Hi, sorry, finally responding to your question on what is child like faith!
Well this is what I have always believed it was, according to these
three scriptures that Jesus spoke!

1): Matt. 18 Jesus said, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom as a little child,
shall not enter there in.

2):Unless you be converted, and become as little children,
ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

3):Suffer the little children to come unto me,
for such is the kingdom of heaven.

So with Jesus saying become as little children to enter the kingdom,
and as little children, such is the kingdom of heaven,
and receiving the kingdom of heaven as a little child to enter there in,
makes me believe that there must be a very significant reason why
the Lord Jesus gave basically 3 commandments, or ways that we are
to enter into his kingdom, and that it must be pretty important!

First, you have to receive the kingdom of heaven, before you can enter
into the kingdom of heaven. So receiving the kingdom, and
entering into the kingdom, must be on a very simple child like level.

For we have seen how that the very Word made Flesh, the Creator of
Heavens and Earth, walked among the well learned Scribes and Pharisee's,
the top ranked preachers and pastors of their day if you will, and they
completely missed the kingdom of heaven! And He even
told them, that they were of their father the devil!

The bible also says, that Jesus was called, and went to, the needy and unlearned!
So is the Lord saying that we should just be simple and unlearned in the
scripture? No, I don't believe that at all, as we are commanded to study the word
to show our selves approved as the Bible teaches.

But, as completely understanding what Jesus said about receiving the kingdom
of heaven as little children, I think that it's only attainable, with child like faith.
For in order to believe, you first have to have faith to believe right!
So as the bible say's, that we have to have faith with believing, to receive anything
from God, including our Salvation!

Look at little children and how easily they believe what they are told, and taught.
For you cant believe with out having faith. So you can see how simple their little
faith is in believing, because they don't have all the worldly knowledge,
and reasoning and untrusted feelings and everything else that we as
grown ups have tangled up inside us, that so hinders our faith many times!

My thoughts recently upon your request for understanding what is childlike faith,
made me ponder upon the people who exemplified CHILD LIKE FAITH in the bible.

Like Noah, who I can see with CHILD LIKE FAITH, simply believed God when he said it
was going to rain, so build an ark. Noah didn't ask God any questions with reasoning
about how is it going to rain! He just believed it and by simple faith built the ark
that ended up saving his whole family!

Like David, who when King Saul tried to take away his CHILD LIKE FAITH by wearing
his armor and using his advanced fighting skills with his sword. David took it all
off and said let me go with what God had given me,
and that was CHILD LIKE FAITH! He didn't reason how is this little stone going
to kill Goliath, but it did!

Like Israel, who didn't reason with God about how the walls of Jericho could
fall down after marching around them seven times. They just simply believed
and obeyed, and the walls fell!

Like Jesus, who himself even exemplified CHILD LIKE FAITH,
in spitting and making mud and placing it upon blinded eye's that
he healed! But the blinded Pharisee's with un-child like faith,
believed not in this miracle!

Like the Centurion, who with CHILD LIKE FAITH amazed Jesus,
when he said unto him, Master, I need not that you come unto
my house and pray that my servant may be healed,
just speak the word! And Jesus said unto him and all who were around,
I have not seen such great faith, as in all of Israel!
Why, because with his simple Child Like Faith, he knew that
Jesus need not come and pray a long fancy Pharisee Prayer,
but just simply believing said, Master, just speak the word!
Jesus spoke the word, and said, be it unto you, according to your
faith. And from that very hour, his servant was healed!

But with Simian, he reasoned with un-child like faith and
questioned the Angel of the Lord that came to him, and it angered God,
and he was struck as a Dumb man, until his wife who with
CHILD LIKE FAITH received the Promise, gave birth to
the Prophet John the Baptist!

As I think of the hundreds of miracles and mighty things that
God has done in the lives of his people in the Bible,
I'm made to stop and wonder, do we not have the many
Miracles they had back then, because we have failed to
understand simple CHILD LIKE FAITH?

Children don't complicate things - but they still say "why?" And that why leads to another why and.....

But they really just want a simple answer each time.

