We know it is impossible for Him to lie. Is everything else within His capability? Can anyone come up with something, that the bible enforces, that He cannot do besides lying?
It will always be impossible for God to defy his own nature in whatever form that may take. If he is Holy, he cannot be unholy. If he is eternal, he cannot be temporal. If he is faithful, he cannot be unfaithful, etc, etc....
Jesus was tempted in His human nature not in His divine. He was a man and at the same time God.......God can not be tempted that is true...... but man can and Jesus was a man too.
Hebrews 2:16-18 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Gen 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
I wonder if its possible for God to make someone love him? I reckon its possible but not probable? Since God ask us to love him, I suspect that's something that must emanate from within ourselves.
Gen 22:12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
God did not know this until He put Abraham to the test.

I think that is why He doesn't reveal all of Himself. If He did, there would be nothing but awe and wonder. He wants us to choose Him and showing Himself as He truly is at this point would be forcing himself on those He wants to love Him honestly and obediently.

God has magnified his word above his very name.....He cannot contradict his word......I agree with OLDHERMIT....he cannot contradict his Holy Nature......He cannot die (Jesus took upon himself the form of a servant for the suffering of death), he cannot lie, he cannot be tempted with evil, he cannot lose.......there are many things that he cannot do based upon his OMNI-EVERYTHING.....
The point of questions like this are usually to try to discredit God some how. As if asking absurd questions such as, can God make a car that is larger on the inside than on the outside or can God make the car entirely white in color and entirely black. The point is that yes....there are things that God cannot do but they are logical absurdities so of course they cannot be done.
Silly questions like can God make a rock so big even He cannot lift it? How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Really there must be better things to discuss.
There are things that God will not do. God will not force a man to get saved against his will.

At the end of the day I agree.....kind of like the old argument....can God make a rock he cannot lift.....therein lies the absurdity of such a question.....
The sun (which is small in comparison to other stars) is big and God floats it like a cork in a glass of water.....Only finite, uneducated minds can come up with such absurdities when it comes to what God can and can't do......
