
Long story short,one day he was introduced to one of the tv evangalist,he was told how to do evangelism in more
Powerful way,that was to tell how much god will bless them,if they accept Christ as their Lord,Christ died so that we would be rich here on earth n in heaven,that poor man was deceived and went to the family he was praying for months n told them ,how god wants to make them rich,so they converted to Christianity however went back to Hinduism in 5 months when they went totally broke.
That made that man weep, heart broken knowing he was deceived,he repented n followed hard after God not men
That man was my dad.He's in heaven now.
Am sick n tired of seeing missionaries whoo is just interested in taking photoes n videos,m sick n tipeople whose got nothing,giving him lots of dollars n corrupting once fruitful ministry.
But in saying all this m also als God dsents people sold out for God,they might not have much but gives everything for Christ.