May God help us to have the simplicity, honesty, love and transparency of a child in the days we're living. Great thread. God Bless you!... :)

Faith like a child is actually a wonderful thing. It means more or less, you trust and fear. It is with love and innocence. We should all have faith like a child. God is my heavenly father, I should always come to Him as a child and listen and follow Him.

As a child simply trust his parents - so are we to trust God.

This helped me understand the faith of a child.

Psalm 131
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty:
neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother:
my soul is even as a weaned child.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.

I don't understand many things, though I want to understand all things. But, like a little child being taught by his father, the Lord has only taught me a few little things and told me to go and do those things. So, I go and work at my small tasks and trust that the Lord knows best. And, I try not to meddle in things too big for me:D.

Yes, that's true that children do ask why, but I was thinking that it depends on the age of the child.
I think that Children don't start asking questions why until they are at a certain age. Jesus did say,
"the little children"! I think the younger they are, the easier they believe. Because, the older they get,
the more they can reason around things!

I do like the fact that they always believe and trust that their there needs will always be met!
Including at Christmas time!...............presents! LoL......:D

The old testament was physical the new testament is spiritual. As Jesus said we have to be born again. We need to be as little children and learn a new spiritual way of seeking The Father through Jesus Christ

Children rarely question. They just believe what authority tells them. Scripture wants you also to have unquestioning child-like acceptance of everything you are told. I think it is that simple.

A child's heart has not yet been tainted by the world and is able to see things more clearly.

I dont think He was saying to have the intelligence of a child, but the untainted aspect of a child.

A heart that has been trained by the world will makes excuses, find reasons to "justify" rejection, ignore, mix with ones own desires, etc. '

A child's untainted aspect will not do these things.

A child looks at the world. and sees how small he is. And how totally helpless he is, and how totally stupid he is (pun intended) So he trusts parents and adults in his life with is very life. in all things.

When a child questions, it is because he wants to learn. to grow.

We have to come to God with this mindset if we are to have true faith in God.

an adult thinks differently. He thinks he can help himself. he becomes selfish, and when he asked questions about something, it is because he lacks faith and trust. (for the most part)

It's interesting how 'Child Like Faith' isnt encouraged in any other aspect of life.

In fact having child like faith with every other aspect of life is quite dangerous.

26And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

33And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.

48And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

When Jesus came to Jerusalem, the children had came running up to Him cheering and shouting out from the heart without any doubt that He was the Hoshiana that has came from God, and that is what kind of worship that God is looking for, because it was pure genuine praise that the children were showing. When someone become an adult, they uses logical reasoning from our own understanding of nature that bring in doubt at times about the supernatural; but back in those times, they were 50/50 in believing in the supernatural; one part of them was childlike faith and the other part of them they use logical reasoning and which that can confuses the mind. But now some of us uses in our times 99.999% logical reasoning and .001% childlike faith and which that is why it is so hard for anyone to believe in the supernatural unless they have seen it, but even if they had seen it, someone can come in and convince them what they had experienced isn't true but a trick of the mind. But if a child experienced the supernatural, it will be kinda hard to explain it logically what they saw wasn't true, because the child might say they'd agree to your explaination, but in their heart, they know that they have seen the Boogey man.

when children are taught to love truth more than anything, to never believe a lie, to trust God and pray to Him always, constantly, and to believe in Jesus the Messiah - the Lamb of God come in the flesh,

they can tell when they are 3 years old, even younger, and of course older, when anyone lies to them. it is simple.

as they get older, they don't accept what liars say to them. they won't go close to a catholic church, or a buddhist temple, or a prostitutes lair when they are older, nor a mormons, jws, or muslim hangout.

they won't even think of committing a crime, homsexual or heterosexual(adultery or fornication or any sex outside a lifetime marriage to a spouse of the opposite sex), or gambling, or profiteering, or lying, or cheating, or doing drugs, or listening to demonic ritual music. (and they will recognize it immediately).

"raise a child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it when he is older" is true, though extremely rare to see. (Proverbs 22:6)

childlike faith is the only faith that is able to find the narrow way according to God's Word; it has always been few.

3Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. 4And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

5And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 6And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.
